My Account has been hacked.
I would email NcSoft support right away, like now.
When you do, make sure you have all your serial codes that you used when you made your account, thats your verification with them.
Good luck!

Don't ever give out passwords.
Never never never. Not in games, not for email, not to a friend, not to your sibling, not to your roommate.
And sorry, no that does not help you now.
you can change billing info and email contact but you cant change the name it was originally created with, also support should have the original creation email on file too. If you can find your original "welcome to playNC" email it will be a breeze to get it back.
Oh and search for any emails from plaync and see if you can find your unique account ID that you get when you got your "Game Account Activated!" email
Don't email support. Call them.

What he said. Also if you lose your org serial code you used. there are other ways to verify. so dont hesitate and call ASAP.
It's not hacking when you give out the details that let somebody take control. It's foolishness on your part.
Plus even if you gave them the game login they never should have been able to get into your master account and change things.
Sounds like you made one of those mistakes that winds up teaching a valuable lesson the hard way.
Incidentally you can now have this former friend prosecuted for identity theft, and if your credit card was being charged for their game then they can also be prosecuted for credit card fraud. Or you might find it in your heart to let them buy you an all expenses paid vacation to anywhere you like... rather than you giving them an all expenses paid vacation to a federal prison. But that negotiation is in your court.
Send us a postcard.

Actually, you can, but it requires a LOT more than just a phone call.

Okay I've got some problems now.
When I created this account, I didnt buy it retail but rather bought the key from NCsoft using a Visa as I can't find the game in any stores around my area. I then activated the account using the key. I'm not sure how to retrieve this key as it is in an old email I used (msn/hotmail) and that mail got wiped from inactivity.
I am unsure as to what to do now.. I tried going through customer support but it seems to be taking me in circles and didnt get a very good response. Staying in Asia I'm not exactly sure how to contact Ncsoft.
Yes, I was very foolish to simply give out my account name and passwords. However if you really must know my "friend" was very special to me and at that time we trusted alot in each other.
I am very grateful for the responses though. Account theft is really hard to take and all of your support is very appreciated.
I would just call your credit card company and terminate the "hacked" CoH account. Then proceed to the nearest store and purchase a retail copy of the game and start a new account using the key that comes in the box.
Prosecuting your "friend" is up to you after that point, but at least it ends the account in question.

Just keep on at support, email and phone, retreive and offer to provide your old visa information, Im sure you can attain that from your bank if you lack the records, buying the code online probably stands more in your favour as is an additional paper trail. You should be fine.... eventually
Oki just wrote a letter, I havn't emailed it to ncsoft yet however. Just thought, are there any things in particular I have to give? Like my credit card info and stuff, or should I wait for them to contact me back before anything..
Also about persecuting anyone, my account was de-activated for awhile (since december actually) as I had to take care of some irl stuff and then I got dragged into Warhammer. Both my accounts have been inactive since then, it only came to my attention that all my account info has been changed earlier today when a friend from CoH beeped me on msn to say one of my characters was running around.
I can't call the bank right now as it's 4.30 in the morning, but I'll try to do so later today and keep you guys posted.
Again, thank you very very much for all the help. Cyber-theft is really scary for me, especially not knowing my rights or how about going about doing something about it.. it's got that really isolated and "alone" feel to it. Much appreciated everyone.
I would definitely wait until they ask you for your information before you give it to them. You're most likely going to be passed up the chain of staff until you get someone who can actually help you, and they don't all need to know all your details.
Without the Unique Account ID, this becomes a bit tricky. If your ex-friend did indeed change everything (including credit card), then the problem is how to prove who really owned the account in the first place. The counter argument that he could use is that it was really his all along, and he finally put his credit card on it. Odds are, NCsoft is not going to try to figure out if you did or did not have a relationship and whether the account is community property or not. Prepare for the possibility that you can't get the account back, but still proceed.
Be sure to state that at no time did you intend to transfer accounts. The reason is, account transfer is against the User Agreement, and inferring that was your intent in any way would probably end the support communication. Link
Supply as much of the following information as you can, and be sure it is correct the first time. For any fields that you can't supply, explain in absurd detail why not.
Explaination for what they specifically want for these fields is here.

Physical Address: ENTER POSTAL MAILING ADDRESS (not e-mail address) HERE
Date of birth: ENTER DATE OF BIRTH HERE
Serial codes/access keys: ENTER CODES/KEYS HERE
Unique Account ID(s): ENTER UNIQUE ACCOUNT ID(s) HERE
Even though you can't supply the Unique ID, give the email address that is was sent to. Hopefully your friend does not know that. In the end, good luck.

lol maybe you could pay a "friendly visit" to your friend and see what he's up to? If you know what I mean.
I got a reply from cnsoft:

So is it now just a matter of waiting?.. Im afraid that by the time I get my account back I would have had all my characters on it deleted...
Wait it out. If any of your characters were deleted during the time your account was hijacked (as in recently), they have the ability to restore deleted characters from a backup file they keep. It's not guaranteed they will restore deleted characters, but it's a possibility.

Hi there.
I'm Blappurr from Virtue, my alt is Super Teddy (seperate account). I played CoH for 3 years until December last year when I took a break to get some things sorted out IRL. Now some days ago I got an email about a free weekend and decided to try out the new features and see if I would come back or not.
However today as I tried logging on, I found my secondary account hacked and it's password changed. Naturally I decide to just take back the account but apparently all the details as well in the account has been changed including the email and contact info.
I have a good feeling on who it might be- an old friend of mine who used to play now and then on my account till we had a falling out some months back. However during that time I was too caught up in real life matters to go through changing the passwords of my accounts and now it seems he has stolen my account and changed all the personal details, password and email. I bought this account with my credit card, and I have been paying for it since it's creation. I am sure there are ways to trace this.
Can anyone please help me or direct me to where I may be able to get assistance.
Thank you very much in advance ^^
