Well you know you can just go Villian for a day complete the patron story arc and get access to the PPs. I would go Soul(I find Mu is more for farming)
But....if you are stuck over on Hero I'd go Pyre. Another AoE-Fireball, Char for a Stacking Hold with KO Blow I use this and perma hold EB's and Help perma hold AVs. Also Fire Blast for a ranged damage. 4 Slot Char w/Basilisks, 5 Slot Fire Blast with Devastation, 5 Slot Fireball with Positron's Blast.
I use Mu, the Fences, 6 slotted for the added def, a Posi Chance for dmg in ball lightning, and a centriole in mu lighting.. It's quite amazing the amount of AoE dmg you can get out with those + footstomp! <3 #1 Favorite solo/team/farmer..
Not saying my advice is the best, but it works for me.
A few key secrets.. Reactive Armors x5 K.Combats x5, 1 set of oblits, and the Res/Def IO, which I would add into Charged Armor, and then slot 4 more Reactives in Grounded.. 4 slot weave 1 slot lightning strike with EndRedux.

Mine is at 46.7%def to s/l, and can handle pretty much anything tossed at him.
You're well on your way mate! One of the most amazing toons to play once you hit the right spot!
Oh and went Spirit.Radial Boost.. Added 13-ish% regen

I personally went with Pyre until I got access to the PPP's. Fire Ball is a great attack, and while Fire Blast isn't as damaging as Mu Lightning and Gloom, it recharges faster(which is important for non-IO'd builds).
