  1. While Mercs is meh, DM is great just its self.

Almost every single power in Miasma helps Mid damage.

Tar Pit-Drop it on every spawn and with enough recharge you can double stack it.

Darkest Night-Use it on the biggest **** and watch is damage and ACC drop as well as those around em

Howling Twilight-No its not a rez its a AoE Stun that just happens to rez ppl also, Tar Pit+Howling Twilight=Almost AoE Hold like

Fearsome Scare-Drop a Range IO and keep most of the spawn scared while you make yer merc take em down 1 at a time.

Petrifying Gaze-Use along with the APP/PP Hold and bam you can hold boss's and with enough recharge even EB's

Fluffy-Oh fluffy, Heals/Fearsome scare/and Petrifying Gaze yummy stuff.

However, none of the APP's they gave to dom's really suck - they are all pretty nice and add more area attacks and other tools. You won't lose out by taking any of them if you don't like the ice theme for whatever reason.
Exactly, number wise Ice beats the rest for my build(Fire/Psi). While I'm not a /fire I'd still like Fire Mastery just for the bam aoe damage instead of another DoT. Also with the new I20 Trials would having more Resist help for survivability?

Since you're permadom/hasten, defense shouldn't be a huge deal since you're locking mobs down and sapping their end while preventing them from getting it back.
Yea I know Hoarfrost ups Hp which ups regen I just skipped the up hp part =)

Ya mean Sleet/Ice Storm? Instead of Sleet/Ice Storm i'd have Fireball/Rain of Fire goodness. Just seems like a alot more damage.

    Dom APP/Epics

Enjoying a Fire/Psi Dom and have gotten up to 41 and rdy to take a APP/Patron up till now I'v been planing to go with Ice as the Hoarfrost is great for the extra hp which means more regen and Frozen Armor for softcap but I'v got to thinking with Accolades I'v got near capped hp and with enough hits on my PD I have capped regen as is. I'm 2 small purples away from softcap D which I dont mind using if I need to take alpha. I dont have the slots for Sleet or Ice Storm really so they are there but Ice Storm is Meh, Sleet is great but I'm kinda leaning toward Fire Master now.

Fire Mastery will gimmie 50% S/L resistance(with tough), a Damage Now AoE(Fireball which will be 5 sloted) and Rain of Fire which with a aoe root is just killer. And for kicks a self-res. I thinkin with the new content Fire might be better suited as softcap D is just not enough and the extra resistance would help alot.

    Let me hear it

Ahh will have to keep that in mind.

Not to sure but I am considering going with Fire Mastery instead of Ice. I find without Hoarfrost I'm at max regen when fully saturated, and without frozen armor I'm 2 small purps away from softcap if they ever get a chance to hit me. So while Sleet is nice and Ice storm is ok going Fire Mastery will net me Fireball and Rain of Fire which along with my Holds/Psi aoes will wipe grps quick. Along with Fire shield which will get me 50% S/L Resistance. And for craps and giggles the self-res is nifty.

So what ya think Ice or Fire? I'd love another just plain ol AoE that I could toss around. Safer HP/D or more AoE Pew pew

End use is ok. Sence I'm pretty much Perma DP I decided to drop the slots on Stam and Health. But cool thanks for the advance, I love the slots into Imps as I am finding they add some nice damage.
  8. Ok reworked it a little, fit in fly for concept/rp reasons.

    Perma Hasten/Permadom(170% Global)

Soft Cap S/L D(With hover and stealth ya got 50%)

2] Slotting up Psionic Dart. I'm not a huge fan of doing this. I put a Range IO in it and use it to pull. You'll have to rearrange a bit for it, but add 3 slots to your Imps. 4 of the higher level Intensive Recharge pet set (don't remember the name) will give you your 6.25% recharge back and boosts your imps' damage. The leftover slot you can keep in Dart or use it elsewhere. Maybe put a Range IO in psy scream?

Side note: I'm not certain of this but I don't know if that FF:Recharge will work for you in Bonfire since i think it is a pseudo pet.
Not sure what ya mean by Dominate as its a Fire Primy not Mind.
Good advice on the Imps and dart will take a look into it as well as yer other sloting advice.

Yea wasn't sure about the FF proc in Bonfire was hoping for somebody to tell me if it worked or not.

  11. Wife has a plant dom so kinda wanna run with something else and I'm not a fan of the plant pet even though creepers and root is awesome(as well as the confusion).

I feeling the fire so think I'm gonna go with that and imps look fun =)
  12. Wanna play around with a toon with Drain Psy and I'v tried a Blaster and I just cant stand not having good Mez protection so going Dominator and lookin at what I would have between Blaster and a Dom I gotta say I like the Dominator toys better.

Planin on makin this bad boy tommorrow and cant really decide on a Primary atm.
Currently leaning towards Fire, Good damage to add on with Psi. But I would love some options on those who have experience with ?/psi

    Tanks in Advance.

    Best VS Avs

Melee wise, I'd go with DM/SD Brute or Scrapper but I always lean towards the brute for more hp. My DM/SD Brute rips AVs up, I was doing a Mayhem and forgot to craft some envenomed Daggers and ended up with a Hero, I though hey let me give her a try and I owned her quick without -regen.

Other then melee ya got Bots/Traps MM and Ill/Rad Troller.

If so, then the answer is no. Unless your wife is playing some sort of debuffer. Solo wise it will be a stand off. You won't be able to over come the AV regen and such but your defense will allow you to heal up between hits.

Either way Traps debuffs will work better with her debuffs for stacking reasons. Again assuming your wife is gonna play a debuffer.

Trust me 50 levels of bubbling will get annoying I have one. Its defense capped including pets. It just does not offer the fun and abilities Traps does. Its safe as heck. Its pretty much push mobs out of melee range with force bolt and direct your pets to kill each mob in a group and move onto the next. The biggest issue is keeping your pets inside your repel bubble and out of melee range.

What also matters if your going with IO set bonuses or just generic IOs ? Generic then I would Say FF as your going to obtain Defense cap for the pets at least that much easier.
Wife plays more DPS types and sometimes CC, shes more a blaster dominator style of play. I'v been playing Brutes normally for tankage(currently in love with my DM/SD brute) and it works with whatever toon she picks, I'v just been wanting to try out the Bots MM for a while and was thinkin that the Force Fielder would help out more but ya know I think I'll go Traps it does look more fun.

Side Note---Do your Protector bots bubble the force field Generator?

I did a search it that and I saw more Traps then FF for sure but am unsure of the reasons. While I know Traps is great and more active I am leaning towards FF for the teaming(my wife doesn't understand the concept of defense yet). Just kinda wandering if I go FF would I still have that Bots MM that can take out GMS?

OK looking to try out a Bots MM and looking on advice for which secondary? I am leaning towards FF for teamage and bubbles but traps does look a little more active and fun.

I had a DB/FA got em to 50 and rerolled em. I got tired of the redraw, I know it really doesn't slow down dps I just got tired of it. So I would suggest a Armor thats not to active power heavy(like FA). I'd go anything but FA really, go invul, stone, or dark imo, its always nice to have a heal.
  18. What if you toss gloom into the mix of a DM/Soul Chain? On a Brute that is.
  19. Well you know you can just go Villian for a day complete the patron story arc and get access to the PPs. I would go Soul(I find Mu is more for farming)

But....if you are stuck over on Hero I'd go Pyre. Another AoE-Fireball, Char for a Stacking Hold with KO Blow I use this and perma hold EB's and Help perma hold AVs. Also Fire Blast for a ranged damage. 4 Slot Char w/Basilisks, 5 Slot Fire Blast with Devastation, 5 Slot Fireball with Positron's Blast.

Stupify in Boxing is for all the set bonus(except stun), putting 6 slots into one of defense powers and slotting it with Red Fortune or hell even any of the Set bonus's isn't worth it. Just like when ppl Slot Brawl for Kinetic Combat for S/L D I'm doing the same for Boxing in a way.

Also I'm kinda debating on dropping darkest night for One with the Shield, is One with the Shield any good? I would have close to 70% S/L Resistance and 300 more Hp along with more Endo recharge which all and all is good for a AV when they get through my D.
  21. After a few days of messing around my build I think I have finally got it. Some of the build is concept as it has fly/hover.

    Key Points-
    Moderate Budget
    146% Global Recharge(W/Hasten) (246% w/Proc)
    Softcap Positionals
Slaps out a 15% Defense Buff to the grp with Grant Cover and Maneuvers
    No Purples or Pvp Sets

Have room to toss in 3 Purple Sets-Midnights Grasp, Gloom, and Oblit along with a Glad Armor if ya feeling extra spiffy.

Holes in the Build are endo though I am playing it right now just hit 40 and dont have to much of a endo problem untill I hit Malta or Carnies but I feel thats b/c I use Dark Consump as a aoe instead of when I need it. If I find I have to much endo problems I may switch over to Cardiac instead of Spiritual, only difference is instead of 25s SC its 30s.

Well it looks like you are just going for damage and scrapper is the win, you go brute if you want near scrapper damage and tankage.

Solo go with a Scrapper. Reason to go Brute is to tank imo. Granted both do well but might as well play the strengths.
  24. I had the same problem, wanted to roll a DM/Shield and thought Brute or Scrapper.

    Brute-
Taunts on every hit, AAO works like a Taunt Aura.
    800 more Hp
Much better APP, I.E-Gloom, Dark Obliteration, Darkest Night= a Great Single Target Damage attack an Aoe Attack on a good timer and a great debuff.

    Scrapper-
Overall A little more damage, this imo ranges most from attacking 1 or a few targets you will have better dps then a brute b/c of raising fury. But if a Brute is fully saturated and has a 75% fury bar the damage isn't to much of a difference.

I went Brute as the damage between the two is not a huge difference and I wanted the passive Taunt.

But a SS/FA Brute or ?/FA/fire Scrapper will majorly out dps your FA/SS Tanker. Granted SS helps a ton with damage as you have 160% damage bonus, but what this guy is looking for is like saying how do I make a High Dps Defender.

You want a High Damage tank roll a Brute.

While I'm not trying to tell you how to play but I can make a Squisy Toon like a corrupter almost as tanky as a tanker(except for some situations of course) but you really cant make a low dps toon into a dps machine.
Well maybe if you have a personal Kinetics Defender following you around.
