Yeah, just find a Vampyr with a bad German accent. Defeat him and his guards, and then Maelstrom will reveal himself to you (he's actually right there, just invisible).

In numerous missions on villain side, the Legacy Chain NPCs are often attacking each other for no apparent reason. It seems as though they mistake each other for enemies rather than allies.
This tends to happen even before the mobs come into sight. -
Okay, I figured out the problem. The cable for the sound system was not connecting properly. Silly me. >.>
Anyway, just ignore this thread. Everything works fine now. -
Happy holidays to all my fellow heroes, villains, rogues and vigilantes! It's been an awesome six years, and I'm looking forward to the next six!
Incarnate Trials! Thanks for the little blurb about I20, Positron! -

Okay, has anyone else ever experienced this?
Sound effects in gameplay are oddly hushed. My super strength brute, for instance. The punching sound effects are muffled when I look at her from the back, but if I swing the camera around to the side, I hear the sounds just fine.
Likewise, footsteps and jumping noises are all but silenced.
I did just install a new graphics card, but I dunno how that would change the sound effects. -
Happy holidays from The Guild!

Felicia looks adorable! <3 <3 <3 -
This improved mentality isn't that new. I think the Protean fight brought this about earlier in the year. He's not an EB you can stand next to and just beat down. You have to stay on your toes and move around in order to fight him, else he just heals off you.

Quote:Actually WoW is more like six months younger. It launched in 2004 like CoH did.I dont care, we should had animated fingers a couple of years ago.
In some aspects our game look older than most of the fantasy games from same year release.
EQ2, WoW only 1 year "younger" and they had water reflections, real shadows, and animated fingers long way before us.
I just want more for my game -
Aw man. Well, good luck in the future Castle. Your last six years of work is very appreciated.

Hm, okay, here:
Issue 17 gave us Ultra Mode (enhanced graphical upgrade), a revamped Positron TF (it's awesome now), new arcs in the 20 range using new mission technology (dopplegangers, mainly), craftable temporary powers, and the Silver Mantis SF was made available to all, not just supergroups with the expensive supercomputer.
Issue 18 (coinciding with the release of GR0, gave us the alignment system, whiuch includes with tip missions and side switching, the ability to set auras to "combat mode" (so you only see them when you attack), the merging of the auction houses, the old hero arcs about Praetorians were updated, the Cathedral of Pain returned, and some new critters in old villain groups (like the Girlfriend from Hell added to the Hellions).
Issue 19 introduced thew Incarnate system and two new TFs that start the Praetorian invasion of our world, all the monorails and ferries were merged, emergency ho9spitals were added to all zones, including trial and hazard zones, and the Fitness pool was made inherent to all characters at level 2.
That's all I can think of for now. -
It's an Incarnate TF. It's supposed to be crazy and hard.
And yes, I've completed it. On my first time out, too. -
Dude, you forgot the special Xmas Cookie Inspiration. Swallow it and you get a quick sugar rush to your SPD and RECH!

My BS/SD Scrapper does fine against Lady Winter. My approach against her is the same as for most EBs. I swallow a few purples and then go wail on her with my sword. I do notice the occasional moments of high damage resistance on her part, but I just bull through it and win the day.

Quote:No. That would suck.I guess Weather Effects will happen in I-20. Like background elements in missions (we did see a glimpse of them in the Incarnate first mission).
Maybe also having them in AE?
But Weather effects in city, mmm. Storm, rain, wind.
A crazy Idea that we might not get.. proper wind in the zone.
"A storm is headed towards Talos" - okay.. knockback effect on flying or reduced flight /travel power.
That would take weather effects to a new level. -

Quote:Yeah, he was a hero at some point in the past. Now he's all evil and licking Emperor Cole's boots.Maelstrom's would probably need to be a flashback arc from ouroboros.
I mean with Desdemona you see her progress from villain to rogue, but somehow Maelstrom always seems to be, from Praetoria to level 50, a straight, villain.
Just one convinced he's in the right. -

I dunno if it was part of today's patch (the patch notes make no mention of it), but I ran the "Destroy the Bomb Triggers" tip mission this morning, and it had been changed.
Maelstrom is no longer standing around with some Malta. Instead, you now run across a Vampri with a bad German accent and his guards. Once you defeat them, Maelstrom appears and comes to speak to you. After arguing over the merits of vigilantism, you fight as normal. No Malta at all (hooray!). -
Heck, zones with two monorail stations or two ferries, you can use them to teleport across the zone. How sweet is that?
-
I'm saving for the rare and very rare Alpha powers. I got two uncommons made. Now I just let the shards and components pile up.
-
This. Supposedly I20 has been in an NDA-signed closed beta since September. Must be a big one. The last time they were this tight about beta testing secrecy, it was for the AE system.

Quote:Trapdoor doesn't seem to be too difficult to hold for an EB. He was a cake walk with my Dominator.I've done it on a couple controllers and it was incredibly simple. Just held him (didn't see any purple triangles, though it's possible I got lucky with timing) and he stopped spawning clones. I ignored the one clone he did spawn and had no problem doing enough damage, just alternating my hold and APP single target blast to beat him. I didn't even realize until later that the clones increased his regen -- I was wondering why it wasn't really attacking me.
I haven't tried a defender yet, but with the debuffing potential of most of the sets I think all but the most pathological builds should be able to do it, maybe with some inspirations.
