Best is to have Ninja/Beast Run on for forward momentum while using the jump pack. If you don't have Ninja/Beast Run, then an extra slot in Hurdle and Combat Jumping (for control while in the air) is the way to go. Then jump just enough to get yourself over the obstacles you need to - basically, get up there and then use quick bursts.

Oh, Dimension Shift isn't poorly designed. It and Detention Field just need to have a tiny tweak to turn them into foe-affecting toggles (like Radiation Infection & Enervating Field) with a 30s duration (or whatever the timer is on 'em now; like Hibernate). They'd definitely need to be expensive, though, perhaps 1.04/s.
-
Oh, you could, but then you'd have to put up with the whines from AoE addicts about everything now being scattered.

Quote:The message in question. This in from Black scorpion: You may now set your character to ignore +Movement buffs =O
So you'll still get the +end from SB, but not the +run. Everyone wins! -
Quote:Couldn't find any option to add a card under billing summary - only that it had no card info.So putting in a Credit Card on File under billing summary doesn't let you buy server transfers unless you buy something else first? (I look there and it lets me change or remove. Can't recall if I've ever use the in-game store after changing the card yet before buying a pack though...)

Ugh. Horrible that Speed Boost is included. :/ Now I've got to hope that every Kin I run into announces that he's going to cast it so that I can get the Hell out of the way. (I move a *lot* in combat, so Speed Boost is *only* a penalty as it makes precise movement virtually impossible)
-
They give out free server transfer tokens, that you can use at will, every once in a long while, so we KNOW there's no real reason to not make the transfers storable. They should use that system and let us buy transfers (and bonus character slots since those are already global and you can choose where to put them - rename tokens could probably be set the same way, as well) from the NCSoft Store.
I wouldn't mind taking advantage of the sale to move one of my two L50s over to Justice (from Freedom), but with no credit card on file (unless I use it to buy something else from the NCSoft Store first, which has nothing I want), that's impossible. :/ -
Ditto. 5 minutes after the red text across all chat tabs (Gods, that is so annoying, Devs - set it to only go to the currently-open tab. Can't be *that* hard!) announces the start of the event, I am off to Justice because there will be no point to trying to play on Freedom that night.
And look for server mergers by the end of the year if they deem these stress tests to be successful... (because why else would they need to stress-test the servers of a game with a fairly static population that is unlikely to grow?) -
Quote:Because anything that might possibly reduce the endless grind of what seems to be the Devs' preferred endgame methodology is a very bad thing, of course, and therefore must be discouraged.I couldn't agree with this more, if I was forced to. I'm getting a bit tired of being ripped off, especially when it comes to gated rewards. I've said it in another thread: if a Notice allows you to access a Rare component on the Alpha slot, it should convert to something that allows you to access a Rare component on the other slots. The same goes for Favors and Very Rares. Why should we be penalized twice?

I'd've thought you'd have plenty to do, at least once you get to 38 and take Force Bubble... Though I guess constant maneuvering to push away stuff with strong melee when your 'Bot insists on going up and giving it a kiss could get pretty draining after a while...
-
Other than not being able to buff your entire League, and probably being poison to your Participation score just keeping up with your own team, I'd've thought the extra 30% or so Def it brings would be quite welcome (at least by the melees) with the softcap being around 60% in the Trials...

Quote:Actually, 5% for Minions, 10% for Lietenant and higher, as per their inherent. (Stalkers are a 10% +3%/extra party member regardless of the opponent rank)as per paragonwiki.com
Scrappers get 10% for minion/Lts, 15% for bosses, stalkers get a flat 10%, with an increased 3% for each ally in range, its basically the same thing, which is exactly what i said, basically the same -
One valuable skill to acquire while playing Ninjas is to *not* let them pick their own targets, especially if there's a Boss hanging around. You lose Bodyguard (Follow + Defensive) when you order them to attack (edit that default macro - you do *NOT* want that "aggressive" there!), but when they concentrate on something, it goes down quite fast.
-
Nah. That'd take a bit of effort on the Devs' part. Can't have that.
-
Play it for a while (to 30 or so) before looking to IO it. It'll help you figure out which directions you'll want to go for sets.

Quote:Yeah, Borderlands (just started Playthrough 2 of my mainGoing outside of MMOs, well, most "body runs" are to get your stuff back. And sometimes gold/XP. I want to say more recent ones have avoided that (I don't THINK it was done in Borderlands, for instance.)
sends you back to the nearest New-U station with all of your gear. Costs a decent chunk of cash, however.

Quote:Nah. Unless you team a lot with something that can hold aggro, take Placate ASAP.I strongly suggest holding off on placate for a bit grabbing it later on in the build as taking it at 12 doesn't really help leveling
Whether it's used defensively to reduce the number of foes you have to fight at once or whether it's to Build Up -> Assassin's -> Placate -> crit with your best regular attack (getting Empowered in the process) on a Boss, it is one of your most valuable powers, even early on. -
Quote:Except, of course, that it's a situation from long before Demon Summoning went live. They didn't "nerf" it, it's just broken and they haven't fixed it yet.
Calling it a nerf implies that they did it on purpose, and I find it hard to believe that the devs would intentionally force pets with no melee attacks other than Brawl into melee all the time.
It's a side effect of the Demon pets AI having a heavy melee bias. -
Quote:There wouldn't be any such problems, if they took a little effort to do it right and did an actual merger rather than move-and-delete.Yeah what a great idea. They just made everyone very happy by giving them something they've been asking for for years, now let's piss everyone off by destroying everything they've accomplished over the years by deleting bases, breaking up SG's and coalitions, shattering established server communities, scattering characters on players accounts across the remaining servers that have slots left open on them, then deleting the rest of the players characters because once the remaining slots are filled the players are sh** outta luck.
1) Character names: Duplicated character names would end up, based on creation date (or random chance, if date isn't kept track of internally, renamed Character Name I and Character Name II. Each character would be given an optional rename token for if they don't like this.
2) Supergroups: Same as above for names. No reason why bases or Coalitions would be affected at all.
3) No automatic deletion/scattering of characters - all characters would be moved to the merged. If that causes slot overflow, no new characters can be made by that player on the newly merged server until they delete enough to bring them down to under their proper number of max slots (bought/free bonus slots from both old servers would, of course, be transferred over to the merged server; if that brings them over 36 slots, those excess slots would go back into the queue for placement elsewhere). Optional transfer tokens tied to the merged server (ie, can't be used on characters elsewhere) equal to their current overflow would be given. -
It *is* worth taking. It gives a big enough bang that most of any spawn will be dead and cleaning up any Bosses or Lieutenants left over becomes a breeze when solo. It's a different matter on teams, of course.
On the other hand, if Controllers got Traps they might just get Detonator instead. It's a little clunky, but if you manage to spot your pet about to die with enough time (2s?) to cast it, Detonator can do wonderful things. -
If finding even a single extra player to help isn't an option:
1) Take time out to annihilate his bifurcations, when they happen, so that his regen isn't insane.
2) Try and lure him into the lava. He goes down fast if you can keep him there. -
Willpower's probably stronger thanks to its regeneration and recovery being there for when things start to go downhill. Super Reflexes is godly - until something actually hits you (not uncommon with the bonus hit chance of Praetorians), at which point you're screwed.

Quote:*shrug* I've played Guild Wars for several years now. There's rarely such pressure (really, only in the daily Zaishan Mission) and you only rarely have to sit through the entire thing (whether it be from people seeing it for the first time, someone who's AFK'd or, rarest situation, a jerk). Little reason to think that it'd be different here, unless we've a higher percentage of jerks running around CoH than over in GW.You're living in a fantasy world (as opposed to a fantasy game) if you think having a Skip option would work out this way. People who want to see the cut scene would still feel pressured to select skip if practically everyone else on the team does. Or there would ALWAYS be someone who doesn't choose Skip just out of spite.
Because it's there in front of you as you wandered around trying to find players that have scattered with no rhyme nor reason to the Four Winds? Ugh. Now I'm reminded that I'll have to do some more Lambdas one of these days. :/ (been on two so far and, unless I've just gotten unlucky, the only time the group seems to stick together for any length of time is while killing turrets, and then only the fliers, and Marauder)
