Yes, they give you bunches of slots on all the servers, so you can make all the alts you want. Until you fill them up and open other accounts. They are sneaky like that.
-
If you are on the same account that created it, and it gives you the option to unpublish it, you should be able to edit it. If you can't, I would go to an AE building, then /bug it and /petition it. (The 2 systems are supposed to talk to each other, but don't always do so.) When the GM shows from the /petition, explain things to him. He will probably tell you you need to talk to tech support out of game, but it is always worth starting at the bottom.
And you are correct, if you unpublish arcs, they are removed from the servers completely. If you don't have a local copy, they are just removed from existence. So if you want the arc, don't unpublish it before saving a local copy! (There probably is a backup someplace on the NCSoft servers, but I would not want to take a chance that they can find it and put it back.) -
Pep might be talking about the original Jacket, which was all one piece. You didn't have the chest selections under it or different kinds of ties. It was your chest selection. It is also completely gone from the game, not just moved. Having more options in that area are nice, but there are also problems with the pieces not all fitting just right.
My main has it still in his first slot, I got to level 30 before it was removed, so that slot has an aura. But I can't change any of his SS animations or change his power colors without losing it. -

Just because I am a comic geek and seeing the errors here bothers me:
Quote:Technically, this is accurate, the 2 current Wildcats have a connection to the GA Wildcat. But that is because one of them is the GA Wildcat. The Silver Age Wildcat would be better named the Earth-1 Wildcat, he was not a protege of the original, he was the Earth-1 version of the original, who was from Earth-2. Since Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1986, there has only been the original Wildcat, his goddaughter Yolanda (killed by Eclipso) and his son Tom Bronson. The original and his son are both members of the JSA.To use your Wildcat example: There have been at least 4 Wildcats in the DC universe. The original Golden Age one. Then there was the Silver Age Wildcat, who happened to be the original's protege. Then you get down to the current Wildcats (of which there are 2). The part you glossed over is that BOTH of the current Wildcats have a connection to the original Golden Age Wildcat.
Quote:John Henry Irons was the Man of Steel, he never claimed to BE Superman, just that he felt it was his mission in life to continue his work. Superboy was a clone of Superman, he knew he wasn't the original, though he had similar traits. The 2 that were claiming to be the original were the one that actually WAS inhabiting his body, and the Cyborg Superman.
Quote:Jay Garrick was not active at the same time as Barry Allen (barring time travel), Barry Allen picked up the mantle and became The Flash when he gained super speed, apparently LONG after Jay Garrick was no longer active. I also just searched and found out something I didn't know, Barry Allen named himself after the Jay Garrick Flash from a comic book.
None of this means that I think multiples of the same name should be allowed on the servers. There is a huge difference between a comic book univers with long history and storylines and a MMO. And I find that digging for a name for a character, and finding one that is really unusual, can really help me get interested in the character.
And after previewing that post, I think I may be slightly bothered by the fact that I didn't have to look any of it up. -
Actually, my alien android is named 47499.

I have 5 characters named Justice Blues on different servers. They all have different powersets and slightly different backstories. My main SG did a swap on one server where we each took someone else's main and recreated them, so there is a Justice Blues on a 6th server. But there will eventually be a character on each server with that name by me, to play with different powersets and such. Server merging would obviously cause me huge problems, since I would end up with multiple Justice Blues, all with the same global, and the same basic history.
Most of the rest of my 60 odd alts have different names, powersets, and backstories, even the ones that are connected to the Justice Blues on their server. I just like the backstory and building off of it for that character, probably because he is my main. -
Yeah, I can hardly wait to create xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX for my next character! Or maybe even xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXx!

While I can't help you with the interface problem (Never heard of that one before, and am glad I haven't had it happen.) there is a place in your Options, under the Keymapping section, where you can set a toggle for the UI showing up in screenshots. My screenshot key is Print Screen and I use shift+Print Screen to toggle the UI. If you set up a toggle there, you can try taking a screenshot, then hitting the toggle key, then taking another screenshot.
If neither of those screenshots have the UI, then you know for sure there is a problem with your system that is keeping things from working right. And that may be the reason you can't edit also. -

Thanks for the file and the review. Glad you all seemed to like it, except for the outdoor mission at the end.
While it is the first appearance of the Future Skulls, it was not written as a beginning of a trilogy. I wrote it as a standalone, with the thought that maybe I would revisit them a few arcs down the road. Unfortunately, they were very loud and persistant about intruding in the next arc I wrote, so it got pretty much scrapped and they took over. I just completely gave up and finished them up for the third arc, it was easier then trying to write something else and getting bullied again.
But through all of that, the story in the first arc hasn't changed. The second arc has been completely re-written 3 times with some major changes in missions even after the story was set and the 3rd has been re-done twice (And there are still a few things in both of them that irritate me.) but the only changes in the first one are mechanical and map changes. And cleaning up typos of course. They never go away.
A point that was mentioned on the show, the Death Skulls will not be a problem with xp. They are Lts in the Future Skulls group, that has the required minions, Lts, and Bosses in the group. If they were Lts in a group by themselves, they would lose all xp. They will lose some value because they are on Standard setting, but there is nothing anyone can do about that except the Devs. (I am not going to put them on Hard. At low level nobody could survive them.)
I don't know if you have played the other 2 arcs yet, but I did want to warn you that the second one is very different in style, being more of a MacGuffin chase. The third arc is irritating because the final mission has to take place on a particular map from a story point of view, but that map does not all a suitably climactic finale because of spawning limitations.
Thanks again for the review. Glad you enjoyed the arc enough to look for the follow-ups. I was wondering one thing, for the 3 1/2 star rating, did he round up or down on the AE? -
Quote:No, it was gone when COH went to retail. I don't know when it was taken out, but I never had to worry about it and I started playing the first day. Well, okay, I didn't know about the trains for the first week or so and getting from the KR door of Skyway to Perez Park really sucked, but then I learned and it was much, much easier to travel.I seem to recall running into that when I started in Issue 3, TBH.

Quote:You say that historical names can't be trademarked, but then you ask why NCSoft can use Valkyrie? Valkyries are not only creatures from Norse mythology, they were first widely popularized in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen in the 1850s.Historical names can not be trademarked which is why CoX can get away with using Atlas. I'm still not sure why they can use Valkyrie since I believe Marvel was the first to use that as a comic book character name.

Okay, I will take you up on that. My email is in my profile.

Slows. Especially on minions. I ran one arc with all customs, only 3 minions in the group, all with different powersets. Diversity is good, and they fit the group thematically, but one had glue arrow, one had Caltrops, and the third had ice blasts and ice armor. I was on an Inv tank, so they didn't actually stop me, but charging down a hallway toward a spawn was more like wading in neck deep water.
I admit to doing the same thing without thinking about it in my first mission. But it was only one mission with a slow, and making him a Lt actually fit the story better. I am not sure what will happen to his xp with I16, I don't remember what is and isn't standard for the powerset. Guess I will find out.
What standards do I hate fighting the most? Dark Ring Mistresses. I don't mind the rest of the Carnies at all, but the DRMs make me avoid their missions.
My favorites on my tank are split. I love finding a couple of Warhulks and/or Fake Nemesis and beating them up. But for standard missions, I never get tired of beating on 5th Column. I am really glad to see them coming back into the game. -
I like the first comment. He didn't like CoV because of the "the steep penalties for dying on a mission." Steep? What game was this guy playin? There are barely any penalties for dying, none in the first 10 levels except for having to run back to the mission from the hospital. Even back in the first days of the game, with full debt from the beginning, it was nothing to get rid of it.

Crap. Forgot it was on at 7. You guys going to have archives? I can't seen any on your site.

I haven't played your arc and have no opinion of it one way or the other, but I have to say, I totally disagree with this statement. When I log into a mission and it is on this map, I always groan. It is a large map, with confusing geometry and many nooks and crannies that have to be checked for glowies and/or mobs. If the map fits the story, I don't hold it against the author, because I know what I have been through trying to find good maps for my arcs. But I never, ever like that map.

I have a comment from you on my Future Skulls arc, but there is not date for the review in it.

Glad you found that, I knew I had read it somewhere. As for why there are Dev's Choice marked as Work in Progress, when the settings were put in, all existing arcs were marked that way automatically. But the one's that are already a Dev's Choice can't be edited to change the setting. So they will remain with that setting, unless there is a way for it to be changed from the server end. Considering everything else that has been going on the last few months, fixing that, if it is possible, is probably very low on everyone's list.

Are you a member of the MA Architect global channel? Actually, there are probably more than one by now, searching for them is probably the best way to find specific ones for servers. And don't forget the Architect Chat channel either. Put a little blurb on those every once in a while while you are playing. I usually only do the Global once or twice a night, but I will use the Architect Chat more if I am switching between alts on different servers.

Quote:I saw it from a red name when they put the 3 levels in, but it is not in the patch notes anywhere. Is this specifically stated somewhere recently, because there are several of the DCs that currently read "Work in Progress?" If so, and they've instituted yet another seemingly arbitrary condition, that's just one more thing they're doing to irritate me. Even if I think it's "Final," I want to encourage feedback on my arcs. I've thought my arcs were "Final," several times already, and through feedback still managed to improve them... immensely. I'll go ahead and do it if that's one of the silly requirements, but I won't have to like it.
Seems pretty par for the course with a lot of the devs' decisions regarding MA lately...So it must have been in an interview before I15 went live. And actually, I can understand it from their POV. Limiting it to something the author considers Final, means they don't have to worry about the 10s of thousands that are still Works In Progress or Looking for Feedback. They can search on Final and find the things that the author thinks are good enough to be a Dev's Choice. The writer may be wrong, but at least he is confident.
And you can still make changes to something marked Final if you want to. It just means you are pretty much satisfied with it and are not going to be making anymore wholesale changes.
Quote:I have less than 100 plays on my Matchstick Women arc which I made during open beta, advertise quite often, have gotten it reviewed (and gotten mostly high marks) by almost every reviewer on this thread, advertise on my bios that the arc is based on, ran teams through it for testing, *and* have gotten nearly all positive comments. So there ya go. -
My advice is, go to the MA Stories & Lore forum, and use the Announce Your Creation thread. Then start a thread for your arc, including the title and a description of it. (Really, just putting the ID number up asking people to play is not the best way to build interest.)
After that, look at the various reviewer threads and see what criteria they use (Some you have to play their arcs, others will only do humor, etc.) If your arc fits what they want to play, ask them to put it in their queue. Then wait. -
Quote:Well, the first thing you have to do is set your arc to Final, not Work In Progress or Looking for Feedback. After that, I think praying to the deity of your choice is your best bet.As far as figuring out how to get the Devs to see it... good luck on that one. It seems to be a very well guarded secret. If you figure it out, write a book. You'll make a mint.
My first arc has ~280 ratings so far. I have feedback comments from 65 different people, but about a half dozen of those were reviewers from here on the forum telling me they had run the arc. Personally, about the only time I don't give some feedback is for obvious farms and those I give a roundabout form of feedback by reporting them.Sometimes it is just a "Good story, really enjoyed playing it." other times I have sent 5 tells to the author full of typos, ideas, and things that stuck out for me.
