Suggestion to make my Game Immersion better and maybe yours too.
I've got to admit, my reaction to this is - "er, what? That bugs you, when randomly exploding with light doesn't?"
Plus, not only can you move the level/health/etc indicators around (and drop another set on your head if you want,) but they do serve a purpose, especially with SSKing - where your level can and will change, depending on team/mission/etc. with some frequency.
It is small and out of the way. I'm just not seeing how it can be all that "immersion breaking," personally, compared with the rest of the UI (or civilians pushing around a tanker that an AV can't budge, or so many other things in this game.) I know, it can be "one of those things," but still...
Not really sure why Memphis, just kind of annoys me. I have tried hiding it behind the map and that works somewhat but I still get to see the pink XP bar creeping upwards.
The randomly exploding light you are refer to is when you level up right? Nope, that doesn't bother me at all actually. Think it would be fun if it came as more of a surprise though.
I know that the lvl circle serves a purpose. I just would rather not have to see it all the time when looking at my health.
Enjoy your day please.

Ope...Just found the Window Opacity option. This will help me hide it while I wait for everyone else to realise how great it would actually be.

I believe "/windowscale health .8" will scale just the health/endurance bar down to 80%. You can also scale all of the windows at once in your graphics options.

Thats a neat trick as well. Thank you for teaching me how Fleeting Whisper.

Least your current combat level has a relation to the game mechanics. The real immersion breaking stuff, to me, are the badges solely based on how much money you -- the real world you -- have given NCSoft and when. Anniversary badges, DVD edition badge, Passport badge, veteran badges, loyalty program badges. People can tell, with /info, whether I logged in during May 200X or which edition of the boxed game I bought? Really?

Sharker_Quint says don't inhale: ok, maybe for you it would be great. for others though, i wouldn't hold your breath. |
Dec out.

One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?
Just wanted to point out that the Passport badge has nothing to do with buying anything. It will tell you that I used to play on the US servers, then used the free transfer to the EU when they opened up.
Plus, it really annoys the most compulsive Badgers who didn't start that way.
However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator
If having a green bar indicating my HP doesn't break my immersion, and having a blue bar indicating my Endurance doesn't either, then an indicator of XP and Level certainly won't bother me.
Goodbye may seem forever

You know what breaks my immersion in the game?
The fact that I'm sitting in a chair looking at a computer screen. Then, just when I start to feel like I'm really a superhero, a cat jumps into my lap and ruins the whole thing by bringing me back to reality.

It's when said cat is wearing a mask and cape that you really have to worry...
There's little these days that I worry about re: immersion, possibly because I've been around so long I just ignore it.
I'm pretty sure you can track both health and endurance via Combat Attributes if you need to watch your stats but don't want to see the main menu.

OK yeah. I can admit it now. This was kind of a dumb suggestion.

I fix.
But, um, yeah, you could, theoretically, place blank image files in the data directory that had names corresponding to the names of the images used for each bubble of xp graphic and the bar... But getting those names right would require, how should I put this, a certain amount of guesswork.
It'd be along the same lines as how people replace sounds that they find problematic, and also how the Splasher program works. It wouldn't get rid out the level in the circle, but you'd have no idea how close to a level you are anymore.
Unfortunately, one way of finding out those file names is frowned upon. So really, I'm just being a tease by mentioning it.

I'd also like the option of having the Level gauge being disconnected from the health endurance bar so that I could close it without closing the health/End
I've currently got my windows down to 65% and still would like the option of having that gone

Hi there. You know those days when you are minding your own business, strolling between the Magic Shop and Wentworths in Talos when those bothersome Tsoo take offense to your lime green costume?
What happens? A fight breaks out naturally. No one should be allowed to tease you like that. And besides, you have been hunting Sorcerors off and on for a while now. Just a few more and you will make a name for yourself and get a reputation.
With the Dragon Enforcers doing more damage then you think they should you glance over to check your Health and Endurance.
....WHAM....
A Big Glowing Circle proclaiming that you are level 23 sits there.
Just sitting there, not really doing anything at all. Ooh look at me. No don't glance away. You need to be reminded that you are lvl 23 constantly.. Oh, and look there. The little bars that tell me how much xp I need till I level again.
This kind of breaks my immersion for some reason.
I would like to suggest that we have an option to just view our Health and Endurance somewhere on the screen. Doesn't have to be fancy. A green and blue bar (that we can move to where we want) with nothing written beside them would be enough. It might be nice to have the Health and Endurance that is missing as a black bar or something, just so we know how much we are down.
Yep, thats about it. I think I have made like 3 lists of QoL additions I would like but have never gotten past the jotting it down stage. So this must be my most important one.
Or maybe I will begin to to annoy you more often.
Thanks for coming by.
Bashful Banshee.
Oh yeah, while I'm here...
Getting tired of running the same lower level content over and over while waiting the arrival of Rogue? Try an arc from @Khonshu. There are 6 or 7, not really sure. But I have played most of them, more then once for some. The stories are well thought out, the pace of the missions are nice, and they have unique voices each and everytime.
In case you are wondering @Khonshu isn't me....just really enjoy the work. If you want to try something from me search @Bashful Banshee and try the one with the kitty cats. I would type out the full name but its way too long to bother with and I am much too lazy to look up the arc #. Believe it might have a 7 in it. Might be wrong about that though.
Enjoy your day please.
