  1. The work here just keeps getting better and better...kudos to all the artists!

The stained glass was truly unique and incredible, but the comic cover took me back to my youth and those classic "VS" covers. And the Swans battle...wow!

Very hard choice, as others have said. Nostalgia is making me smile even as I type this, so I vote Juggertha.
  2. Name: Jack Emmert
    Cause: GSW
    DOD: 1-14-2008
  3. Man, there is a LOT of great stuff to start this off!
Kudos to everyone - can't WAIT to see how this years contest unfolds!

For February though, a choice must be made in order to vote. Not an easy process, as others have said, but Rosen_ice gets another vote - love the suction cup arrow!

    Bellbottoms?

See this post from Ex Libris.

They, like their real-world counterparts, will be back - in style!

That's just weird. There is no Red or Blue forum. There is just the forum. The color is just a skin. You can use whichever one you want. I don't know why either wouldn't work for you. It's certainly not a universal problem.

Unless it has something to do with the two different website addresses. For ex., at my work, boards.cityofvillains.com is blocked while boards.cityofheroes.com is not.

    /shrug
  6. I forget the exact name of the visor, but it's under Half Helmets, Detail 2 IIRC.
  7. Gave this a whirl to flesh out a half-formed idea in my head:

    Artemis 2.0

((Sorry I forgot to include the bow, but its compound w/laser sight using the gold color))
  8. Hmmm...are they made with real Girl Scouts?

Congrats on the baby and best wishes for many happy years ahead!
  9. Spinomania and Aerones, with Crimson a VERY close third.

Though I freely admit the only reason I didn't vote for Tricky was the immunity...great work to all the artists!

I *knew* there was a reason his name rang a bell! I loved that book....

That's awesome! I drew the Zodiac characters to show my skill to Hero Games, but they didn't want anything to do with them unless there was a module written to go with the art... so I wrote them a module. I still have all those original hero drawings.

I'm honestly blown away that people still remember (and use) those characters =)

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the current HERO campaign I play in, Taurus, Cancer and the ship (Zodiac 1? that's what its called in our world anyway ) have all made appearances. Our PC team even helped Taurus get control of the ship back!

Thank you Doug, for both the great module then and the great art now!
  11. Well since Arctic's link is broken and I can't find his deviant site, I'll log a vote for Projectionist based on the criteria of the OP.
  12. Say, that's pretty good considering they keep telling us the forums represent...what is it now?...2-3% of the player base?

You're still ahead by a factor of 10 at least!
  13. I would guess Starwind is referring to the "shiny" metal texture or pattern that was introduced with CoV for many villain pieces (gloves, shoulders, belts, and boots all have some "Metal" options).

If you have the GvE edition, or your account was around for the one time CoH/V combination NCSoft did last month, you should have those options available for heroes as well.

    The Alt Alphabet

    Prepare your frighteners then!

From Ironik himself, further up the thread somewheres:
    [ QUOTE ]
I only have the one account. I screenshot and demorecord any alts that I delete for a new idea. (I give away all their money, inspirations and salvage to lowbies when I do delete them. Usually.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

  15. Well done all! Great homage to DC!

((And yes, the comics geek in me got them all pretty much at first glance))
  16. Looks like Justice w/Pads to me. That's the Hero costume set from the GvE edition IIRC.
  17. Suburb, I think Ex is asking for artist information here. Her DJ and Radio station thread is under Player Events.
  18. Went for costumes, as, of the choices, that is what I like most the game currently...well the whole creator really.

That said, I really REALLY wanted to pick storyline, and I hope if this poll is to judge dev team focus/concentration/emphasis, that storyline gets it. There are many many good stories and much lore out there - the only thing that kept me from liking it best were game mechanic issues. I don't know if things like repeating the same missions over and over and other teammates' not being able to shar in the mission story are even practically fixable, but I would just like to see enough *oomph* to story to make me forget the limitations of the mechanics.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
That's a shame. I think that'd be an excellent setting for a sandbox-style game. Besides, Greek stuff is cool.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is one in development, just not by Cryptic.
    It's called Gods and Heroes.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Of course, not an everyday thing (or even the same character,) but holidays lead to some fun costumes too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    True dat!

And here's Briar Puck's usual look for reference.
  21. Second Lady_athyna, BillZBubba, and Cuppajo.

Also how about Frost, Texas_Longhorne, and/or Missy K?

Oh and for a bit of humor, you could do one with Positron off to the side saying "All those guys are grey to me...no pic!"

    ((what? It's Monday morning :P ))

aside from a few purists, people said that things like aliens were Natural origin since from their planet they are nothing special. I beleive even a dev posted in that thread agreeing with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If a Dev said so at that time, I wonder why they turned around and published a manual definition that explicitly referenced humans and the limits of human ability.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just to provide factual context, I believe this is the in-game description of Natural origin:
    [ QUOTE ]
A natural hero isn't "super" at all; his amazing talents are derived from intense training and innate abilities. He may have been guided since birth to become the physical specimen that he is, or perhaps some tragedy has driven him to seek perfection.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I can certainly see the genre "staple" of a non-superpowered human in this, nowhere does it mention humans explicitly.

I suspect it is the "innate abilities" part that many (including perhaps the redname from long ago) pick up on to explain the more super superpowers.
  23. Try IanTheM1's Costume Shoppe maybe?

Sorry, no CoH at work (probably a good thing for my emmployers )
  24. [ QUOTE ]
There was some talk about a set of 'epic pools' for players who chose not to ally themselves with a patron; has this gone by the wayside, or is there going to be a set of pools for the 'unaligned' villains?

    [/ QUOTE ]

An excellent question...one that got buried during the "no-posting" time it seems. (I did skim the 100+ posts since, but did not see anything)

And a follow up question based on in game story: will those villains who chose to go the mercenary route (IE Burke over Kalinda to start) even be ABLE to get these patron powers?
  25. Thanks for bringing this back, Pol!...added to sig (hope that's ok )
