Thomas Edison wanted nothing to do with Alternating Current. He was a Direct Current man.
Whoa, did I just describe an electric blaster? It hertz me to admit it. -
You know that special feeling you get when you put your trust into someone and they don't let you down? I'm an old CoX veteran. They were Cryptic Studios 6 years ago. Then later the cream of the crop got skimmed off and formed Paragon Studios. They have never let me down. I feel proud that I was there at the beginning. I look back with pride and I look forward with confidence that I'll be here for a long time to come. Thank you War Witch, and thank you Paragon Studios.

I've left the game (stayed subscribed) several times over the years. Just to try out another game I can't play multiple MMORPG's simultaneously. So if I want to try another game I have to leave CoX temporarily.
But I always come back with a vengence. And I always love CoX even more when I do. I hope you'll come back some day Lilly. I'm going to miss you here on the forums. -
I've got three level 49's just a bubble or so each from level 50. And I'm holding off getting them to 50 because when I get a char to 50 I usually stop playing them regularly. By the time I get a character to 45 or so I start turning XP off to make those last 5 levels last as long as possible.

This reminds me of the Talos thread years ago:
Ta-Loss
Tahl-oss
Teh-lo-ess

Quote:I like this bind:I'd be happy with only ONE change:
* Adjustable Range for "Tab To Next Enemy"
It's frustrating as ... well, something that's REALLY, REALLY frustrating!
How many times have I been tabbing through enemies, searching for someone in the group gathered around me to storm kick into next summer, when, suddenly, I'm targeting the Rikti Drone waaaaay over on Hamburger Hill? Whaa? It makes me a sad panda.
PS: Bow ties are still cool.

Quote:Hey, how do you invite your Alts to your SG? Got to have someone else in your SG for that right?Since my SGs are all made up of nothing but my characters on that particular server I would say you are entirely justified in ignoring my SG mates if you don't like my playstyle.

Well it looks like this thread has kind of run it's course.
What about characters that have invested billions into so many IO set bonuses that even at the highest difficulty setting they are virtually impervious? And the challenge of practically any mission is all but gone? I feel sorry for those folks. -
Quote:/thread! As they say. (well put!)No. You will never get rid of the stigma. It's not the "WoW" approach, either. It's -far- older.
Try D&D Older.
The "Holy Quartet" has been in play since the 70's. The Holy Trinity is what happens when you cut out the skill-system.
It's not going away. Campaigning about it to raise awareness won't help, either. You've got to educate on an individual level and then stick with the educated... Form long-term bonds rather than PuGs.

Great to have you, Danny!
CoX is all about the journey. Not the destination. The closest thing we have here to raiding is Hamidon and the Rikti Mother Ship: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Raid. And in 6 years I've never even entered the Hive (the zone where Hamidon lives) because there is so much else to do! -
For me: PuG's = Awesome fun! At least 90% of the time. So I never /hide.

In my opinion any mission where the team can split up and survive does not have the difficuly setting raised high enough.

I drink canned ice coffee from Taiwan--Buy it in bulk at any Asian market. Being canned helps me ration it. One can in the morning when I'm at my computer launching CoH. And another can after dinner while I'm at my computer launching CoH.

Quote:You know, Sam, you can turn XP gain off in game now. So my replay to the above question would have been:[Tell] Guy?: would u like some mega xp?
[Tell] -->Guy?: No, thank you.
[Tell] -->Guy?: No, thank you. I have XP gain turned off.
Who knows what he would have said to that. -

This has just started happening to me today. And I've been playing almost everyday since I17 was installed without issues. And for me the game completely locks up and I have to do a hard power down (Windows 7 x64, 4 gigs of memory, Quad-SLI Geforce 9800 GX2).
I've tried different characters to see if it was caused by the sounds of the powers without success. -
I do this all the time. I'll be passing through a low level zone like Kings Row, or Steel Canyon and get a pang of nostalgia that will make me take a side trip to explore an area or back alley I remember from 6 years ago. Trying to find the exact window in the building where the secret admirer badge is located where War Witch and Apex shared an apartment. Stuff like that.

Haha! I second this. After reading this far I've figured out that this is really just an "I hate Speedboost" thread. Lose "The Fool" as one of the Mystic Fortune buffs and this thread would never have been.
That and the "test my toon" mentality is rather amusing. -
