Id advise against this as well.
Combat jumpin give immobilize protection. And in my opinion great combat mobility.
Cloak of darkness has immob protection in it but id suggest you not try to fight with that running unless your endurance usage is under control.

Im actually REALLY surprised you've made it to lvl 27 without dark regen. Its the defining power of the set in my opinion.

If others havent stressed to you, let me, take that power as soon as it becomes available!

Id suggest a respec on your toon. Look up some of the /dark threads for when certain powers are selected.
  2. Create both, and whichever you like more, play that one!
    This game IS about alts.

For me it isnt hard to just remember my time as a Dominator and in that memory just picture myself doing a lot more damage. That is the underlying change that has occured as you have stated correct? Just more damage outside of domination. The archetype still is too fragile and genetically inferior in my opinion.

    This isnt about Dominators anyway.
You should try dominators again. The change really did make the AT overall MUCH better.
  4. The OP does have a point.
The way they're goin about it gives cause for concern but whatever.

The issue is bigger than the four examples they gave however.

Two examples off the top of my head.

    1. Anyone have extensive experience with gravity control compared to other control sets?
    2. Does dark armor really need to be as endurance intensive as it is?
  5. I have a 50 grav/thorn.

It has few if any IO's and probably wont ever get any.
Its fun though. Its great at eating alpha's under the right circumstances, ie I have a place to lose LOS to use WH with impunity.

Other than that I used the toon as a "battlefield commander" type. Wormhole for mob placement and thorntrops as area denial.
But theres other dominator combinations that can do that stuff even better (lookin at you earth control).

As long as your havin fun with the toon Id think thats all that really matters.

I didnt look at the build, If I were goin to put IO's into it, it would be +recharge to get perma dom goin.

    Just my .02 infamy.
  6. My own claws/ela was painful to lvl, managed to get him to lvl 30ish before it was shelved indefinitly.
  7. Defense debuffs are the bane of Ice/ tankers (and psi damage).

Whoever suggested ice/dark gets a gold star.
  8. That posted build has pvp IO's in it.
Id imagine between just the javelins and the Lotg +recharge's your lookin at a multi-billion dollar build.
If claws/invuln is the powerset combo you plan to use in pvp to get those IO's, good frickin luck. If you plan on buying those IO's good frickin luck.
  9. Cool concept.

Simple things like slotted defense in combat jumpin, Gaussian in build-up, and a steadfast unique can get you a rather large defense bonus to all to build off of.

Id let parry take care of your melee defense and try to softcap ranged and AoE.
+Recharge for healing flames to be up faster if you can manage it.

I was never a fan of the fighting pool until a recent respec on a kat/wp. It really does make a TON of difference in your survivability.

I could be completely off base here but Id look at some of the kat/da builds floating around and get ideas on how they softcapped ranged and AoE defense.
  10. Your not listening.

    Go to the pvp forums.

Claw's lack of buildup makes it suck for pvp.
And all lethal damage, which EVERYONE will have resists against.
  11. Read the patch notes to get caught up.
  12. I have to ask, with only 4 attacks selected how are you gettin aggro and "needing" more survivability?

If your in the thick of it, as you say, why wouldnt you take a more offensive approach and slot/take more blasts? I mean short circuit at 38? That attack is huge mitagation. 12 seconds to double stack and mobs arent attackin back AT ALL.

If your in the middle of melee and only buffin/healing how are you drawing aggro? Your goin for the "pure" healer build, whatever that is.

No offense meant but this might be a playstyle thing. If you run into a spawn and hit an AoE attack you can expect to get aggro. And then relyin on charged bolts to carry you through would be an even bigger mistake.

YMMV but down with teh healzors.

    Little Advice

The 2 sets are gonna play near identical.
The only deference being /inv will have dull pain.

As much as /invul has resists the trick is gettin into large spawns for invincibility to shine.

Both sword sets have parry/DA and the same basic attacks, albeit with different times and animations.

    At least thats my guess.
Ive never run up either combo specifically but ive run up each set to 50 on varies toons, ie kat, broadsword, sr and invuln.

And if you wanna pvp with a scrapper id suggest spines or fire with either rgn or wp.
  14. I think when GR comes out and Incarnates ALOT is gonna change.
Anyone see the villain/hero epic swap?
  15. Its sweet for sure Werner.

I think that the dm/inv brute your running up is gonna be just as fun!
With higher lvls and more slots in your AoE drains, "tankin" on that brutes gonna be hellafun.

Jumpin into a group low on end, dark consumption ftw (with a kickass damage boost to boot thanks to fury). Next group, jump into for soul drain (with a kickass damage boost thanks fury).

The first time I "herded" with darkest night I think I found nirvana.

Id love to hear updates from you on that toon.
  16. dm/sr
    dm/invuln
2 scraps that are almost fire and forget and incredible strong. With the caveat of lvl 22 and SO's, and maybe lvl 28 for invuln and invincibility.

Dm/Da is good as well. Dm/ filling in alot of holes of /da.

    Claws/Sr is fun.
  17. If I took it wrong then my apologies.

The root and animation time on hurl is killer. If the OP is having a difficult time avoiding multiple AS's let alone single AS's that root will only add to the problem.
  19. I have 1 thats IO'd.

Its my favorite toon by FAR. But it was alot of work to get it were it is.

As far as survivability, Ive yet to defeat an AV with this combo. As the trick of cobra strike/OG wont overcome the PtoD. The resists themselves arent enough to handle the damage an AV can do and if im stuck relying on DR for mitigation eventually I will bottom out my endo bar. I took the weapons epic for concept. Im thinkin about switchin it out for tough/weave to up my survivability. But its not really that important to me.

Other than that, this toon cruises through "normal" content at +2 X8 with no real issues. I could probably run freak/council at +3 X8. No enemy type that typically gives my other toons trouble are much of a threat because of the nearly complete protection /da has. Energy damage is a pain but isnt really that common. Ranged damage can put the hurt on me as well.

I dont use Mids so I cant post the build.

Off memory some tips to give...
    - Theft of essense +end proc helps TONS.
    - Slot a couple knock protection IO's, Not runnin accrobatics is key to endo management and I hate knockback.
    - Impervium armor. 4 slotted gives a nice endo recovery and max endo bonus.
    - Endurance accolades.
    - Some of the stun sets give good recovery bonus as well. Plus OG will take the chance for immob proc which is fun.

I think my end recovery is around 3.6 end per sec. That is without any of the health uniques. Endurance isnt an issue and that was the main thing I was tryin to accomplish with the build, endurance sustainability.
  20. Whats your point?
Are you giving me hassles because I made a typo?
I've got bad vision (20/400) in each eye, maybe my contacts were dry and blurry and I didnt pay close enough attention.

And your making the same point as I am regardless.

    AOE King?

But villainside maps suc for street sweepin.
  22. Id just like to say thanks for whoever listed the lvl 26 ToE +end proc heroside for cheap.

I STOLE it for 6 mil.

My kat/da scrapper REALLY appreciates having that in its build.

    Thanks again.
  23. Unarguably death is the best debuff.

    This

I have 1 at lvl 30ish im holding out to lvl till GR comes out and side switchin.
Endurance is an issue though. At least in my exp.

    AOE King?

I like street sweepin most in this game, all my toons play this way if im not on a team.

Scrapper is what you wanna play. And any combination will do.

Im currently having fun with a kat/wp, kat/da, and fire/rgn. All around lvl 42 or 43, and all lvl'd concurrently. These give me a good balance between AoE and ST so if an uplvl boss is there im not stuck doin AoE attacks to kill it.
Kill speed is more than adequate.

Check out a claws/sr, its hella fun. Someone quoted it as the "zen" of scrapping, I couldnt agree more.
