So how you guys work the farming for this? How to be more efficient with the time spent AFK?
You need to find an enemy that will hit you HARD - ideally enough to put your hit point bar down to orange or red - but infrequently enough that you can heal to full before the next hit. On my scrapper (with a heal enhancement in Rest), I used a Rularuu Brute conning orange. In melee, they have only one attack and it's a big one and recharges slowly (I think it was about 9 seconds to cycle). I would suggest you slot Rest for healing and try an even con or -1 Brute. Use a random mission from a Shard contact with endless missions.
- Hold: The problem to me is that to get this I can not be activating my heal so often, so any ways of mastering it without getting killed? Any specificic enemy I should try to find? And Immobilize won´t work right?
Malta Sapper. In melee, they will just hit you with their hold again and again. On my scrapper, I used two of them to maximize the time held.
- Heal: Ok, Rikti and Hami Raids, plus the special Invasion events, have gotten me until the last couple... Any easier way to get those last 2? You have to keep a buddy afk with you for all that time really?
Historically, the most popular way to get these was heal farms in the Arena. You need the Longbow Warden 2 (linked to the badge for 400 PvP rep). My scrapper got the Empath badge when it required 1 billion points of healing. I haven't done this since last year (helping someone with SG heal badges) and there have been many changes and upgrades to the Arena so I'm not sure how it works now. Oh, and yes, you'll need someone to help.
- Influ: this will be a straight question. Farming is the ONLY answer? I´m ok with AFK farm as that is not game-play time, but Influ farming is not really my game. I´ve IO´d 2 50s with sets already with WW Influ, but regular Influ I haven´t even got to 250mill... Any tips on what to do?
Just play the game. The requirement for the top badge used to be 2 billion influence and I was at 1.6 billion on my scrapper (broadsword/regen - not exactly a farming build). So just play the game. A lot. A whole lot. Specific tip: plan your life around the next Double XP Weekend and play until your eyes bleed.
BTW, I don't know of any way to AFK farm for influence. I never used any of the methods that did exist. All the methods I heard of were eventually fixed since they were exploits.
P.S. What server are you on? I can help you set up / test some of this stuff. I can be really helpful if you're on Infinity. I have no one above level 23 on any other server. -
Quote:No.True enough, but there is a time and a place for everything. In your example, you personally knew the person you were correcting. In Camper's case, he felt the need to come in and correct a complete stranger's grammar after their question was answered and the thread was effectively concluded. Sounds a little crass, doesn't it?
This is a PUBLIC forum. When something is posted that is WRONG, it needs to be promptly corrected so that someone who is less knowledgeable does not come along and learn something wrong. -
Exploit fixes are generally not included in the patch notes.
No, they don't. Various enemy groups are deliberately allowed to do things that look like 'cheating'. This is because the software AI is STUPID. It needs these advantages to provide any degree of challenge for the players.Quote:Players had a feeling it would get nerfed, but how can they nerf stacking when NPCs can do it. They need to fix Nemesis lieuts so they can only do 1 veng stack. -
And the next task force in the series is Citadel. This task force is level 25+ and will have us fighting Council. The contact is in Talos, right by the train.
1. Ironblade - update: probably bringing my warshade
2. Gillian Boardman - bunny power!
3. Dr. A. Science - useless tank
4. AngelicaVenger - Taxi Glowstick (rad/rad defender)
5. Bete Noire - Bubble Bomb Girl (some kind of defender)
6. Mystery Inc - Tachyon (rad/ice blaster)
7. Shelyx - Masonite (stone/stone tank)
8. -
Well, we had 15 people show up. Gata led the other team.
-
Or you could refrain from being a jerk and simply leave as soon as it was made clear that it was a Master run.
-
And I think that statement is wrong. But neither of us actually KNOWS.
-
I doubt it. If they meant "active account", they probably would have just said "active account". If you've had your account temp banned and/or have a reputation for being a jerk, you're probably not "in good standing".

Quote:Seems to be working fine to me. I did 3 task forces today with tanks (2 with electric armor, one with willpower). At one point, I did wonder why the enemies weren't paying much attention to me. Then I realized I had turned off my taunt aura to travel to the mission and forgot to turn it back on. When I turned it on, all was well.Anyone else notice that taunt Aura's and damage are not pulling enemy like they should only taunt works. I have tested it with both my DA tank and my ICE/ICE tank and aura's seem to be broken.
FYI, I did have one person keep taking enemies off me - a /invuln scrapper. That's pretty much normal. -
When I see someone having such severe problems with the market, I really have to wonder if it's something at their end or in the connection between them and the servers. I have NEVER had that kind of problem and I marketeer heavily.
Could it be a local problem? Maybe the market interface acts differently if you're in a consignment house that's really crowded? -
Quote:Adjust your wants.I consider 80 million to be a lot, in that I've never had that much Influence on one character all at once. I was looking at IOs today and coming to the conclusion that planning to IO Set out a character isn't currently feasible for me since most, if not all of the sets I'd want to use either lack in the availability department or else cost more influence than all of my characters combined currently have.

You can do a build that will blow SO's out of the water for under 10 million. You can do a noticeably better build than that for 20-30 million.
You can get over 30% recovery bonus cheap (in that 20-30 million range). You can get 200% regen in the same range. Global accuracy isn't too pricey either.
Global recharge or defense bonuses would be far more expensive. -
hmm....
I really have no clue how facile you are with the market. Actually, I don't even have a clue how much I might be able to earn if I had to start from zero.
I'll guess 205 million. -
Quote:And here is the disconnect. Your role is not imposed on you by the game. It's what you CHOOSE to make it. Some tanks choose to be 'heavy scrappers'. This is acceptable.I'm still a big believer in building for your AT's role however. Some of the things that have been said in this thread completely ignore the fact that a major part of a Tanker AT's role is grab and hold aggro, NOT simply absorb damage.
If someone CHOOSES to tank for large teams at high difficulty settings, they should build accordingly. This would include taking Taunt. If someone CHOOSES to play their tank in a duo or small teams only, they really don't need Taunt.
They should build for the role that they CHOOSE. -
I hate to say this but, if HP really did give it a once-over and it's all working properly, then it's just poorly designed or manufactured. Those specs look pretty good. A system that powerful just shouldn't be overheating when running CoH at minimum settings - unless it was designed badly right from the start.

Quote:Actually, you don't need to be careful at all. Just do Tina's arc. You can't complete the mission he shows up in without defeating him. What's more, he's only in three missions according to the wiki: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Anti-Matter
Need to be careful which one you do, too, because in one of them, he defeats himself by teleporting away. -
Okay, and my personal experience is different. And if we're flashing our vet badges, I have more than you. As if that mattered.
-
Talos has level 25 AND level 30 SO's.
(So does Independence Port.) -
-
Step 1 - Any time after reaching level 35, go to the Rikti War Zone and get the introduction to Vanguard arc from Levantera. That enables you to earn merits.
Step 2 - Do missions involving Rikti. Any time you defeat a Rikti, you have a chance (10%) to get 1 or more merits (1 for minion, 2 for lieut, 3 for boss).
Optional Step 3 - Get in a Mothership Raid and earn 100-400 merits in a half hour or so. -
(shrug) My ice tank has 2 taunt auras and 4 ranged attacks. He does a lot more than "get by".

Quote:Cool! Nine people. Looks like two teams again. This task force requires 5 to start so just one more player will give us two teams.1. Ironblade - a tank or sonic defender (either 5p4rk or Mr. Shouty).
2. Gillian Boardman - a crime-fighting bunny
3. Mystery Inc - probably a blaster
4. Ramdaros - BS/regen scrapper
5. Omorose - dark/dark defender
6. Ad Astra - a toon that does 'stuff'
7. Taxi Glowworm... I mean Glowstick - rad/rad defender
8. Phydrus - blaster
9. Dr. A. Something-or-other -
