    The Blue Room

I have a character on Freedom that *should* still be in there. I logged him out after someone showed me and never played him again. I'll log on in a few minutes and check and then update this post.

edit: Logged him in, he is still in that room. If anyone wants in, I think I can port you in.
  2. Since they've added it, I've been an advocate of adding the same functionality as the iTrials/TuT. As soon as each wave spawns or maybe as soon the group is defeated, it should pop up with a window that has a "Vote to Spawn next wave" button. If everyone votes to spawn, then the next wave spawns. The voting would be anonymous as it is with league events. I think this would be the best solution to this.

Which meant that as I fought (using the 1 and 2 keys as some of my main single target powers) my auto power would change, and probably fire off both of them as they recharged, as long as I didn't button mash too wildly. Between combats, quickly pres 1 or 2 to set the one you think will come up next as auto.

In Wentworths or social situations, pressing either key twice makes the auto power deactivate.

Its not perfect, but it works quite well.
I like this and hadn't thought about it before. I will use this on my SS/SR Brute. Gets a bit annoying keeping track of Hasten, Rage, and Practiced Brawler.

I was on a respec the other day. I tried several times to initiate conversation by sharing anecdotes... No luck. Everyone else seemed content to just stand there not saying a thing and wait for the next wave. One of the most boring respec trials I've ever been on.

In case you couldn't tell, that was sarcasm. It's just a symbol. It doesn't imply anything about your character besides their general alignment.
Thank you for mentioning that before I was able to get in here and say the same thing.

Seriously though, both symbols are tied to something. In the case of villains, at least it's an entire organization with multiple sects and many different goals. In the case of heroes, it is one single man. If anyone should complain it is the heroes in this case.

But really, doesn't' matter. It's just a symbol that doesn't have any bearing on gameplay or RP or anything once you're in the game.

I used to order hot dogs from a place that would label the hot dogs with acronyms, except for the ones with Mustard, onion and chili which they labeled as E for everything (that's what reminded me of this anecdote). Anyway, so I used to get chili and cheese all the time. Then I started experimenting and getting various combinations. Chili, cheese and ketchup; chili, cheese and onions; those were my favorites. One time I ordered Chili, onions, cheese, and ketchup. They didn't write the acronym in the order that I said it thankfully or I don't think I'd have been able to eat it.
  7. An interesting concept, but how would you suggest they handle powers? Switching the player's costume to look like what you want works fine for that aspect, but if your origin story tells the story of a fire/fire tanker and it's being played by an ice/ice blaster... Well, things aren't going to really match up if you reference your powers in the story.

Perhaps it could be handled like the Villain version of the first SSA where you get a few of Synapse's powers, but then the player would have all of their powers and some of "yours". In any case, it would be interesting to have selectable temp power "packs" to give to players while they play a mission.

Speaking of the league chat chime, I wish there was an option to enable a notification sound for any channel you're in and set a different one for each. I've got enough tabs open that I can't see all my channels at all times and sometimes end up accidentally ignoring a good friend of mine. If I could assign a ding to my channels, that'd be awesome.

  10. Sorry, yeah, should have been more specific, I was talking about Tips as Sam and Scythus said.
  11. I think Tudor or Lancet would be the archtype you want.

As for the archetype you want, it's already been covered by people who aren't jerks about spelling mistakes.
  12. I am seeing no images of said costume. When I hit "quote" I see the img tags, so I am assuming that you are actually linking to things which are not public access. Sounds like a good idea for a costume though.

Edit: Costume looks good. Would have been awesome in navy blue, but still good as is. I agree that a Sapper would have been more fear-inducing though. Also, you should have worn combat boots instead of sneaker, but that's minor.

And I am glad to hear that it was a failed attempt at trolling rather than a serious concern. heh

But yeah, thanks again for the link. Don't know if I'll be able to correct my sleep phases any time soon, but it's good to know what the hell's been going on with me for the past decade.
  14. What really gets me is when you get a "CLUE FOUND" message as you complete the mission. There's a few that you can switch up the order in which you complete objectives and manage to read all the clues, but there's others that I will *never* be able to read the clue for, and that bothers me since clues tend to be rather informative.

But yeah, with dialogue that is meant to be read, it would be much better if the event (hostility/ambush) happened when you clicked the final "Ok/Leave/..." rather than on the page before that.
  15. Well, even though it's technically a necrothread...

A kindle* of hellions sounds right to me.

*You'll have to scroll down to kindle². Kindle¹ isn't the full reason I chose it; with the two definitions together though, it makes perfect sense.

Interesting, I just found out that I likely have delayed sleep phase syndrome and not chronic insomnia. Thank you very much for that link.

I'm fine with the constant night in game though. I just wanted to say thanks for that link.

Yup, I used to solo freaks on Unyielding with 5-6 people on the team with no problem well before IOs were introduced. That character now has maybe 5 IOs in her build, it hasn't really changed much since then.

Fire/Kin controllers are already killing machines at 50 with SOs, adding a tweaked out set-IO build is just icing on the cake of death (cake or death?).

Was going to quote the OP, but your post was much easier to trim down. I just wanted to touch on this point.

The Field Analyst mission sends you to Croatoa the same way the the Talk to Ms. Liberty mission sends you to Fort Trident. Some conjecture on my part here, but I think I have it all figured out... When they created Croatoa, they needed a Field Analyst for the zone so they copied and pasted the Field Analyst from Steel Canyon. I'm not going to bother getting screenshots, but if you have a minute go take a look at them both. They are identical. Same deal with Ms. Liberty, she got copy-pasted into Fort Trident. There does seem to be something special about the two of them though, since many other fedex missions don't send you to Fort Trident when you're to talk to a character who has been cloned there. There's probably an ID variable that got switched at some point. When I ran Twinshot's arc in Beta, it correctly said to go to Steel Canyon. All that has switched on live is the location that it tells you though. I have run the arc on live and, while it told me to go to Croatoa, I simply talked to the Field Analyst in Steel Canyon and everything worked fine. Same thing with Ms. Lib, you can talk to her AP version without issue.

So yeah, it's not *really* sending you to Croatoa; it just wants you to talk to the Field Analyst that is in Croatoa. He is the same one that's in Steel Canyon though. It does need to be fixed to point to the correct location though; it'd be nice if they fixed the Ms. Liberty one too.

And on topic... I haven't been able to bring myself to run anything past Dr Graves' first arc. It felt like it was written for a specific character to run, like it was a single player game with a predetermined protagonist that we had no say about. Twinshot's arc didn't do that too much; there were a few instances where I believe my characters would have reacted differently, but nothing so jarring as Dr Graves' arc.

    3 questions

    1. It is my understanding that if you use the Alpha Slot Unlock Voucher, that counts as running through Ramiel's Unlock Arc on whatever character uses it. I have not tried this myself, but that is my understanding from everything that I have heard.

    2. As far as I know, there is no way to actually delete any incarnate abilities/pets that have been created. You could create every single pet from the Lore tree if you wanted/had enough time to spend creating them all.

    3. These particular proc (they are procs with 100% chance to fire, not globals like Performance Shifter's Chance for +End) IOs are actually best suited to being placed in auto or toggle power (like Miracle +Recovery in Health or Regen's Integration). When placed in these powers, they proc every 10 seconds (iirc). Effectively, this refreshes the two minute duration of the buff due to how the coding works in regards to buffs from one source. You will then always have the constant buff. That same code actually works to your benefit when zoning; each time you zone, you count as a different entity for buffs so the proc will end up adding to itself. So you'll end up with a short amount of time with double the buff every time you enter a mission. (Side note: I used to use this to double the defense buff that I could apply to teammates with my bubbler when I played her. Didn't mean we'd spend the entire mission with increased Defense, but it was helpful for the first group or two.) These procs essentially work the same way as chance for damage procs in offensive toggles; they just have a 100% chance to fire every 10 seconds instead of ~20%.
  20. Heh, you countered my second point with my counter to your first point. "It's just one key-press."
  21. 1. I'd kinda like that. But hitting tab before entering my password isn't that much of a strain.

    2. I'm against this. Reason: When I crash out and have to log back in and it tells me my account is already logged in after entering my password, I can just hit enter again and it logs me in without me having to close the window. I'd rather not lose this functionality. If your suggestion was implemented, I would lose it.

Did you purchase the costume set, or just select some pieces while at the tailor and purchase those pieces? There are two ways to purchase costume parts; individually or as a set. If you purchased the pieces you used individually, then you will only be able to use those pieces on any of your characters. So if you made a female wearing Victorian boots and a corset and purchased those pieces, then you can make as many females wearing Victorian boots and corsets as you want. Those will be the only pieces unlocked for you account.

Either you have encountered a rather strange bug and should check with customer service, or you didn't actually purchase the full set.
  23. It won't do any good at all if Cryptic sees this, they have nothing to do with the game anymore.

And I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for. Reapers? Scorpion?

Anyway, take a look over in the Screenshots & Fan Creations section, you can find some really good looking power suits made by players with what is currently available in the game.

    I can fly!

My mother has had this type of dream for years. She recently realized that she has sleep apnea . She woke up during one of her drowning dreams and found that she wasn't breathing in real life either. It seems that the reason for her having the dream was her subconscious mind reminding her that she can breathe.

So, yeah, it's a neat style dream to have; but you might want to get checked out.

As for me, I had a recurring dream when I was young. I won't bore you with the details, but the dream revolved around me needing to stop someone from ruining everything. I had this dream once a year for five years. The first time, the bad guy won and wrecked everything. Each time I had the dream, I stood up to the bad guy more and more until by the fifth year, I was flying around and super strong and totally kicked the bad guy's ***. Once I kicked his ***, I never had the dream again.

I still dream of flying on a somewhat regular basis.

My most interesting recent dream involved superpowers too. Somehow I had become a part of a family with ties to the fae. Half the family had ice-breath; the other half had fire-breath. (If you've ever taken a look at my character list, you'll be able to guess which side of the family I ended up on). The dream was very interesting. By the time it ended I was nearly sure that I'd be able to wake up and breathe fire, or at least burning steam. The ironic thing here is that with all the fire/ or /fire characters that I have, none of them actually have the fire breath power atm.
