This is my dramatic exit!

Just imagine that I'm using wild arm movements and dramatic hair flipping for emphasis.

Blah blah blah, blah blah BLAH blah blah. Blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah-ba. Blah blah blah BLAH BLAH BLAH! *Gasp!* Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah, blah, blah blah.

P.S. You'll have to find my stuff first!

Edit: Great sense of Parking Lot? Good lord, that wasn't intentional!

--------------------------------

In all seriousness, I'm a 58 month veteran who's been with the game since just before Issue 6. When I first logged in to the game's servers, I was absolutely in shock with the deep character creation system. But that's not what hooked me. What got me was real simple.

I remember my first character when I plunged into the heart of Outbreak. I was instantly immersed, even as I stood there in that little parking place. When I first got in the game, I would wear a set of earphones, and since 3D sound was on by default, the moment I heard a Police Drone float past my character as I ran down the street, I was in awe. I instantly turned to look at it and was amazed. I hadn't even gotten to Atlas Park, and I was enamored, simply by the audio.

I remember my first Super Group. My dark/dark scrapper was level 7 or 8 when I saw a broadcast in Steel Canyon about a Super Group interview. I thought, "A Super Group INTERVIEW? They HAVE to be legit!" I was so excited, I contacted them immediately. They teleported me to the top of a sky scraper with two other Super Group candidates at varying levels. I sat there in awe as five level fifties sat before me, staring at me in their matching uniforms. It was amazing, feeling like I was before greatness. I mean, really. Screw ever meeting Justine Bieber, THIS is the moment I was living for! (Kind of sad, ain't it?)

Those Super Group leaders weren't just flashy looking, they were amazing people. All of them knew each other in real life. And all of them were so nice to me (ME, a scrap happy newbie who wasn't even a month new). During the interview, they happily dealt with my severe ADD and bad typing. I repeatedly auto-ran off the top of the sky scraper when I forgot to hit Enter/Return first, and they happily teleported me back. And when I was recruited? They walked me to Peregrin, just so I could join in their missions.

Eventually, they all went their separate ways until only I remained, but they were my first impression of the community.

I remember when City of Villains came out. I made my first villain named Proto Zone, a bots/traps mastermind on Pinnacle that I became deeply in love with. Hero side, I had alts out the wahzoo. Villain side, I only had Proto. And it was there in Nerva Archipelago, I stumbled upon a group of seriously amazing people who ushered me into the world of smack talking, NPC butt whooping, and action teaming. Even in a game called City of Villains, I was with the nicest group of players I could ever hope to meet. I would never become real life friends with these guys the way I did with those group of heroes, but I was still happy.

The time would eventually come when the group would go down their separate paths, and I do wish I could have said goodbye. I would stay as the leader of this lifeless group for two more years before I would chose to leave.

But before that, I got Proto to about level 41 before I finally convinced myself to stop and try to get my hero to level 50 first, simply because of Epic Archetypes. And that's what I did! Night Protector, my very first Dark/Dark scrapper became my first level 50 ever, well over a year after I first got the game. You can bet that I sat there drooling over my new Epic Archetypes. I had finally got it! It was my dream character!

*Record scratch*

Actually, that's not true. My mastermind still holds that spot.

*Audio continues*

But before my dream archetype, I had the Taxibots.

Taxibot Belle and her dysfunctional family of teleporting junkies became my new family. I couldn't wait to get online and take part in a badge tour. I was always the one who typed way too long of a badge text bind, and it took way too long to hand off my group of tourists to the next Taxi. Y’know those inter-dimensional train wrecks you always hear about? My fault. But the Taxis were nice and always forgave me, even with my horrible dimension shifting puns involving Harry Porter. *Cue Mission Failure text*

As I said earlier, I eventually got into roleplay. A large number of the Taxis were also in a little group called the Saint Joseph School, and I eventually enrolled for myself. Admittedly, it does have a steep rule set, but I am happy to have learned everything I did from them. Very mature group of players. If you're on Infinity, I recommend them.

But anyways, Gleaming Dawn (my PeaceBringer), became my absolute favorite character concept. Not only would he become my first role playing character, but also becoming my third 50, as well as a successful experiment. See... I made it a challenge to go from 1 - 50 on Dawn with 1.) no enhancements, 2.) no power pools, and 3.) completely solo.

It really wasn't that fun... BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!

Leaving the game and on to the forums, I've always been interested in Role play. I became involved in several role playing threads during my early time here (Most of which would crash and burn shortly upon my arrival), and it was evident in those threads my infatuation with alts (Had they not put a limit on how many I could bring in, I would have pushed fifteen characters). Eventually I pulled out due to time constraints and work, but not before meeting all those wonderful people in-game. To this day, I am in league with the Boarderliners, a group of mentally degenerate folk who talk about nothing on a daily basis. Nine out of ten of my personalities agree, the Boarderliners are a great group of individuals. They, along with the forums, have justified my $15 bucks a month.

Sadly, the game just isn't fun for me anymore. I haven't actually been online to play the game in roughly a year now. And where I've used to love the forums with an undying passion, it's become slow and awkward for me. Admittedly, it was bound to happen. Eventually I would grow tired of the game and be forced to leave, even for a little while.

I'll be allowing my account to lapse the day it's supposed to renew, the 25th of Augest. No one did anything wrong, I just feel that it's my time to go, even with Going Rogue around the corner. Truly, I love this game. If I didn't, I wouldn't have made the effort to type out any of this. While true, this is my third online game, it's the only one that has had a lasting impact on my life and personality.

But one last thing before I go...

None of this is to say that Going Rogue won't be awesome... Because it’s flippin’ will be! It's redonkulously amazing! Y'all are going to love it when it's released, and I'm going to buy it the moment I come back, if I come back.

I had a blast Beta testing it; y'all will have a blast playing it.

Send me some inbox messages! Message me in-game (@Sentinel IV)! Until my account hits the dust, I’m going to play the flippin' daylights out of this game before I leave. If I haven’t met you yet, I would love to. If any new players want someone to show them around, I’d love to! If anyone wants all of my cash… I’ll think about it.

Luuuuuuuuuuuumos,
- Fire Lilly

Thanks, Tank!

Edit: Great, now I have to edit too!

I love this community, every one. I'm weird like that. I thought Angry_Citizen was the bomb.

Double Edit: I'm really bad at making sense when I type.

Take care of yourself and thanks for the nice farewell message.
I enjoy reading the happy memories and the recalling of what hooked you/us in and all of that.

Perhaps we'll see you again in the future.
Regardless, take care and have fun!

Well either way Fire Lilly, as my main has been on Infinity since launch, I am sure we ran into one another. The hug stands. Hope to see you back soon!

Fire Lilly,

I'm so sad that you are leaving. Even if I have not met you or know you, I wish we could have played together! I can sense that you are fun and nice to team with! Your stories have touched my heart and it made me cry and sad at the same time, reminds me of my newbie days. Unlike you I did not join any fancy SG because I got picked up by a random Super Group before I could start my own.

CoX is my first game ever, except for The Sims. Joined close beta and 2004, I'm also bored of the game, but I have found my new obsession, Base Editing. If anyone knows me, they know I have quit my old SG recently and started my own SG. I have 2k prestige left and still waiting for "Prestige Conversion Fix." Waiting for the fix is a bit of a downer. So I'm bored again...

I am looking forward to Going Rogue, and will try to not get bored. Would love for you to come back someday and fall in love with the game again!

I'm mostly looking forward to the Psionic Mastery for my Dominator so she can finally be pure "Mental Poweress." Unfortunately I will not be making new toons to play Praetorian content, but I will wait for I19 for the Incarnate system so I could just explore the City and [Walk] all day in the streets with my main lvl 50 character. Switching sides is not for me too, because the game does not encourage you to switch and the benefits are not good. I am looking forward for the PvP especially RV, when Going Rogue comes out!

The community here is awesome with the exception of the new pvp community, that I used to join and love, not anymore... I wish you all the best. Hope you find your new home. Stay goofy and eat more cakes!

??? I thought if you switched fully from Villain to Hero and stay on the Hero path, you would be a Hero with all the benefits Heroes get...it was staying Vigilante/Rogue that had little benefits????

Lisa-Now puzzled.

Great read. You play on Infinity? I wish I had teamed with you.

I'm just returning after a two-year hiatus wherein I graduated, bought a house, got a new job and got married. Now I'm back in and really looking forward to actually having the time to play now that I have all of these other responsibilities!

Hopefully you'll find yourself ina similar position in a year or two or whenever your obsession rekindles.

Have fun enjoying the real world in the meanwhile. Be careful about Super Jumping out there. It results in a lot of sprained ankles.

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.
