There's nothing stopping you from making another Destiny, since once made, they're permanent. My ill/rad made a Barrier Radial Epiphany and a Clarion Radial Epiphany for different purposes.

I've been messing around in Mids with this AT combo for 4 or 5 hours trying to figure out what would work best. I'm fairly inexperienced with set bonuses, so I did mess up a 'little'. I did fix my build quite a bit, getting rid of the bonuses over 5. I got to where I was over cap and Ring of Fire/Fire Blast were quite useful, but when comparing my fix to yours, you obviously know your sets better than me.
To easily check, on Mid's, go Window, Sets & Bonuses (or Ctrl+B) and check the Effect Breakdown. If anything breaks the rule of five, it will say something like cap, and be in red. Scrolling down will show what broke it, and then you can make adjustments to your build. In your case, it was the 9% Enhancement(Accuracy), so I fixed that on your two defense toggles.

    Quote:
Also, I have no problems with enhancement boosters. Where would I move the slot? I was thinking over to Assault to reduce the end cost.
That's probably the best place to put it. The one in Tough could be replaced by the Hamidon Enhancements Ribosome Exposure (end/res), but only if you acquire them.

With your fixed build, would you still suggest Cardiac, or would I be fine with Musculature? Any suggestions on Destiny pick?

Thanks so much for your input and corrections. It's an amazing help for those of us (me) who are a little inexperienced with set bonuses and builds.
I haven't played your build, so I can't be too sure, haha. The best way of checking is to build it on beta where you can buy your orange recipes easily from Astral Christy in Ouroboros using Astral merits which cost 1 inf each or something, take it to Rikti War Zone and wail on the dummies in the base for set amounts of time using different combos. If you did take Musculature, the radial side has End Mod which can help increase endurance Stamina gives you, but my maths is wonky at the moment, haha. If all else fails, go with Cardiac on the Core side.

As for Destiny, generally speaking, I go Rebirth on radial side (which adds regen on top of the heal) for melee alts, as they're usually lacking a heal of some kind.

Spring Attack, while not on the exact same recharge time of LR/SC, is great to get an extra burst dmg attack to speed up your farm/TF/etc. Even if it only saves 2 mins a mission, 2 mins times 30 missions is an hour of time saved.
To be fair, if you like using the attack, there's no reason to get rid of it. This was generally why I kept your build the way it was save for Maneuvers and Phalanx Fighting swapping, haha.

    Quote:
Upon examination, I doubt I'll use Jacobs Ladder, so that could definitely go. The question is, what power would I replace it with? I already have every +Def power I can get (besides hover, which is redundant as I have Combat Jumping) and there's no other End powers available to me. Also, I'm not quite sure why I'd need to shore up my defense when my positionals are all at 46.4% The very few powers in the game without a positional tag aren't significant enough to warrant getting all the delivery types soft capped. (The only important ones where positional tags won't help are Crystal Titan and Hami, but those have insps required for them.)
If you were to get rid of Jacob's Ladder, you could change the slotting in Tough to use Aegis: Res/End, Res, and Res/End/Rech so you fix up the 3.13% AoE def set bonus you lose from Scirocco's in Jacob's Ladder. I'm fairly certain Joane of Arc was thinking of your original build in regards to your positional defenses, not my fixed build, hehe. I'm not sure what you would stick in there to replace it though.

    Quote:
Using Ideon's fixed build, my Net End Gain is 1.94/sec, not too bad considering there's 7 toggles running. If I needed to, I could alpha slot Cardiac Core Paragon. That would bring up my Net End Gain to 2.19/sec and reduce the cost of all my attacks and auto-cast powers (Active Defense and Hasten).
Hasten's main endurance loss (15 points) comes at the end of the duration, not from the start. As you can't stick endurance reduction SOs in Hasten, Cardiac won't work either on it. Remember, your Alpha is like sticking a SO in each power which is capable of taking it. If you pick Cardiac, only powers which can normally have a endurance reduction SO stuck in can take advantage of it.
  4. Stamina is woefully underslotted. You'll be gasping for endurance every minute or something, though since you don't really have a decent attack chain if at all, that might not matter too much.

Phalanx Fighting isn't just a buff for each teammate near you, it gives you 3.75% defense to melee/range/aoe as a passive power with nobody in range.

You've gone after a lot of typed defense bonuses for some reason instead of positional defense bonuses. Why?

If you plan on keeping this build, forget Musculature instead of Spiritual, you'll need Cardiac.

You've also forgotten about the Rule of Five regarding set bonuses.

    -edit-

I've kept your powers for the most part, but switched Maneuvers with Phalanx Fighting - as you said, you're not interested in buffing other players, so why use a toggle when a passive power works even better for you? This build should give you a lot more endurance to play with, and makes Ring of Fire a proper part of your single target attack chain. Jacob's Ladder and Thunder Strike are slotted out for attacking with as well.

In addition, Melee/Range/AoE defenses is now 46.4%, properly softcapping you in normal content. If you don't mind using Enhancement Boosters, you could even remove a slot from Hasten.

It may be that they deliberately overpaid on purpose just because they felt like it. I sold one salvage of silver for 50,000,000 inf once when I stuck it on the market for 9 inf just because I was emptying inventory.

Aim for about 46.5-47% if you plan to do incarnate stuff a lot. A small purple will softcap you to incarnate trials, while the extra 2% could help with any giant defense debuffs in normal content (though as super reflexes, you should be aiming for 95+% defense debuff resistance anyway).

Regarding your current build versus firespray's, you will probably want to ask yourself what you want to use your scrapper for - defeating AVs more readily, or defeating mobs. Not to say a build can't do both, but if you plan to specialize in one over the other more, it can be easier to work out what to slot.

Also, Gaussian's is great for getting easy 2.5% to melee/range/aoe, don't complain about it.

Problem is that the borked AI doesn't just affect Mastermind pets, it affects ALL pets so they prefer melee to range, even if they have no melee attacks, such as Phantasm.

The only real 'fix' I see if they can't fix the AI is to simply give the 'ranged' pets a single melee attack justifying them going into melee, haha.

Finally decided on a main character for the first time since before CoVillains came out. A Dark/Shield scrapper. I have no idea if that build is good or bad or makes any sense... I've never been a number cruncher type. I just liked both sets on paper for a long time and the other night it dawned on me that there's a specific dark shield under elemental shields that looks like a wicked awesome magic gauntlet. Viola, my character.

Now... I come to the forum lords seeking their wisdom in the ways of the end-game. I would like to pack it full of endurance regen and -recharge set bonuses on top of perma hasten so my two PBAoE's in dark are available often.

I'm also very curious what to do with Siphon Life... what kind of enhancements would get the most damage/healing and a decent amount of accuracy out of that power? I like Shadow Maul but the animation time makes me think I should skip it for an end-game chain and Siphon Life will have to be maximized (or close) as an attack, but I still want as much healing as possible.

    Any input welcome.
A quick run down of the new enhancement types and terms would be awesome.
Dark/Shield will be great for single target stuff, and you'll have shield charge to help with AoE.

Siphon Life was updated not so long ago to do 'superior' damage. Make it a part of your attack chain, haha.

If you know nothing of sets, I'd suggest visiting Paragonwiki to update yourself with what you've missed, along with downloading Mid's Hero Designer from Titan Network to play around with potential builds. Shield Defense uses positional defenses, so look for sets which focus on larger melee/range/aoe defense over typed (smash/lethal/fire/cold/energy/negative/psionic) defenses. This means sets like Touch of Death, Mako's, etc.

The 'softcap' number to aim for is 45% in normal content, so bear that in mind when choosing what to slot. Also, the 'rule of five', which means you don't want more than 5 of a specifically named set bonus.

As for Incarnates, the "Alpha", which is the first part of Incarnate, think of it as a global SO which is added onto any powers which are capable of taking that SO. So if you picked Spiritual, for example, it would add the value of a 33% recharge enhancement onto all powers which can take recharge enhancements. Ideally, pick one which can make up for any weaknesses in your final build, or one which can supplement your strengths if you have no real weaknesses.
  10. Ideon

    Archetype sets

Some are selling fairly cheap on the market (around 15 million) while some are a bit more pricy (200+ million), as people are bulk-buying and selling what they don't want.

The market will probably stabilize over the next few days, so hurry up and check the markets and nab what's cheap. I saw some defender and kheldian parts for 15 million, haha.
  11. Bearing in mind the incarnate trial softcap is around 59%, your current defenses are:

    Melee: 56.7%
    Ranged: 53%
    AoE: 45.5%

If you're gonna have to eat a small purple to softcap yourself anyway, you might as well lower melee and ranged, and make your attacks hurt more along with getting some bonuses to raise your accuracy a bit.

Also, Hasten is overslotted by far. It's one thing to make Hasten perma, but if it's at the cost of your build, you will have to ask yourself if it's worth it.

    FA = Fiery Aura

If you want to pair up Fiery Melee (aka FM) with a secondary which helps boost damage as well as give you another AoE to play with, try the unholy combination of Fiery Melee/Shield Defense. Generally considered one of the scrapper monsters when it comes to damage, although a lot of shield people are currently griping about no more 95% resist defense debuff due to Hami-O patch, haha.
  13. If you're thinking of making a melee alt with Fiery Aura (the 'armour' secondary), you might want to consider Brute or Tanker, as the best damage power in it (Burn), will frighten away mobs if there isn't a taunt component anywhere (which Brutes and Tankers have).

Fire Melee (the 'attack' primary) on the other hand is just pure awesome, trading stuff like knockdowns or -tohit which other powersets might have for just plain more damage.

It's very unlikely we'll alter course on this in the immediate future.
So yay, no corsets or skirts for male characters! XD

I'm okay with this, having a mix of male and female characters. Besides, it works out like in real life as well, barring one detail. Let's just be glad female pieces aren't quadruple the paragon point price of male pieces.
  15. TPN Campus Trial is still bugged as of this post. Randomly during phase 3, just before you fight Maelstrom outside, everyone will mapserve and be unable to log in with that specific character for an unknown duration (a few minutes). Upon being able to log back in, attempting to rejoin the trial will throw that person into a tip mission belonging to someone who isn't a part of the league.

The only option left is to abandon the trial, starting from scratch and wasting everyone's time.
  16. Looking at Penny's costume... how about adding a Carnies belt/sash, but coloured completely black? Would be a nice tie-in to her Praetorian mother without making it completely obvious, haha (i.e. no Carnie mask yet XD).
  17. How about giving a portion of Instant Healing 'pulse-healing' rather than regen so you get a mix of the two? That way, it would be unaffected by -regen attacks which get pretty common late-game.

Also, agreeing on Revive needing some sort of buff. Even a simple Untouchable for 10 seconds buff would work, and if you use it when you're not defeated, you get the equivalent of eating a medium green and blue at the same time, thus the 'revive' name still fits, even if you're using the second meaning "[verb] give new life or energy to" instead of "[verb] cause to regain consciousness".
  18. Because I'm lazy, almost all of my female brutes and scrappers share the same Crey female clone of my male Tanker background, and thus, all share the same body sizes and face, but with different hairstyles. Each has a black and red version of my Tanker's main costume, and their second costume is a 'upgraded' Paragon Protector outfit. XD

Naturally, coming up with a background story is a clinch.
  19. What I would really like for it is to avoid redraw with Assault Rifle, Dual Pistols, Archery, and Beam Rifle. This means the martial arts part of it is generally kicking stuff OR smacking enemy with held weapon (or fist if weapon isn't currently drawn). But this would involve a ton of animation work, haha.

My ideas would be to meld Street Justice and Martial Arts together for the secondary... although alternate animations could always work as well...
  20. So anyway, it happened again today in the middle of combat as I was looking at the main area of the screen instead of my power bar, and somehow switched power tray 1 (the bottom one) into power tray 6. XD

Click click, why isn't my hold working... ARGH I DID NOT JUST USE A WARBURG NUKE

Running with what you said abouve, though, how would you feel about this: you face off against Wade, not for TGG, but for your own reasons, knowing that this could "Destroy the World!" You beat him down, even torture and kill him As a consequence, the "world ends". The screen goes black and your character's version of the game world comes to an end. Your character is auto-deleted, because he is now dead.

I personally don't think that would be terribly satisfying (beyond a one-time "oh, sh**, they let me do it!"), but it almost sounds like that would be ok with you. If that is not good, then what do you think would work? I am honestly just curious.

Ok, Egos_Shadow had the same thought before me, but I will leave this here, anyway, because I am still curious. I think this might be a viable option for some players/ characters.
That would be a pretty great way to retire a character permanently, the option of death without revival. Your character is then locked at character select, and can only be deleted. XD

I've suggested about Phantom Army copying the appearance of the player (only appearance, not powers) since doppelganger tech was put in to Positron on test server, but it wasn't doable at the time.
