Stealthing missions

What’s the quickest way to stealth a mission with an MM? I’m doing tip missions to change my alignment and noticed it takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to complete one mission if I kill everything in my path…

Eventually, you get to know the missions by rote.

Did you get "Some nut on talk radio"? That involves one click and one named boss. Dismiss the pets at the beginning and resummon at the back room.

Is it "Your Life Story! Wait What?" Again dismiss at the beginning and free the hostage and fight the way back.

Really the key is a willingness to dismiss and resummon, which for some reason, is anathema to many MMs. Yes it takes 10-15 seconds to resummon and upgrade. That's a lot faster than defeating all.

Not to be elitist, but a mission should never take 30 minutes for someone wanting to speed tips, rather you should be done with all 5 tips in that time, even with a MM.

As with any AT, the bottom line answer to "What’s the quickest way to stealth a mission?" is to do only what's required and no more.

This is how I do my TIP missions regardless of AT.

All my toons have Super speed with Stealth IO. I also read you could get the jump stealth IO and put it in sprint to obtain the same effect. Super speed has a stealth component that combines with the stealth IO proc. End result only sniper mobs and Rikti drones will only notice you. The other good thing about super speed with stealth IO is you can have super speed on with jet pack or hover if you have issues moving at super speed rate in a cave mission and still be afforded the benefit as if you were zipping around. So yes you can hover next to a mob and not be seen. Also you can be afk in a mission with Super speed on and not worry about getting DCed or seen most of the time assuming your in a safe spot. Hovering next to the ceiling is a good spot not to be seen.

1. I do a radio mission on the highest setting to obtain 3 TIP missions.

2. I then run the radio missions a few notches down lower then max. For example I run radio missions on 2/6 setting. I find that it is high enough in setting to get TIP missions reliably on a regular basis.

3. I zip to the end of a mission kill the main boss to complete the mission when possible. This will now drop my TIP mission count down to 2. If I need to click a glowie I will make sure I am defense capped with some purples and hope my defenses keep up when clicking the glowies. I also try to clear out some safe area I can run to when I need to instead of trying to get back to the beginning. But regardless once the TIP count is now 2. I then work my way back to the door until another TIP mission pops.

4. Once I have done step 3 twice I have completed 2 out of the 5 for the day and I go and lower the setting down to -1/1 and just zip to the end to complete the other 3.

5. If I am doing the 2nd set of 5 I will do the same as above. Then kick my setting down for 2 missions and then for the last one I will kick it back up to force the Morality mission to drop.

Beyond all of that, the only way to do these missions is to know the missions. For example if I am doing the one mission where I need to find and fight Maelstrom I use the auto complete feature because that mission is always been an issue for me.

I've run missions on lower settings and have gotten TIP mission to drop, but for the most part doing missions on -1/1 I have found I do not get missions drops all the time, where as on 2/6 I am positive I get one all the time.

I also keep a good radio mission that contains Freakshow or CoTs as they seem to go down pretty fast. This way if I should fail to get a morality mission from the TIPs for some strange reason I know I can fall back on the Radio mission to obtain a Morality mission. I of course never complete the radio mission and just use it to farm. For some toons I have the same mission up for the last 8 or 9 months.

Again as I mentioned sometimes you need to find safe areas that you can summon pets and clear out a few groups just to give you a safe spot to run back to. It seems every missions has a quiet area for players to stand around and be safe.

You have your problem right there. Stop killing everyone. Go into the mission, figure out what the objective is, and RUN YOUR *** OFF to that objective and do just that.

For the MM, as has been mentioned, dismissal of pets is required to do the running, then rejuvenate them at the objective. For a scrapper, it's simply "kill everything unless it needs a click. Then kill it."

For some pets, maybe. For Bots/Traps, I just timed it at 87 seconds from first summon to when the Protector Bots finished bubbling everyone.

You dont need to wait for that. They will keep bubbling in combat

I sincerely hope for a tip mission done for speed, which means running at 0/1 (or -1/1) you're not waiting for all bots (and you) to be bubbled before engaging.

The only time I bring out pets is just before I'm going to attack something. And I dismiss them again as soon as all the fighting is over. I never run around with pets trailing behind.

So just enter the mission alone, stealth to the objective, summon in a quiet corner and attack. There is nothing sacred or special about having pets out, especially if you turn on your invisibility (SS+stealth in most cases). In fact, pets trailing around a map or zone can actually be more of a hindrance.

They bubble me last. I'd rather soak an alpha at 45% defense than at 33%.

If I were running a tip mission for maximum speed, I'd be running it at -1/x1/no bosses, and I wouldn't even bother summoning pets: Trip Mine can take care of anything I need to defeat, and I don't need pets out to click on a glowie.

Thought we were talking about stealthing. Or are you stealthing a mish at x8?

Anyway, you can just pop a purple, or seeker drones for -tohit, or both

Depends on what I feel like doing. I've stealthed to an AV fight before.

*shrugs*

Well, you always have the option of Grant Invis

Some things I would suggest: if you want to be bubbled first, summon the protector bots first.

If you are a FF, you don't need stealth, just keep PFF up Shaking the aggro can be tricky.

If you use superspeed with stealth, you can get your pets to 'teleport' to you if you go far enough, fast enough.
