  1. Oh My ! - That was sooo good, such a thick rich soup of plot, dialogue and visual treats all mixed together and spiced just right.

It was exactly the Gaiman episode I so hoped it would be *sigh & smile*

I'm off to watch it again (once my better half and mini me have watched that talentless thingumy), this time with the subtitles on because I know I missed so many bit's of the sharp dialogue.

It was so worth the wait so they could do it justice with enough budget this series.

Such a unique story, I hope he writes for who again in the future. Dare I say it? (dare, dare) it was at least as good and maybe even better than a Moffet script like the weeping angels, in my option.

*please excuse the above posting, it may be slightly over gushing*

    @Golden_Girl

My wife has made a simple goodbye post to let all the people she knows from this game know how much she appreciates the good times she has had teaming with them.

Please do not reduce this thread to your usual level of pyramid quotes and inane postings.

    Thank you.
  4. Happy Birthday from me and KQ
  5. QR

Nice team photo too - Smile for the camera !

*plays a quick easy game of where's war witch[1]*

[1] it's like where's wally, but geekier/cooler/not really all that difficult at all (delete as appropriate)

    Stickied too!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think you pushed 'sticky this' button

Apologies if this has been asked before, but along these lines - do we know the upper limit on how many different minion types we can have in one mission? In other words, can we have, say, 25 enemies in a map and have them all have individual powersets?

    [/ QUOTE ]

IIRC the mob sizes and placements are pre-set on each map, the only way to change the size is by changing your rating and/or doing it in a big team. Basically just like the standard maps.
  8. IIRC - we can buy some unique map's with the skiball tickets (or was it with rewards from getting good reviews) either way there should be some change from the usual tilesets.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I can see a problem here......

If players get always rewarded 1 ticket for a MA-mission they run, the more difficult and complex missions wont be run often, cause the time vs reward will suck, even if those missions are prolly the better ones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's not quite how it works according to the audio that was on massively.

There are ticket drops in place of the normal salvage & recipe drops, plus a bonus at the end that depends on how many mobs you kill through the mission, so if you ghost or don't complete you get less rewards than by playing through 'properly'

    MA Question

IIRC from the audio on Massively (the opening of the cans of pop really hurt my ears) as part of the rating system I thnk there may be a feedback system, where you can send the creator of a MA mission a message telling them what you think about it.

(of course I'm sure no one will use it to send abuse natch !)
  11. There's an article over on mmorpg too

    Linky

Mostly the same info, but one or two extra bits like

The Hall of Fame is where the best player rated content goes. To get to this rank you need to have over a 1000 votes with an average of 5 stars (we round up). Getting into the Hall of Fame changes your standing in the mission browser, moving it further up the cue.

Becoming a Dev Choice story happens when one of us (the developers) sees content that we feel best represents what Architect can be, good story and fun gameplay. Getting into Dev Choice actually elevates you beyond Hall of Fame and gives your mission the same sort of rewards and drops you would get outside of Architect. The only difference being that you get a ticket bonus at the end of a mission as opposed to an experience bonus.

Is it just me, or did anyone else hear Prof. Farnsworth's voice for GR's "Great news, everyone..."

    Servers Down?

I cant make it work. Wont recognise the program. Does it make a difference on Vista?

    [/ QUOTE ]

sounds like you added it inside the " quotes - it has to go outside them. Check the link further up the thread.

And yes it works in vista
  14. [ QUOTE ]
IIRC correctly you can create a US CoX account and apply that to your existing NCSoft master account. Won't that do what you're after?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think he/she wants to pay for 2 subscriptions

    [ QUOTE ]
i cant afford to pay 2x 13euros per month

    [/ QUOTE ]

Though he/she could cancel one or other of their subscriptions depending on whether they want to play U.S. or EU side. I guess that could prove to be to difficult to manage in the long term however.

Presumably you'd still need to pick 2 powers from the pools for the teir 4 power?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, nothing has been said about teir 4 as yet so we would have to assume so I think. Although, I seam to remember that devs are very bad at setting flags in this game so there might be a bug in there somewhere.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Castle says 2 picks before tier 4 still.

He can't appear as an enemy you could punch because the bounding boxes don't scale properly to mobs that size.

You could make him unattackable, with some other target to destroy in order to banish him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aye - he a big 'ol fella (in case anyone is interested enough, there is a picture on the wiki page showing just how big he is in comparison to other GM's & AV's in game)

Hmmm - good thought about attacking other targets to destroy him......

Perhaps by defeating (or freeing in Faathim's case) the seven aspects of rularuu as listed on the wiki page, although some missing ones would need to be added. It would be cool (but more work in dev's creating smaller and smaller versions of Rularuu) if each time one of his aspects were defeated/freed - Rularuu himself shrunk in size until we were left with a teeny tiny 'fella to squash beneath our feet (giving a sneeky 'buffy' reference)
  18. [ QUOTE ]
"Add more... stuff in general. Poor suggestion line there, but the place is huge; there's got to be some zone events, GMs, anything you could put there to make the place more attractive. With Darrin Wade's arc foreshadowing the return of Rularuu, and telling of a Rularuu-worshiping cult in existence, you could focus the events of a new Issue in a revamped Shadow Shard. The place is really well designed and the concept is interesting, the only problem at the moment is that there's no real reason to go there, because it's almost void of actual content."
I would say - 'patience'. Perhaps it is coming. Although an SS GM would be good - a giant-floating-inter-dimensional 'thing' would be soooo cool to take down whilst flying.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about This Guy as a shadow shard GM ? I don't think i've ever seen him in game and it would tie nicely into the midnighters.
  19. I thought they'd been broken for a while now ?
  20. Illum

    Updater bugged?

    It's working fine for me.

If you're up to date with game patches you could use this as a new shortcut -

"[path to your install]\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project "EuCoH"

This will run the game without using the updater. Obviously when new patches are released, you will still need to run the updater though, so might be an idea to check things like your firewall blocking it etc.
  21. Illum

    ok just a tought

Thanks for that - now I've got "I tought I saw a puddy tat creeping up on me" as sung by Tweety going around and around in my head.
  22. wow that was fast !
