They probably were flipping out at first, but it's been 6 months or so. When it comes to survival, people adjust pretty quickly. Still, it was made obvious in the opening sequence that the kids are still traumatized. The adults are probably hiding it better.

Anyway, it was a fun show, I'll keep watching.
  2. The new Stephen Spielberg-produced sci-fi series, Falling Skies, premieres tonight on TNT. I'm gonna check it out, see if Noah Wyle fighting alien invaders will keep my attention week to week.

    32 years, I think.

I posted about this a couple days ago, but for some reason a mod deleted it and claimed it was a rule 8 violation.

It's A strategy, not THE strategy.

She's called Emma in the film, and has her diamond body power, though for some reason they made her Silverfox's kid sister.
  7. Something I just realized...

First Class has Emma Frost, a full grown woman, in 1962.

Origins: Wolverine has her as a younger version, in her teens. That would place O:W before First Class, logically. Yet it also had teen Cyclops in it, who is still a young man in the modern day X films.

Also, it blames the Three Mile Island disaster on the O:W events, which happened in 1979.

    My brain hurts now.
  8. They filmed in Chicago before, didn't they? I wonder why the change.
  9. Saw this trailer with the X-Men movie. I was impressed.
  10. I just got back from seeing it. Glad I did. It was a very enjoyable film. Great addition to the franchise, and redeems it for X3. Loved the cameo and the easter eggs.

What I hope for is these writers and this director to do a reboot set in the modern day now.
  11. *pulls up Netflix streaming to watch the original Trigun series again*
  12. One step closer to a real life Iron Man!

I mean, I get that they pigeon-holed themselves when they made characters like Ice Man appear in the first trilogy, but still!

All that being said though, I will be there at midnight tonight
Let's just kept in mind that Marvel's "cinematic universe" is always going to differ from the "comics universe." Some changes will make your eyes roll, sure, but I just accept them and move on.
  14. I saw this with the family last weekend, and it was a lot of fun. Great popcorn movie.

Also, Ian McShane makes everything better.

    Kung Fu Panda 2

I loved KFP, but I'm content to wait for KFP2 to come out on DVD. There's too many movies to waste money on at the theater this summer as it is. Green Lantern, Captain America, Super 8, possibly the new Transformers or Conan...
  16. Face it, none of us were necessary. Null the Gull beat the invasion all by himself!
  17. I'm proud to have helped defend Primal Earth! *salutes*

Don't tell me what I do and do not remember!

I'm well aware that Smurfs was not great TV. I would hate it now. But my 5 year old self loved it, and that's what Hollywood is murdering.
  20. And another childhood memory is murdered by Hollywood.
