  1. The MM being the red side "tank" was even before they had bodyguard mode, the plan was for them to "feed" the minion mobs for the alpha then resummon for the next mob. Understandably this didnt take off because its a retarded and linear strategy.

    MMs CAN tank the alpha with BG mode and the right secondary but its kinda pointless when brutes do it infinately better.

    Electric Armor on a Scrapper (if ported as is) would be terrible. The biggest problem is the lower resistance cap compared to Brutes (75% vs 90%) for two reasons:

    1) One of the hallmarks of the set is the sets capped energy resistance. This benefit would be completely diluted at 75%, forcing the Scrapper to take 2.5 times as much damage. Instead of being able to take ~13,380 pure energy damage (not counting regen) before dying (90% res), it would only take 5,352 pure energy damage to kill a Scrapper.

    2) Power Surge would suck. For the same reason as above, a Scrapper would be taking 2.5 times as much damage as a Brute. Considering this is a power that Elec Brutes would lean on heavily (due to low mitigation outside of the set) it wouldn't be half as powerful on a Scrapper. Unlike Unstoppable, Elec Armor doesn't have DP (heal +maxhp) or defense (TH, Invin) to stack on top of it.

    That's not even mentioning the fact Brutes have higher hp.

    This is true, they are attacks which lose more fury during their animation than they generates. Mu and flurry are also crap damage

    Wow, I had never read that post regarding Web Grenade getting replaced in Weapons Mastery. As I have a Scrapper that SHOCK actually uses Weapons Mastery and SHOCK actually has Web Grenade, I would have been extremely pissed off to find that it had turned into a cottage grenade. Very pleased that Castle ultimately decided against it. Web Grenade's probably one of the most useful powers in that set.

    he didnt decide against it, he was "forced" into introducing a 5th tier in several epic sets due to the massive backlash regarding some of them. I have weapon mastery on my MA/Regen and i was inflamed when i saw web grenade was being replaced (as per original intention) with FA (with a different name) if i wanted FA I would have chosen body mastery.

    Neither Cloak of Fear or Oppressive Gloom affect LTs or bosses. What they DO do is take minions out of the fight so you can beat on the LTs and bosses without having to worry about them. If you take Dark Armor on a brute I would say pair it with a primary that builds fury quickly, as minions will not be attacking you to build it for you.

    thats old focused accuracy, its value is now minimal, especially with IO set bonuses offering more.

    It used to be 20% tohit base, now its 5, sure it has some accuracy but nothing awesome. What is does retain however is the massive endurance cost which is akin to running 3 secondary toggles.

    The only thing FA brings now is a way to empty your blue bar faster, any other benifits are better found elsewhere, like tactics and set bonuses. the res to -tohit is nice but hell, pop a yellow when you need to.

    It WAS a great power with end costs to balance it, now its junk.

    Its true that its not what it was but I did all those things in its nerfed state. As far as going for leadership over focc acc, I'd rather take conserve power to help with the long fights and the endurance problem. Those leadership toggles can be just as bothersome stacked on to wp. That's 6 toggles not including sprint. 8, if you have tough and weave. Two more end hog toggles. I don't need to pop yellows with foc acc. I was fighting nemesis in that rwz mish with manti and posi on it and I had no problems hitting them even with stacked on veng. (I don't think its fair they can do that but still) well, when that third stack came on, I had problems then. Granted, old foc acc would have hit threw the third stack too. But I think its still worth taking if you have room to slot it right.

    worth taking? its almost the same as as THREE secondary toggles COMBINED in endurance cost, it gives less tohit than tactics (and costs craploads more) AND less than the +tohit IO you can just throw in combat jump.

    Its junk, drop in the kismet +tohit IO and call it a day, its not going to really going to make the difference between hitting through veng or not, watch your combat log % numbers with it on and with it off.

    this is what you are getting in FA now, one accuracy dual origin enhancement and a kismet +tohit IO for the cost of THREE secondary toggles. Got to say thats not worth it (at least not IMO), you can get those benefits elsewhere EASILY without the endurance burn.

    You like it, cool, the games not all about the numbers, I take some "terrible" powers and sets just to have fun

    unlikely as thats so incredibly rare most people have no idea that it occurs, devs are not known for broadcasting bugs and its not much of a "secret enterence" either.

    I would guess a left over from an unimplimented idea, like the +damage from cloaking device that was in the tooltip for sometime but never got into any player accessable environment.

If not, they'll be dead *long* before Combustion has done anything.     Also on the list of bad powers is Blazing Aura. Little damage, TINY radius. Hot Feet will make the mobs run away from you slowly, but BA's radius is so freakin' small that the few enemies close enough to be affected by it in the first place will be out of the radius before a second tick gets off.

    There are NO bad powers in the /fire secondary, only misunderstood powers. Theory doesnt always add up to how things perform. The worst way to play a fire/fire is with manueverability, you stand there and dish out the damage, masses of it, thats how you put the mobs down fast and thats how you are safest. Fire/Fire excels at aoe damage and BA racks up impressive damage over time, as for combustion, thats got a 15 ft radius and hitting 10 foes with it is far better than tossing out a fire blast, in fact using it as its aoe is intended its more than NINE fire blasts.

    a lot of the secondary powers seem terrible, I took them all for a joke but in use and unison they are insanely powerful, fire/fire is a walking nuke, leaving out your aoes only weakens your core strengths. Try them and see, its a lot of fun.

    It matters not, COx can survive pissing off its few PvPers because its such a small segment for them due to being poorly implemented, ignored and then bludgeoned to death by someone who just doesnt get it.

    CO and DCU will hurt COx bad, when a 5 year niche is about to be broken open and developers annoy any segment of the community, it doesnt bode well

    drop your secondary attacks (keep KO blow, rage and jab as you cant get rid of that) and take flurry, kick, boxing and jump kick this will give you so much more damage its not even funny

    Just keep on at support, email and phone, retreive and offer to provide your old visa information, Im sure you can attain that from your bank if you lack the records, buying the code online probably stands more in your favour as is an additional paper trail. You should be fine.... eventually
  19. you can change billing info and email contact but you cant change the name it was originally created with, also support should have the original creation email on file too. If you can find your original "welcome to playNC" email it will be a breeze to get it back.

    Oh and search for any emails from plaync and see if you can find your unique account ID that you get when you got your "Game Account Activated!" email

    I think the changes to PvP stemmed from:
    1. Survey that went out by ncsoft that had PvP on it?
    2. Base raid play testing that 'wasn't fun' when the devs were testing some base raid changes (I would have suggested either bringing a Kinetic or asking whoever was playing the earth controller to stop putting quicksand in front of the raised door)
    3. The extreme skill cap that PvP had. Lets face it, the players who practiced PvP were a whole lot better than the ones that didn't and thats not right! Now the training wheels are on and its like someone put saltpeter into the community's drink

    Lighthouse told us that the PvP changes were not for the PvP players, I take that to mean past, present or future given how small the PvP playerbase is in game and those who didnt PvP wouldnt be interested regardless of "rules"

    I see the PvP zones simply as a live testbed for Castles bad ideas on how to "save" COx with CO and DCU coming up fast. I just wonder how many powersets we could have had with all the effort he went through to ruin PvP and turn it into a generic fistfight where primary melee attacks are not worth taking when you can get the ET beating wonder that is flurry

    What Castle actually did was the impossible, he spent a lot of time and effort on something that both complicated and simplified PvP at the same time. It also became PvEvP as you had to "fight" against an invisible, intrusive, discriminating and unnatural feeling set of "laws" making your character totally different in pvp zones than it does anywhere else. Oh and it also means that catching any agro from NPCs is rediculously punative.

    I played on freedom, land of the jerks and the PvP zones for the most part prior to i13 was competitive but largely @sshat free except for a few exceptions.

    Its kind of irrelevant now, Castle suffers from dev arrogance, that is the firm beleif that he knows whats best for us and we just dont understand what "fun" is, SOE felt the same with SWG and decimated their playerbase, its a good job Castle lacked the balls/authority to push his "vision" onto the whole game and only decimated PvP. Actually scratch that, it would ahve been better for Castle to have tried to push his joke of a solution onto PvE too because then it would have been binned for all, now I beleive PvP is more than likely just the testbed for Castles game future, watch as it slowly slowly seeps into PvE.

    Still it matters not, Champions Online is around the corner, I game I dont think I would even have tried if it wasnt for the retarded PvP design Castle gave us (Hi Im a kinetics defender, master of motion, watch as my inertial reduction....um supresses my own movement......) and then theres DCU next year which is looking to be a very nice spiritual sucessor to COH. Au revoir PvP I knew you well....
