Yeah, sounded like an interesting idea until LL brought me back to reality.

It is a bit of a slippery slope, but the way I see it is that as long as I'm in their company, it's all gravy. The more VIP stuff I use in their presence, the more tempted they might be to go VIP themselves. Whereas if I relegate myself to the VIP server, the free players won't be able to see any of my sweet VIP lootz to be tempted.
-
Personally, I won't be transferring any characters, nor starting any new characters on the VIP server. The more people that stay on their home servers, the better the game will look to those who are thinking about trying it when it is free to play. By staying on servers that are open to Free players, we can help to make the game a larger success. New players will be turned off if they log on and see that the VIP server is 3 dots in the red and all the other servers are less, but if the VIP server is relatively empty, they'll know that we aren't elitists who think less of them because they can't or don't want to pay for the game.

I never used it before either, but I will definitely be replacing that if it is still possible. Not a fan of Statesman to begin with and the BCU/ACU/ICU? just seems out of place. I know they look "cool" but I'd rather have seen a warwalker. And... White? Ugh, thanks for trying to blind me. Here's hoping they don't do something stupid like remake the whole creation process and give it a white background. White is the *worst* background color. *shrug* Guess we'll see...

Quote:It doesn't actually matter what sort of Endurance boosts you may have. As Emberly said, the proc gives you 10%, not just 10 endurance. So the proc always averages out to 0.2% end/s while a regular IO in the first slot will give you 0.18%(iirc)end/s.At base endurance, even QR is better off with the proc. If you have the accolades or other +max end, it is ever so slightly better to slot the end mod IOs from lvl 35 on (or make sure to keep them at +3 SOs), but I think the utility of the perfshift proc outweighs the small end gain from the regular IO (when hit by a recovery debuff, the proc can still give you end, while the regular IO has in essence been stunted.

Quote:That can be simplified to T = V+2(G+I)+P+2After all this I'm now picturing Arcanaville coming in and presenting a formula like
T = (V + (2 * G) + (2 * I) + P + 2)
Where V is the number of years veteran.
G = 1 if you own Going Rogue, else = 0.
I = 1 if you were present for the I12 release, else = 0
P is slots purchased
T is total Tokens you get.
Although, I do find amusement in the acronym formed by the way you explained the variables (Ve gypped!). -
Quote:I must ask... Are you aware that you can place more than one of each enhancement type in a given power? Also, some of the enhancement types you are using are not impacting performance at all or very little. It looks like you just put one of each allowed type into all your powers. This will not be optimal 90% of the time. Your personal attacks would be much better off slotted with one accuracy, three damage, an endurance reduction, and a recharge reduction; that is, if you intend to 6-slot them. As a Masterming, your personal attacks probably don't need as heavy slotting as your pets. And on that note, your pets don't really need their secondary effects enhanced. I'm not very experienced with MMs, but I'd say that slotting them with multiple damage enhancements would probably be a good idea.Here are the links(look at the yellow markup):
In this one see the 3 slot/enchancement choices?

In this one, will Time Manipulation be like TP where there are 3-4 choices and then you get to decide what to slot?

Honestly, I would much prefer option one than the latter...unless they up the slots per character for those characters that them. -
I'd like it. I haven't really bothered with much of the incarnate stuff beyond alpha because nothing else really feels right for most of my characters.

I originally made this image to help people when the switch started, so it has some info you don't need, but you can see what needs to be done.
-
Also, to put it in terms you might remember:
Old Solo = New Solo
heroic/villainous = +0/x1
tenacious/malicious = +0/x2
rugged/vicious = +1/x1
unyielding/ruthless = +1/x2
invincible/relentless = +2/x1
As you can see, with the new way, you have much more control over what kind of fights you will be getting into.
The only thing about the new system is that you can't actually get as many mobs to spawn as you used to be able to get. Tenacious and Unyielding would spawn mobs as if you had an additional person on your team, so when you had a full team of 8, the spawning equation would count your team size as 9. Now, since the spawning equation uses either your setting or your actual team size, whichever is higher (both of which cap at 8), you get slightly fewer mobs than you would using Tenacious or Unyielding before. -
Quote:This is one of the major reasons that I've stayed here since '05. I've played other MMOs and none of them have nearly as wonderful a community as CoH.Mostly because of how nice everyone was here. It's not often in an MMO community where you can actually ask questions and get help without being smacked over the head with some sort of "thou-shalt-not-be-a-newb" stick.
So thanks again and I'll definitely be back with more questions after I can stop playing for longer than five minutes.=)
And come back with your questions any time, someone will always be here to help. -
I admit, I didn't read 95% of the thread, so too bad if I repeat anything that was discussed.
I will transfer a 50 off of my home server of Guardian and remake him as a TW/WP Scrapper if, and only if, there is a nice looking two-handed Falchion option and the attack animations aren't super outrageous. I realize that some exaggeration can help sell the animation, but it's very easy to push it too far.
If there's a good zweihander or claymore, I'll make a new character for it.
If there's only a buster sword, a sword with little swords sticking out of it, a railroad post and other silly options; then no, I will not be utilizing the set at all. -
I fix.
But, um, yeah, you could, theoretically, place blank image files in the data directory that had names corresponding to the names of the images used for each bubble of xp graphic and the bar... But getting those names right would require, how should I put this, a certain amount of guesswork.
It'd be along the same lines as how people replace sounds that they find problematic, and also how the Splasher program works. It wouldn't get rid out the level in the circle, but you'd have no idea how close to a level you are anymore.
Unfortunately, one way of finding out those file names is frowned upon. So really, I'm just being a tease by mentioning it. -

Great, now I've got the Full House Theme Song in my head thanks to your thread title.

Quote:I didn't read the rest of the thread, so maybe something was said... But talk to your ISP. Since you're noticing issues on two computers with different specs, it's quite likely that it is a connection issue possibly caused by a router, or modem, or your ISP might be throttling your connection. Ask them if they are doing anything like that and if not, ask them to send a tech out and test your modem/router.because I really cannot see how things are not going to be worse. I realize I have an older PC. However ever since Issue 18 the lag has the worst I have ever seen. I never lagged and had so many mapserves. Even playing on my wife's Mac which is a far better machine that mine there are mapserve and lag issues.

You're funny. It would most likely not be a minor update. Granted, there is already code in place to determine whether to use the female or the male sounds; but this could actually make it more complicated. Any time you go back into old code and update things, there's a chance that something will go wrong. Actually coding in the extra voice options and making a menu option for it or an option on the character create screen; that shouldn't take too much time to do. But making sure to change all instances of the variable calls for the sounds and debugging; it would add up to quite a hefty amount of work. It'd be an easier task to add this feature to a game that didn't have any sound at all.

Quote:I think that video gave me ADD. I had to stop watching it, the cuts every other second were too much, I have no idea what was going on half the time. I saw a bunch of things flying around and heard bad music.
Something less spastic than that and using propel's item list, ok, I could get behind that as an option. -

Yeah, nothing shows up in the droid app search. I was all excited, I just got a droid the other day and still looking for apps to add onto it. Thought this would be a perfect one.
