Updater bugged?

Is it just me or does anyone else have the same problem?
I'm trying to run CoX but the updater can't seem to connect to the server. It stays in the connecting fase and doesn't even show the news tab. Anyone else having the same problem or had the same thing in the past?

Please, does anyone know what might be causing this?
The game ran without error this night and now it doesn't seem to work. I checked every post I could find and no solutions yet;(

It's working fine for me.

If you're up to date with game patches you could use this as a new shortcut -

"[path to your install]\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project "EuCoH"

This will run the game without using the updater. Obviously when new patches are released, you will still need to run the updater though, so might be an idea to check things like your firewall blocking it etc.

Ok will try changing my shortcut. Hope it will work
I checked my firewall and all and everything seems ok
Tbh I'm quite clueless
Thank you for the advice

Hmm, seems to get the program running but I'm unable to connect. Maybe something wrong with the connection to the game server in my region. Hope it'll be ok soon
Thx anyway

I have seen this occasionlly.'I think it's an ISP related problem (probably made worse recently by the damaged internet infrastructure). If you leave it is should clear up in an hour or so.

I really should do something about this signature.

Well thought as much, hope it clears up soon.
Thank you for conferming my suspicions.

hmm still hasn't cleared up.
I tried contacting support but no answer so far.
Any of you guys have any ideas on what I might try next?
Any advice would be apreciated greatly.

All I can say is keep waiting and trying until support get back to you.

also sometimes, a reboot of your modem / router might fix it. Turn it off for 5 mins (normally q minute is fine, but if you're like me, you'll forget you've turned it off ) then turn it back on again after you've made a coffee

Had a similar problem last week and figuring it was a network issue at first however it turns out that doing a rollback on XP buggers the updater if there's been a patch after the point you roll it back to. I assume that the roll back partially rolls the installation of the game back as well but not all the way back so it gets a bit confused and just sits there.

Luckily i could copy my installation from my other PC and then it worked fine but I'm sure there must be some way of forcing the updater to run Bridger once mentioned it and it involved deleting check sum files but i cant remember exactly and would hate for you to bugger your installation on my half remembered instructions.
