Yeah, I think that really irks some people. They can see that there is one for sale and they can almost feel it in their figurative hands. So they keep bidding higher and higher until they get it.

None. I think Positron really needed it because it was the 'introductory' task force and it was pretty darn tedious. I think that, going forward, they should add new task forces, rather than revamping old ones - since it takes just as long.

Not really. I just upgraded to a 16:9 1920x1080 monitor and my card is a 7950GT. Not a wimpy card - when I bought it almost 4 years ago.
  5. Okay, MsCats won't be around and I need to do me some TF's. I figure some people may not have done the new Positron TF yet (or have new toons that need it for the Task Force Commander accolade).

You need to be level 10+ for part 1 and level 11+ for part 2. You don't need to use the same character for both parts (unless you're doing it for the badge). Each part grants a badge and getting both of them gives you the Positron's Ally badge (which is required for Task Force Commander).

Both parts start in Steel Canyon. The minimum team size to start the TF is three. We will start part 1 at 1PM EST this Saturday and continue with part 2 after a 5 minute intermission.

    Who's in?

    1. Me! (probably with a tank - depending on what AT's sign up)
    2. Ulli - Psychogenic Fugue (lvl 29 blaster)
    3. Dr Science - Dragon of Resistance (lvl 10 scrapper)
    4. Omorose - Omorose (lvl 14 dark/dark defender)
    5. GreenIronBat - Ramdaros (lvl 14 BS/regen scrapper)
    6. Mystery Inc - <a toon>

Yep. Even if you hold them in contempt, you have to look after them. Darkseid is worshipped as a god by his people. When his lackey Desaad denigrates them and says they are expendable and mere 'worms', Darkseid's response is: "Yes, but they are *MY* worms."

    Global channels?

There's a sticky in one of the other sections listing global channels for all servers, but you'd have to read dozens (or hundreds) of posts to find all the Infinity ones.

Assuming you're interested in channels for finding teams, rather than special subjects (like the market), I would recommend:

    Inf Badge Seeker
All TFs/trials and many arcs give badges so the badge hunters are all over them.

    Infinity Hamidon
Originally about Hamidon raids, now also Mothership raids, it's really a general teaming channel the other 164 hours of the week.

    AE Anonymous
Do not look for an AE team in here. Any other kind of team is golden.

BTW, due to the annoyance of RMT spammers, many global channels have you automatically silenced when you first join. Send a tell to an operator (they have a star next to their name on the channel list) to unsilence you. I'm on operator on Infinity Hamidon.

FYI, Combat Jumping and Ninja Run are mutually exclusive.

Regarding the build: the power selections look fine. I would change some of the slotting, notably:

Two slots in Hurdle and two in Combat Jumping but OMG OMG OMG you're underslotting Foot Stomp. Foot Stomp is an awesome power. You want to be hitting ED limits on damage and recharge and then have high accuracy and some end reduction in there also.

Why do you have the Numina, Miracle and Regen Tissue uniques in a power you won't get until level 47? You can put them in Health and have a couple dozen extra levels of enjoyment with them.

I've done a number of the Posi sets now and the average time I've seen is about 90 minute or so for each half.
Actually, the old Positron TF was worth 66 merits.

And the new total of 26 does seem extremely low to me. The 15 number seems a little low but that 11 seems way out of whack since it consistently has taken me just as long to do Part 1 as Part 2 (generally about 1 hour).

  12. eh, a paper checklist is just likely to be misplaced, in my opinion. I track them in one text document for all toons that I keep on my (computer) desktop.

Another effective method is using the player note functionality and writing a note on YOURSELF to track it for that toon.

It might lose bladder control while laughing at that video card. The 5450 is grossly underpowered for this game. The rest of the hardware looks great.

Scotty is right. Their priority is backwards.
Oh, get a freaking clue ALREADY! Your comparison is moronic.

In the case of an exploit, they know exactly where the problem is and what needs to be changed. In the case of crashing (or bugs), first they have FIND the problem.

Criticizing them for Virtue having ongoing problems is valid.
Saying that they should change their priorities and fix it now just makes you sound clueless.

See, this is what is confusing us. There's an entire city and surrounding area (the 'NY Metro Area') full of people who go INTO MANHATTAN for dining/entertainment/etc. People come from all over the world to go there. We're puzzled why you would come to NY and then avoid Manhattan. That's where all the cool stuff is. The other boroughs are overwhelmingly residential, plus a decent shot of industrial.

Assuming this isn't a money issue (staying in Manhattan is definitely more expensive), why would you want to stay elsewhere? It just seems like you're going to waste a lot of time traveling back and forth.

Anyway, assuming you'd like to minimize travel time, are your relatives near the PATH Train? Long Island Railroad? Metro North? As previously stated, driving in and out of Manhattan is really sub-optimal.

Sure, but that's to be expected. It's human nature. Therefore, a certain level of complaining is flat-out IGNORED at all times. Besides, if they never changed anything, people would complain about that.

"But I've read from other posts that super strength/willpower is really good."
    . . .

Which secondary power should I choose?
Okay, right off, you need to get your terminology right so we're all on the same page. Super Strength is your SECONDARY. Unless, of course, you're talking about a BRUTE. As a tank, your attack set is your secondary. Your armor set is your primary.

    Quote:
I would love a build that has high defense without using granite armor. The only problem with invulnerability is that our psionic resistance is very low.
Next terminology issue. Do you actually mean 'defense', which is a game mechanic that make you get hit less, or are you using the word in a generic sense to mean a tank that is very hard to defeat? If so, use another word since 'defense' has a specific/technical meaning in this game.

Invuln is a very tough set. The lack of psi resistance is trivial. Regen and self heals (like Dull Pain) make up for it and have allowed me to tank psionic AV's and entire missions of psi enemies (like the Praetorian asylum mission).

If you're really worried about psionic damage, pick a set with a good self heal and/or take Aid Self. Dark armor gets good psi resistance and the biggest self-heal in the game. My suggestion, though, would be to build for the other 97% of the game and not worry about psi.

P.S. I don't use Mids so I can't post a build but my invuln has Tough and Aid Self and is stupid-tough.

I keep hearing this but I don't get it. In order to see all my slots, I had to scroll from side to side. I PREFER the tabbed interface because it lets me see a summary of all slots plus the category with which I'm currently working.

I can see how some of the pop up messages might be useful for some people, but if we turn off those messages, I think that they should remain turned off across the account for all subsequent visits to the market.
Yes, that's a bug. It has the option to permanently suppress the warnings, both on the pop-up and in the options menu, but it does not work.

    IOing my 50's.

So, what I'm wondering is, are the Devs aware of the discord? Are there plans to change the UI to make it more intuitive sometime down the line
OR Do we just need to suck it up and adapt?

Personally I'm hoping it gets improved before GR hits.
I'm sure they're aware of this thread (and others) but we have no way of knowing just how much 'discord' there really is. As I noted in another thread, every major change will make someone quit. And every major system that doesn't get changed fast enough to suit someone, will make someone else quit.

I agree the new market UI has problems, but it has had zero effect on how much I use the market. I'm well into the process of IO'ing one toon and just starting another. The toons I use to marketeer are still marketeering.

The two main flavors of comments that I'm seeing are as follows:
    1) The new system is horrible - just roll it back to the old one.
    2) The new system fixed some things but broke others - we need a second round of fixes.

I agree with position 2. Regarding position 1, I say "HELL NO!" I never want to go back to the old interface. It stank.

    Batting .500.
Yes, the Hollows is an exception.
However, Faultline is an exception to your second line. It *DID* get an exploration accolade but did *NOT* get new badges. Thus, a number of my characters got Faultline Finder upon login.

  23. Nope, you're SOL.
This is why you will often run into characters whose bio is a list of Praetorian AV's - that's how they keep track of who they have fought.

Now, just GUESSING, the ones people often miss are Black Swan and Anti-Matter.
Black Swan is in a cemetery mission that can be completed without even seeing her.
Anti-Matter only shows up in Tina McIntyre's arc while you can get all the others from Maria Jenkins after hitting 50.

No. 90% resistance stops 90% of the damage.
This is why AV's who have resistance of 100% and higher are bad.

    How did I?

One of the most common ways people get mystery healing credit is from Amy Johnsson - the summon witch temp power you get from the Katie Hannon TF. She can heal and it counts for you.
