    No, just no.

The difference being that I don't join a Citadel thinking "This will be fun..."

It's the Manticores that always trick me.
  2. Supposedly, the "PM" maintenance thing was a typo and referred to the usual Tuesday AM maintenance.
  3. Dear Sister Psyche,

Totally thinkin' 'bout your underwear. Whatcha gonna do about it?

I don't need to do any of that stuff. I'm not in competition with anyone, and I don't really care that SuperDude got his level shift a few weeks before me. I'll do the stuff at my own pace, just like I've always done. I just look at it as giving me more options on what to do when I log in.
*Shrug* I'm speaking in generalities. Obviously, individual cases will always stand the chance of differing. If you don't think there's been a heavier emphasis lately on priming lvl 50's for the next round of incarnate content and a decrease in action in the mid-ranges as a result... you're welcome to your opinion there but I'd have to disagree.

  6. There's a general impression of "I need to get all my 50's up to speed NOW because next issue, all this stuff will be obsolete and then I'll have to spend MORE time trying to get up to I19/20/21/22/etc standards while the finish line gets FURTHER away" that hasn't existed prior due to the easily attainable level cap and static nature of the game once you're there. I can't say it's a bad thing since most MMORPGs seem to run this way with level/gear/raid progression but it's certainly a change in the neighborhood.

No longer can you just hit 50 and casually work on your build or say "Time to start over!". Now you need to unlock that alpha, get your shards, work your way up to level shift, worry about whether you need your ultra-rare for the next tier of slots, and whatever comes after that. It seems to discourage some of the casual alting you'd see before, for better or for worse.
  7. Beyond the most basic reward/time equations, the Weeklies give a series of badges for running the same TFs over and over and over and over...

If you're interested in the badge, it's in your best interest to make the TFs as short as possible. Luckily, you seemed to have figured out a solution -- set up your own TF and set your own rules/goals. Especially for the high end TFs, kill-all ("shard runs") seem popular enough.

    No, just no.

Manti TF is like bowling for me. Seems like a good idea at the time and starts out fun (Weee! Mow down fields of Crey!) but, by the end, I'm saying "Huh? My turn again? Yeah, okay, I guess... *roll* ". Nothing puts me in that late-TF fugue state quite like a Manti.

The fact that it has one of the least interesting ending AVs ever doesn't help.
  9. Running the cape mission at lvl 50 "awards" you with a lvl 49 TO. I put my lvl 49 Accuracy TO in Brawl

There is not but both red and blue side can run AE arcs in the Rikti War Zone. I realize this might not be keeping with your theme to have to dodge Rikti invaders on the way to the AE but that's the best you can do if you want all AT's.

A polo shirt is short sleeves but, what you're describing, sounds like the "Sleeves" option under Smooth/Bare. Unless I'm understanding wrong.

Do you mean you want to be able to pattern the blue sleeves? I could see that but I guess it's the same issue as patterning any other bare skin & clothes area.

If you get the bug for costuming, feel free to drop by the Screenshots & Fan Creations part of the boards and show off your new ideas or ask for creative assistance. See the stickied threads up on top of that forum for the appropriate (and very popular) threads.

    CoX Game Cards

You can get them online but, if you're buying time cards rather than subscribing outright, you might have a reason for not wanting (or able) to use a credit/debit card.

    Powers -> Combat Monitor

From which you can select items to be monitored in their own window (the small box on the bottom)

I want to know what the "Mary" button does.

"Toon" feels a little dismissive to me and, more to the point, just feels inaccurate since a "cartoon" is something I watch, not something I play. Heck, even the characters in cartoons aren't called "toons" but characters. I realize there's media where characters get called Toons (such as Disney's Toon Town) but that's a special effort being made to say "these characters are refered to as capital-T Toons"

I don't really care if anyone else refers to their characters as toons or cartoons or comics or animes. It's just not something I'd do.

  19. I'm getting close to 50 now with my KM/SR scrapper and thinking about my next project. I have a Katana/Fiery Aura scrapper sitting around level 22-ish and waiting to bloom but, to be honest, I'm not sure what to do with her. I'm not looking for a build but are there any general thoughts on the combination? My last couple characters defensively have been positional defense oriented and that was easy enough to noodle out. I'm not convinced of the synergy between Katana and Fiery Aura with the latter resistance based and the former all about Divine Avalanche for the +Def. But I haven't played it enough to know, either.

I like the character concept and would like to slog through it regardless but if anyone knows what I'm getting into, please speak up. Either way, I'm sure it'll be a paradigm shift from the raw +Melee/Ranged/AOE DEF mindset.
  20. I got so tired of my Earth/Storm controller's low damage (Gale.. Gale.. Brawl.. Gale.. Gale..) that I dropped half her Primary/Secondary powers and respec'd her into Boxing, Kick, Flurry and Air Superiority figuring that I'd switch her out at some later date once I no longer needed this wealth of melee damage options.

Ummm.. yeah. The "later date" came about two hours later. Wow, that was a bad choice. At least I realized it before embarrassing myself on a team and was low enough (lvl 22-ish?) that I just restarted her from scratch on her secondary build and bought all new enhancements.

I was thinking about this the other day. I have no idea how easy/difficult things like animated holsters or backpacks on the back node or adding leg nodes is. But, they do already have things such as arm bands under the Shoulder options that could be used to make arm pouches or knife sheathes or whatever. They also have insanely long hanging belts (such as the martial arts ones) that could instead be a scabbard or other hanging pouches, ammo, etc. And, of course, the Chest detail option that already has the Stealth (?) one with a few pouches can be build upon to make a "detective" style gun holster or more pouches, etc. In short, even without changing anything about the character models now, they could really add a lot of these details that people have been asking for.

Yeah, the holsters/scabbard wouldn't animate or anything but either leave them empty or give an "empty" or "filled" option and let the player decide which they like better.

  23. I know Samuel_Tow has moved on from the tribal cow thing but I decided to force myself to make three female tribal costumes, not using rough leather, just as an exercise in creativity. Next time I need to make a rule of "No Bones" Not having the skirt option with monstrous legs is a real tough hurdle to clear.
