  1. hmm.... I only have this on one tank and it's in his Tier 1 since I know I'll be spamming that for Bruising. I was able to keep it double stacked pretty consistently the last time I played him, which was a few weeks ago. It may have broken since then.

True, but we don't know how Absorb is going to work yet - i.e. it might be one of the powers in a resist-based set so there would be no way for a defense-based character to have it. Or it may be an ally buff available in a defender set. Dunno yet.

Well, the one place we've seen it so far, it's pretty scruffy.
Nega Pendragon in the Magisterium trial has it.
  3. In theory, that's how they work.
    In practice, not so much.

Actual Paragon Point award dates from my second account.

My main account has been more consistent, and has been giving the points on the 6th for four months now. Interesting that both hit on the 6th this month.

My favorite toon..... yoiks. I have so many. Ironblade is broadsword/regen. He was my first, he's my badge hunter, he has... I think 8 Incarnate tier 4's. So, I still play him a lot.

    Other toons I particularly like:
    Tanks: shield/axe (50), ice/SS (50), stone/stone (50)
    Defenders: time/rad (50), dark/archery (50)
    Controllers: electric/storm (50), dark/dark (38)
    Corrupter: fire/thermal (50), beam/traps (24)
    Peacebringer (50)
    Warshade (50)

So what you're saying is that the pool version is inferior in one aspect. Okay.

    Quote:
You're ignoring common sense and I will not continue to argue with you. That delay is not supposed to be there because it completely breaks the power, ruining its intended purpose.
And yet the inspirations don't give anywhere near these benefits. Are they completely broken? Talk about ignoring common sense. The pool power just isn't supposed to be as good as a powerset power.

You're either blindly saying "the devs never make mistakes" or you really don't know how resurrects are supposed to be used,
Ah, now *YOU* are the arbiter of how rezzes are "supposed to be used". I see. Tough luck for the devs if they intended something different from how you think it should be.

The WST change absolutely does not require downtime.

Ah. I only have one brute and he's already 50 and not going to be upgraded. So far, I've really only looked at the tanker, scrapper, controller, corrupter and defender sets.

    (0.8 * minmax(base(rechargetime), 1, 20) + 1.8) * 2 * 1 Melee_Tempdamage / 10 / base(areafactor) Energy damage (3 PPM)
That appears under the 'Doublehit' entry for Assault.

Does anyone actually know the relative effectiveness of the powers, and how anyone should choose between the Assault options in the absence of.... well... clues?

But what if that's NOT the intention? Who says it's "obvious"? Clearly, that *IS* the intention for the powerset version and clearly it's NOT the intention for inspirations. What if the pool version is deliberately intended to lie between these extremes in functionality? Maybe the design intent is that you need to be more cautious with the pool version, or have a teammate grab the aggro before rezzing.

<shrug> Plenty of people have been here for 7 or 8 years and you've already decided how long you'll be around before you even play the game to the higher levels? Play the game. If you like it, stay. If you don't, leave. To judge your "long terms prospects" in advance is just silly.

This was never a good place for PvP. It was not in the game to start with and, as far as I can tell, they never really got it right. Or maybe it never really had enough people interested because it wasn't there at the start?

Yes, they go for weeks without downtime, some weeks, but they still are likely to take the servers down on one of both of those days within each and every week.
er, no. It's normally only Thursdays and that's scheduled maintenance which happens every week. They do NOT go for weeks without downtime.

Tuesday downtime is only occasionally and when there is a patch. Sometimes, like long weekends, holiday periods, etc the schedule gets moved around.

No, I didn't say that because, in order to know that, I would have to either be a dev or be telepathic. I said that pool powers are intended to be inferior to powerset powers (this is FACT) and so having the pool version be less effective in this manner was "probably" intended and not a bug.

Since this issue seems to be the only noteworthy deficiency compared to the powerset version, I stand by my statement that it's likely intentional. Feel free to check with the devs, or ask for it to be changed, but don't go claiming that you 'know' it's a bug.

Those powers are effectively identical. They need to work identically.
Wrong. One is from a powerset, one is from a power pool. The pool version "needs" be to inferior. The devs have said so.

Yeah, the Freaks get the good names. I was in a mission yesterday and saw a Freak tank named 'Eleven'. I was thinking, "What kind of name is that? He should have a name like 5M45H3R4T0R." Then I got closer and saw that he was one of those sonic tanks. AH! Now I get it. His speakers go to eleven.
  17. I do everything with any character. I just like to feel that I'm making some kind of progress. It could be getting incarnate salvage. It could be earning prestige on my main toon. It could be earning Vanguard Merits (love that Vanguard HVAS). Or it could be good old XP.
    I'm not picky.

  19. That's what I've heard, which makes it a different kind of mechanic from extra hit points like Frostworks grants.
  20. And yet the powerset version does not suffer from this 'problem', making it perfectly clear that it CAN be made to work that way.

  22. Most of the detailed information for these powers refers to you getting other powers, the effects of which are not described. Can any number crunchers tell me which Assault Tier 4 will give the most extra damage? If it matters, this is for a broadsword scrapper.

I'm not sure where the devs would rank 'vet' powers like this. This might be intentional or might be a bug.
  24. There should probably also be some kind of perception modifier. For example, if I kill someone with a GRENADE LAUNCHER, you'd think someone on the other side of the room would be likely to notice. Moreso than, for example, if I used a katana.
