This should not affect the functionality of items in the base.
AFIK, it is only supposed to affect whether or not a character can interact with the SG registrar (create a base/pay rent).
Losing power has been a bug for quite some time. It usually happens if a base has been "off" for a while.
Serial Beggar's solution is usually the first thing that most folks try.
If that doesn't work, you will need to petition for GM assistance.

Was on a TF a few days back and noticed something odd...
Whenever I targeted with my mouse and fired my taunt, it would require 2 key presses. When I targeted with my tab, it would fire with one press. Note that I am not talking about whether the power hit... I am saying the power would not fire off.
I haven't actually tested with other powers, since I usually use the tab to target for most of them.
Anyone else have this happen? is it considered "normal"? -
Quote:The villain supergroup The Hall of Doom on Virtue seems to have been reset....
- No base available
- Prestige dropped to 300,302 from 14 million-ish
- Emblem changed to Anarchy (1st available iirc)
- Primary/Secondary colors changed to White/White
- Rank titles changed back to default
- Permissions reset to all Superleader only, all else no permissions
- MotD blank
- Motto blank
- Description blank
- Inactive Leaders Demotion reset back to 15 days
Quote:Did you have a "mass exodus" of characters transferring to other servers (such as Exalted)?
Did you have a bunch of character accounts drop to premium? (Not that I think this should work this way... But I can see it happening.)
Even if every last toon left the SG, he would only loose the 20k prestige per the first 15, ie., 300k (14 mil - 300k = 13.7 mil)
Unless the OP is the red star superleader, all the other items could be changed by someone with high level (red star) edit privileges (possibly as a prank?)...
Then again... looking at what happened to the prestige, it is definitely ticket-worthy.

Just as an extra thought...
If you are in a SG/VG, check your settings there (through the roster).

Installed new drivers yesterday (but did not clean out the old ones), then proceeded to run a UG trial.
I had maybe half a dozen quick freezes, which is an improvement over the constant stuttering I'd become accustomed to on TFs and such. I also noticed that there was nearly no lag with my powers firing... love that.
Happy camper.

Quote:Every time I zone, my opacity resets to 53%, which is a headache inducing state. It makes me not want to play the game, especially if I'm doing a round of crafting which has me zoning repeatedly. I sent a bug report when it started (with i21) and was informed that it was being worked on, but... still with the headaches. I want to play the game, but lots of other possibilities are out there that don't give me layers of see-through screens to sort through.
As a temporary fix, how about making the default opacity setting 100%? The dim feature seems to work fine, so that would be an option for fans of the see-through interface.
Actually, it's been noted before that the dim features in the "general" options tab seem to interfere with the opacity setting in the "graphics" tab. If you don't want your window opacity constantly resetting, you need to disable the dim features and set your opacity to the point you prefer.

I've made updates to the Base Usage and Base Building sections.
- marked alphabetical storage as done
- added Veteran Reward and Banner bugs

Quick clarification, please?
Are Free players going to be allowed to post in certain forums as well? or is it only Premium & VIP?
I seem to be seeing a lot of conflicting information on this.

This has indeed happened to other folks.
When I updated my support ticket after re-launching the game, I did mention that it should be logged as a bug. -
Quote:Per Avatea's announcement today:Why do we believe that just because the server maintenance is done for today that the Free accounts are now enabled? For all we know there are still some internal infrastructure steps being worked out within NCSoft to turn on Free access for all, and that the latest patch was just one small part of the process.
Quote:.... After several months' wait since the official announcement, City of Heroes Freedom is now accessible to all!*....

Quote:I'm wondering if this is what they meant when they said that only VIPs would be able to "edit" bases. The Base Registrar will not display the "pay rent now" or "create a base" or "create a Supergroup" options to a Preem. These features are only available to ViPs.

I got hit with this bug about a month or so ago.
This is the solution that customer support sent.
The person that is "hidden" should run through these steps:
1. Run the "/hide" command again.
2. Select everything and then click "Accept" (so that you are hiding from everything).
3. Travel to any other zone nearest your character.
4. Once in the new zone, run the "/hide" command, uncheck everything and then click "Accept."
5. Log out of the game and then log back in with the same character.

Quote:These are all very good suggestions.Suggestions: -
- Lose "Supergroup & Villaingroup Recruitment" and "Player Events"; the server forums are perfectly adequate.
- Move "Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs" to the "Player Help" section.
- Merge "Mac Users" with "Gameplay / Technical Issues & Bugs".
- Merge the two PvP subsections.
- Merge the two "Lounge"s into "City Life".
- Merge "Screenshots and Fan Creations" with "Multi-Media"
But leave the AT forums as they are. Remembering when I first came to the forums, I did NOT have a problem finding the AT information I needed. I think the earlier suggestion of simply tagging the existing headers for each AT with a playstyle/role description would be better.
I especially agree with putting the Tech/Bug forums under the "Player Help". Over the years, I've seen more people confused by that separation than almost anything else forum/structure-wise.

Sorry, no thank you.
If there were an on/off option, I'd immediately turn it off.
I do not like that voice specifically because it is completely out of context for the game, very immersion breaking. I would not want my game being broken up with similar voices throughout.
IF the voice was an actual character speaking their own dialogue, I might be willing to consider it.... but again, it would have to be optional.

Quote:That was the initial reasoning we were given at the time.I think it was to prevent hoarding because we were able to store invention salvage in the racks.
Quote:with how much salvage we can store per character that may or may not have been really it lol
Quote:im fairly sure it was what i described cause 1000 items per rack and 18 racks at max is 18018 items right there, which would be pushing the upper limit of what is possible that we can store in the bases without crashing it

Added Pippen's "headshot" into my post.

Quote:I've been using the bind Aggelakis posted for a variety of powers...I see, use toggleon rather than powexec so it is in a known state on both "scans" of the command (down and up key)
Unfortunately this only works to turn on, I would need another key to turn off rather than have it toggle on/off using the same key.
Not sure I want to retrain my fingers that way. May have to be content with clicking them separately.
"+ $$powexec_toggleon Increase Density$$powexec_toggleon Speed Boost"
"+ $$powexec_toggleon Aim$$powexec_toggleon Build Up"
"+ $$powexec_toggleon Nova$$powexec_toggleon Conserve Power"
"+ $$powexec_toggleon Combat Jumping$$powexec_toggleon Tough$$powexec_toggleon Weave"
But I do seem to recall running into problems when trying to use it to "toggle" powers on AND off...
I ended up creating a rotating bind that basically resulted in the same press/release function...
Each of these lines is in it's own text file...
Arti.txt
NUMPAD1 "+ $$powexec_toggleon Chilling Embrace$$bind_load_file c:\CoH_binds\Arti2.txt"
Arti2.txt
NUMPAD1 "+ $$powexec_toggleon Icicles$$bind_load_file c:\CoH_binds\Arti3.txt"
Arti3.txt
NUMPAD1 "+ $$powexec_toggleoff Icicles$$bind_load_file c:\CoH_binds\Arti4.txt"
Arti4.txt
NUMPAD1 "+ $$powexec_toggleoff Chilling Embrace$$bind_load_file c:\CoH_binds\Arti.txt"
Essentially, the first two files are "toggle on" mode, the second two files are "toggle off" mode.
One press(arti) / release(arti2) to toggle on, second press(arti3) / release(arti4) to toggle off... all on one key.
I've since applied the same technique successfully to incorporating ninja run, sprint, and combat jumping into my flight binds as well.
Credit goes to Master Blade for helping me figure this out a while ago.

Errr... Snowy... they already bought the set/bundle.
But since it's not on the "custom" list in the tailor, it's difficult to find the pieces.
They're looking for a list of where to find the individual items (that they already bought) in the tailor lists.
And, I'd love to see if anyone has put one together as well.

/bug it
complain about it
raise a ruckus
It's been mentioned, but not acknowledged.

For your consideration:
Looking at the details, you wouldn't think these two guys are brothers... from the same litter, no less.
Though adopted by completely different humans as small kittens, their separate paths converged in unexpected ways...
This is Lokiboi...
His brother is Pippen, the "golden boy".
Based off of our own kitties...

Quote:Gee, I always thougth that male widows were called widowers.....
For spiders, however, male widows are still called "widows"
Also, the male widow spiders around my place are actually not black, they are light brown, with a red hourglass, and quite a bit smaller than the females (maybe it makes them easier to eat?).
Another little factoid about widow spiders... they are essentially blind. They rely on the vibrations in their webs to let them know if something is around, and they can tell how large something is by those vibrations. That is why they don't usually bite unless they've been disturbed.

Quote:Just to clarify this....
- IO = Invention Origin - the kind you craft and that never "expire" no matter what level you become. Effectiveness is dependent on the level of the IO though. The ones that come from "special" recipes provide extra bonuses if you slot more than one of them in a power (called set bonuses).
There are groups of IO's called "sets" (you might see them under their power classifications in the Wentworth menus).
The set contains IO's with individual enhancements, and each one in the set is different from the other.... i.e., IO's A, B, C & D all belong to the set "Z".
You can slot multiple IOs from the same set (Z) in a power, but you cannot repeat the same individual IO's... so you can slot A + B + C + D (and you will get a bonus for that power), but not A + A + B + B.
You CAN, however, put the same set into another power, up to a limit of 5 times for your entire build.
There are a few unique set IO's that you can only slot once in your entire build. Be sure to read the descriptions on the recipes, and again, the P-wiki has much more detailed info.
Also, Mid's Hero Designer is a fantastic build tool, and will give you a good idea on how the IO's, sets, and Hami/Hydra enhancements work.
