Kung Fu Panda 2

No spoilers.

Loved the first one and really loved this one.

One thing, the theater I saw it in 3d had new glasses for it. At times it didn't look 3d but blurry like when you don't have the glasses on.

Was that a problem with the theater's glasses or the movie?

Had that problem with one of the many 3D movies that I have seen. I believe it has to deal with the focus since the first few minutes had the double image until me and others complained about it. If it was a problem with the glasses or movies, then it would not have been fixed so quickly.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

I saw it as the middle part of a triple feature at a drive in toniht. I thought it was very well done, and totally sets up a for a threequel.

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

Loved the movie.

I long ago decided to actively avoid 3D, and I have yet to regret it. It seems almost any time I read up on the latest film people are complaining about how dark it is, how ugly it was or how headache inducing it became. And in the few cases that none of the above get mentioned, most people just point out how the 3D didn't really add much. So it seems that 3D can mess up the whole experience, with the best case scenario being that it doesn't do much.

Sorry for the little 3D rant.

Anyway, loved the movie. There was a certain scene that really tickled my funny bone, but I'll keep it spoiler free as per the OP's request.

I was talking to my fiance after the movie about how sometimes the perfect choice is made in casting, and I really think Jack Black was the absolute best choice for Po. There is just so much excitement and intensity in his voice that matches how Po feels. I'm sure other people could do a decent enough job, but Jack Black just makes everything so natural for the character.

I loved KFP, but I'm content to wait for KFP2 to come out on DVD. There's too many movies to waste money on at the theater this summer as it is. Green Lantern, Captain America, Super 8, possibly the new Transformers or Conan...

Well, it was pretty much planned out after the first one and considering how many Shrek movies got made despite them mailing it in, I think 5 of them isn't too hard to do.

As long as they make money, i don't foresee them not milking the frak out of the franchise.

I do like that they didnt really inflate power levels to bad. While he did learn a new Technique, it wasnt a DBZ style powerup, but more achieved through personal growth.

Well, it made less than the original did opening weekend and this one had the benefit of a holiday weekend.

I liked the first one, but love the second. I went to it thinking meh, but was very pleased with how well this one is done, and the music "Zen --- Master" i left part of the name out so as to not spoil or give idea what it relates to, Epic and fits well to what Po did perfectly. True, but it had some pretty nasty competition to overcome. But as long as it breaks 100$ million, i see them churning out more sequels. Not that i mind, KFP is pretty amusing.
