And to answer the tread title - the game runs just fine under Win7.

Quote:Why don't you grow up, stick to the facts and knock off the silly insults. While I appreciate your dogged devotion to the Devs, they, in this case are not doing the job we need of them, to repair a system that is flawed and not functioning as intended, god bless you for your commitment to the belief that the game is never broken its the player, but in at least this case I will have to defer to reason rather than faith, and fact rather than blind devotion.
My only devotion is to facts and accurate posts. You keep making unwarranted assumptions and drawing incorrect conclusions. -

I think that falls into the 'lolwut?' category.
Delete the characters or not. Delete the game or play for years. Why would we be concerned with your decisions in your life?
Do what you want and do it for your reasons.
If you're trying to prove something to a bunch of strangers on the internet, it's a useless gesture. -

Weird. Try this: activate the chat window by clicking in it with the mouse, then type something and hit enter. At what point does it lock up?
-
Perhaps. But the simple fact is that, until things are close enough to finished that the devs can reliably set dates, all you're going to get is "soon".
-
Quote:If you actually believe that is always true, then we can't even have a good debate. Do you really think every company updates their web site in a timely fashion? The posted system requirements are out of date. Ask around if you want corroboration, but don't just parrot the company line again and again.first and foremost, while I do love a good debate. to say the baseless supposition is in fact the requirement is just another, well. baseless supposition. If NC Soft doesn't say its needed then clearly it isn't, wouldn't the game developers know better than anyone what is required to run the game start to finish.
Quote:which brings me to my second point, were my system the issue one would safely maintain I would not be able to run any trials, -
Two questions:
1) By "chat", you mean typing in the chat window and not a voice chat program, right?
2) Do all channels lock you up? Local? Broadcast? -
Well, for simplicity, if you like Rikti or Cimerorans, you've got contacts with infinite missions in RWZ and Cimerora. Likewise for Firebase Zulu.

Quote:Firstly, it is fair. You may not like it but, if everyone has the same odds, it's fair.I pretty much stopped doing trials because of this crazy crap which isnt fair. This should have never been a random thing ever. Now some one has posted numbers on how screwed up this is will there be more changes to make the system actually fair?
Second, there is randomness THROUGHOUT The game. When you defeat an enemy, it's random *IF* you get a drop and *WHAT* you get.
And, of course, hitting in combat is random.
If you don't want randomness, go play chess. Games like this are built around random results. -

Your assumption is correct. She would hit for 6,000 points. Consider yourself lucky. Either that wasn't her biggest attack, or the person I saw was lower level relative to Bobcat, but I've seen her hit for 7,500 points.

Step 1 - Whatever you're doing that isn't fun, stop it.
You say you're tired of managing a bunch of SG's? Then ditch them. Give them to someone. Sell them.
Your money is too spread out? Consolidate it. You can email it from one character to another, up to 1 billion inf at a time. -
Quote:If I know that there is going to be a large patch, I leave the launcher running when I go to work. That way, it downloads the patch while I'm out. This is important to me since my "broad"band sucks.I don't let the launcher run all the time (it is set to close itself while playing) in order to conserve system resources. So any patch means I still have to wait for it to download & patch when I log in if there is a new patch. The trickle download is pointless unless the resource hog is running.
Quote:What I find the worse thing is the treatment of customers. People that cannot get it to work are simply out of luck?
It was broke. The old launcher sucked. Unfortunately, the new launcher is not an unconditional improvement. It also has issues. -
You mean if they had done it the way YOU want. You're not in a position to judge if it was done correctly (i.e. to maximize income in the long-term). Neither am I.

Nonsense. Their stated minimums are out of date while the "baseless suppositions" are up-to-date evaluation from people who play the game daily. If you go by the posted minimums, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

Quote:There is a good reason and it does make good business sense. Plenty of people felt that the lack of high-end raid content was a serious flaw with the game. By introducing that type of content, they widen the appeal of the game. Please note, they did not REMOVE any solo content in the process. The devs broke with the 7 year trend and abandoned our style of play and most of us perceive no good reason why they went that way by making the decisions they did. It is frustrating because it just doesn't make any good business sense for them to do what they have done.

Quote:It's partly concept, partly what you're accustomed to. I have characters with no travel power because I wanted other stuff. I have some who take a travel power very late, because they wanted other stuff earlier, I have some with two travel powers.I don't actually get why people work so hard to skip travel powers, unless it's entirely for concept reasons. But practically speaking, it's easier to take a travel power than it used to be since inherent fitness,
I wouldn't say that I "work hard" to skip travel powers, though. With Ninja Run and the 2 jump packs, it's practically a default option for me. Unless a travel power actually fits the character concept, why take one at all? -

Quote:Yes, I knew that part. My cousin was in London and visited a clothing store and asked about the "plaid pants". The staff were confused until she pointed them out and they responded, "Ah! The tartan trousers."Nah. In the UK "Regimental" would mean formal and "going commando" means the lack of pants. Yes, I did say "pants", which is the correct name for underwear and not a term to be used to describe trousers

Well, a rising tide lifts all boats.
I expect redside will get additional players, but I think blue will get MORE additional players - probably in similar proportion to the current distribution.
