Calvin and Hobbes - 26 Years Later
Well I was already to post the link that you'd been scooped by over a week, as the 1st strip was posted here on May 10th...
Then I read it again and got that warm happy fuzziness that just wiped away any snark.
Besides, because of a technicality (now there is a 2nd strip!!) this thread qualifies as 'fresh'.
Am I the only one wishing Waterson would approve of bringing this into canon and letting them release an actual collection?
I must've read Revenge of the Babysat dozens of times over the years.

He named his kid Bacon?
Well, my niece acquired the nickname Bacon over the years, and Francis Bacon was another old philosopher along with Calvin and Hobbes, so it seemed like a good name plus, if anyone would name his daughter Bacon, it would be Calvin. |

on another forum, a poster described a calvin and hobbes finale strip(this was around the time the strip ended) he had drawn up(he was a bit of an artist, never posted it though) where a harried 30 year old calvin comes home from work, stressedly looks at the bills on the table and all his responsibilities and then looks with resigned sadness at the old stuffed hobbes doll ona shelf as he keeps waiting to see it talk or move again. that bummed me out for nearly a week.
I still have every one of the Calvin & Hobbes books. They are worn, tattered, dog-eared from repeated readings. I still go there when I just need a little pick-me-up or a laugh. The true magic in it has been rediscovering it through the eyes of my children. They both read them just as voraciously as I did. While I miss Calvin & Hobbes, I'm glad Bill Watterson did it and ended it on his terms, so it would never be anything less than its finest.

Good point. The steady decline of Peanuts over the years was really a tragedy to watch. If you go back to the very early Peanuts strips, those were brilliant. Eventually, however, Schultz pretty much lost it and just kept shoveling out dross.
Too many alts to list.
This is the best.
This made my day.
At first, I thought you were sharing this...
But those were great, too...
