But exactly why I would suggeast SR too. First it is positional which means only need to watch out for three defenses. Second even with SO's and with only 6 initial power SR can get to %30, adding weave, maneuvre combat jumping and IO sets only makes it easier. Not to mention elude is actually a good power if you don't have anything but SO's. Scaling resist lets you use those inspirations too. Also like WP SR is a toggle all and forget rest set (except practice brawler but it can be set to auto-power easily) which makes it a good set for a newly starting player since you don't need to understand it to get it worked it works almost accidently.

For suggesting an AT as easiest. Either scrapper or brute for various reasons. First both has good damage and surviving capabilities. Their inherit doesn't require any consideration for early levels and only fury may need a little watching out to keep it at a certain level after 20's. Both can do x5's with only SO's and possibly more.
  2. Spines had some toxic damage right? Than I suggest Degenerative for concept and it is actually better dps than reactive (which people doesn't seem to be realised yet)

Read carefully it does not give you any control power it increases their effectiveness.
  4. Took katana version once to get mobs out of squishies in teaming. All it did ever to me is costing two respec (one to put it one to put out) on same toon. Never bothered with it again. I already have boxing on my toon as a stupid place filler I don't need a second one.
  5. I doubt there will be any new defensive set maybe except a ninjitsu clone but if it ever happens I would like to see a resist all/positional defense set a counter part of invul.

  7. I am addicted to my kat/SR scrapper. When I try to play something else I either find myself going to SR as secondary or katana for primary. Odd enough I manage to select other sets since my inner voice of (try something totally different) kicks in.
  8. Well I didn't really think about it much since I am VIP and get SSA's free anyway. I finished all hero side ones with my main once and villian side ones up to 5 (due to lack of a villian capable of soloing them quickly)

If I was actually buying these with paragon points however I would probably observe them more closely and abuse their rewards often for extra hero merit etc.

One thing I realise about them however is they are more like reading a comic book than rest of the game and for some reason I find it good. Not sure why but there was some cliches in the first SSA that I missed reading from old comic books. New series like ultimate marvel and such just doesn't give me that old comic book feel I had from black and white huge volumes. For some reason this first SSA did that for me and I felt nostalgic. Even if my chracter was like a spectator I forgot about it for awhile and just enjoyed the story that was unfolding in front of me.

Sure there was lots of mistakes on part of how story written but I only figure them out once that particular story ended. I was enjoying the story unfold while I was playing it so those points didn't bother me.

Realistically, due to the way AVs resist -regen debuffs and such, I'm pretty sure Degenerative wins NOT because of the -Max HP, but because of the toxic DoT which is unlikely to be resisted.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about exactly how AV regen is calculated to actually do the math.
That changed with i22 it does -1000 max hp debuff on AV's now which is roughly %3 (give or take .25) of AV's max Health
  10. AV's resist to -regen I am not sure how much it drops but usually AV's have %89 regen resist.

I would go with degenerative since there is no resist to -max HP and it roughly works like a resist debuff and it also lowers regen by same margin (which is at least %3)
  11. It depends on character but I can atleast tell that lore and hudgement are at the end of list which I make T4.

If I am playing a DPS oriented character than interface and alpha first T4 than destiny for added survival.

If i am playing anything else alpha than destiny. Interface is third one in the list.
  12. When you have time check "Find Contact" button in your contact list if you didn't already did. You will be surprised :P
  13. Your list is interesting but lets see things in a dfferent light.

Inspirations, super inspirations: In any other MMO these would be potions that drops into bag.

Enhancements, temp powers, attuned enhancements: These are akin to various equipments that drops into bags in other MMO's.

Recipes, salvages, converters, catalysts: these are various crafting tools and components in any other MMO that again drop into bag.

Reward Merits, Architect Tickets, Alignment Merits, Incarnate Shards, Incarnate Threads, Astral Merits, Empyrian Merits: These are like special tokens in other games that can be used to purchase some specific items in other MMO's usually even in other MMO's these have their own spaces and usually have a large cap that may not be reached. (hell the new WoW in space has so many of these you would puke)

Badges: Many other MMO also has achievements.

Prestige: I don't knowany other MMO that has this but I won't be surprised if there were some MMO's that let you collect base or guild specific gold.

Influence: Gold or credit in other MMO's.

So what is really confusing in here? Incarnate drops? many games have similiar drops to purchase specific equipment and usually PvP oriented ones. In a matter of fact in CoH we have the luxury of having seperate spaces for all the drops in most games people need to purchase extra bags or containers to put everything together.

To preface, I have a lvl 50 katana/super reflexes scrapper that has worked rather well for me, but I'm having a bit of trouble with my lore pets. I know I have wanted them to be Cimerorans, due to the incredible damage output by comparison to other sets and due to the effectiveness of their healer pet, but I'm unsure as to whether I should focus on having damage oriented pets or whether I should go the healer pet route. I already have the tier 3 power that gives a boss and lt. to fight for me, but the lt. dies in a hurry and the boss doesn't usually last much longer. Of course, I'm also using them when soloing on +0x8 versus rikti repeatables, as that is my prefered method of farming for purples, so I'm not sure if they just aren't very good in that area or what.

In any case though, they question pretty much is this: should I get pets that deal tons of damage, or pets that can keep me alive via healing?

And thanks in advance for your help, as always. =)

P.S. Just to throw this in, I have soft-capped defense, and I am going for musculature alpha for more damage, reactive interface for yet more damage, ionic judgement to help in case of adds, and ageless destiny in order to keep my endurance up, otherwise I still go through quite a few blues in a mission. Hopefully that'll give enough information to get things going.
I suggest going to degen for more damage since its effect islike a regen debuff and resist debuff but without annoying debuff protection protect against it.

For lore I have rularuu as my dps pets and seers for lambda and some other content.

For destiny I suggest rebirth for solo and barrier for teaming but I don't know which epic pool you got. I have body mastery with conserve power and physical perfection to handle endurance issue. Barrier or rebirth can keep your lore pets alive too so I suggest using either instead of ageless.

Boosting your defense enhancements up to +5 may result in removing combat jumping or maneuvre without losing your softcap which reduce your overall endurance reduction a bit and give you a few extra slot and power spots to get something else.

The idea of a mix of melee/ranged offense and support to provide defense to self/party is very appealing to me.
You are forgetting that all EAT's have static primary and secondary. Khelds get more power and from shift, Veats get different training but overall they can't choose from different power pools. If there will be ever a third EAT for preatoria (which I assume will happpen after we beat tyrant) than it will be a narrowed one just as op stated.
  16. Fine than stay away from my easy to play and fun scrappers will you? I don't understand this whining anyway. If you want something unique than there is 3 other melee focused AT to play. Do you want more survivalbility and team focus? Go play a tanker. Do you want more AoE? Go play a brute. Do you want more ST damage? Go play a stalker and LEAVE MY DAMN SCRAPPER ALONE PLEASE.
  17. Interesting thing I discovered in Both DA content and this one. I had AV option turned on when I was doing DA arcs and whild doing SSA7. During all of these arcs only two being were AV all others were EB. In DA arcs at Max arc Black Scorpion was an AV and as far as I know only AV in the whole arc. In SSA 7 in the first mission Ghost Widow was AV and she was the only one. Not even Ruladak or Wade-loser was AV's. Is there a bug in here? Or are Recluse lackeys get special treatment?.
  18. I am on the same side as you Alien. Not to mention as a casual player (10 to 20 hours in a week tops) I find thst this kind of options being better and as I said before many times I don't think anyone who is not dedicated to this game will buy SBE's anyway since there are many gold farmers around the corner which just gives inf cheap.

Not sure about this so don't take my words as facts but it maybe because your VIP reward paragon points may count to that 1200 points so in every 3 month you may get 4 token instead of 3.

    Just thought I'd state that.

EDIT: (Then again who would argue against any type of buff if they got eventually anyway? )
If they are going to try to balance scrappers to just put something unique to it (which devs will do) than no thanks it does not worth risk that losing some DPS or survivalbility just because people are whiners because neighbours kids got a new toy.

If you want something unique go and play one of the other melee AT's. I am playing scrappers because they are simple and don't have anything unique if devs will change anything about scrappers I will put around half of my characters (which includes my main) into a locker and won't touch them.
  21. katana/SR (scrapper) it is an oddball because you don't need DA to get to softcap which is why most people get katana but this lets you use katana/s top attack chain with less interruption GD-GC-SD-GC.

I didn't tried myself but katana WP would be hold its ground even better.
  22. Well I was saying if you could spare a slot but it seems my eyes are not working well today and I keep botching on base values alot :P

I saw that after I posted for some reason it evaded first time from me. Second question:ıs titanium coating in light form really necessary? From what I see even if you remove it it will be perma (by 10 second or so) and will be hard cap to all resists. With removing it at least you can remove grant invisibility (yup i dont like it :P) by placing shield wall into another defense power or you can put it into health for numina proc or heal for extra mitigation.

Sorry to say this THB but people were doing this for ages via gold farmers. It is cheaper too. If anything else I don't see any non-dedicated person to this game buying those SBE's at all since you can buy a full set at the same amount of money you will be spending on one.

    Returning to your build:

Was kinetic combat in brawl is really necessary? As far as I can see when you toggle maneuvre, combat jumping and combat flight you have %40.3 s/l defense even if you remove kinetic combat from brawl it downs to %36.5 which is well within a small lucks range. Removing kinetic combat from brawl will give you 3 slot which with one you can place shield wall into either CJ or maneuvre or other defense power and you can put other two slot in health for a numina proc and a numina heal proc which will make your regen 15.43hp instead of 11.96 hp (and you will lose only like 3 max hp tops) and you can get for example assault instead of grant invisibility.
