    Well Solo means just that...you dont have people around to tick off so you can play at your own pace...a team is just that, a TEAM. Just like when I was in the Army, they pretty much beat it into our heads (and our muscles) that there is no "I" in team. you stick with the team, you follow the leader and you do what your told.

    I too would kick someone from a team if they pulled solo crap on me, and I would urge the leader to do the same if I wasnt the team leader.

    Yes, this IS a game, and games are meant to have fun in, but reclessly endangering your "TEAM" makes the rest of the team usualy annoied. Which means that they arent having fun.

    Sure, some of you can solo ITF, if thats your bag of tea, then you have no need for a team. Go get a bunch of fillers for your ITF or what ever and boot them when yoru ready, dont endanger everyone else and make it UNFUN for the rest of the people.

    The Challenge...

    This build softcaps your S/L, around 40% E/N def, and around 30% F/C def.

    You didn't mention whether you want to run toggles fulltime or your going to toggle manage, so I reduced the end drain of the build as much as I could. Your recovery is very high, 3.86 end/sec. Like one of the previous builds, it will require you to get some accolades.

    You also have perma rage, and Dark Regeneration recharges every 14 seconds.

    I already know why also, but let's say I'm crazy. (I am.) I like the Stone tanker primary, and I like how most of the various armors look. However, I find the look of Granite Armor to be bland and not fitting for the character I have in mind, so I either choose not to take Granite Armor, or I take it and use it only very (VERY) rarely. How would I do such a thing without being ostracized by any team that may pick me up expecting a huge Granite golem?

    Say you were on a high level team with a tank that didn't take his status protection power. The tank continued to be mezzed over and over and over again, continuously being killed, making it much more difficult for the team to survive because of the lack of aggro management. Would you still say that the tanks choice to not pick up his status protection still isn't your business?

    That's simple. It doesn't matter what the SG members think, it's what the leader thinks. As leader, you already make decisions that your SG may not necessarily agree with. You decide who has what rights, who doesn't. This wouldn't be any different.

    Your right. The powers someone chooses for their toon to play is their business... if their playing solo. However, this is a team oriented game. Teams, based upon their size, increase spawn size and difficulty, and your choice of selection and utilization of powers can have repercussions to a team. In that situation, how you play your toon and the powers you select is my business.

    Other than the steadfast 3% defense unique, this is a very cheap build. You'll be soft-capped to Smash, Lethal, Nrg, and Neg Nrg with 1 foe in range.

    One note ... I've never been on an ITF yet with a Defender (cry).

    Having said that, I consider the ITF a *baseline* for tanking. All s/l damage, limited debuffs, non-range heavy mobs. If your Tanker is having problems running through the ITF, then there is either something wrong with the way you built your Tanker or something wrong with the Tanker primary itself.

    And some form of support is needed for tanking Romi in general. I couldn't see a non-supported Tanker of any type (unless really purpled out and even then probably not because of how far he can floor your defense). And I include the traditional "holding" method as support here.

    I disagree. Purple sets add very little to direct survivability. They can greatly increase the recharge of your attacks, heals, and tier 9's. The only resistance they add to is fire/cold/psy/toxic which is some of the rarest damage types in the game. They also add greatly to recovery, damage, and accuracy, but that is offensive. Only two purple sets I know of adds to regen, and 2-3 add anything to defense. Your tank survivability would improve more with a Kinetic Combat or Smashing Haymaker set than it would with the purple Hecatomb set.

    So i just finished my little experiment i had going by soloing a character (dark/dark/ghost widow brute) from 1-50. My rules were quite simple:
    - Play like a casual player playing at odd hours might. I was on for about an hour most mornings just before the server shutdown and occasionally on weekends for a few hours. I didnt team at all, except for a sharkhead sf and a treespec. I was not at max level for either of these and so was getting XP the whole way through. I didnt find it inconceivable that someone might do 1 SF and 1 treespec on their way to 50.

    - Using Veteran respecs and freespecs, i respecced at 27, 32 and 37. So when the majority of my SO's were about to expire i could get FULL VALUE from them and get a nice shiny new set.

    - Starting from level 30 i would craft any common IO's i had that i had the salvage for. From level 40 i started crafting any Set IO's i had, buying salvage as necessary. All rare salvage drops i got went straight into storage until needed. Its almost full. All enhancements were sold to the appropriate vendor. All common IO's and common and uncommon salvage were listed on the market for 11. For set IO's, it was a case by case basis. For the common trash, 11. For the in demand stuff, i charged what the market would bear. I would also check the crafted prices and see if it was worth it to craft then sell. At 50, all i have left on the market is some mid 40's trashy set IO's.

    So what is the result of my CASUAL PLAYER experiment?
    Total merits earned - 382
    Liquid assets on hand - A shade over 65 million inf. Large thanks to AE for this as common salvage was listed for 11 and selling up to 250K in some cases.
    Brokest period - 22-26. Salvage prices were still down and i was trying to afford SO's.

    So there it is.
    #1) because, well i found it interesting that with all the doom and gloom that so called casual players are throwing around these days, i was able to quite easily play the game and make money.
    #5) I made 65 mil just by playing the game. Who'd have thought...

    You will have capped fire resistance, so farming demons would be very easy. Your purely resistance based, and you will need to rely on your heal when your hitpoints drop. Personally, I would focus on a high recharge build.

    Something like the following is what I would do if I had a fire/fire tank. Idk what kind of inf your working with, so I used the basic sets. If you have the money for purple sets, go for it.

    Better starting tanks are granite and willpower, both of which do not require massive cash outlays to be strong at high level. If I could make a recommendation, it would be to shelve your invuln tank and build a willpower tank. Once you have accumulated those hundreds of millions, revive and complete your invuln tanker.

    It's not you, it's the chopped up way the invuln powerset is designed. It's been thru more design permutations than most sets have, and right now it's more a collection of band-aid fixes than a real powerset, as you will discover if you go with the very nicely put together willpower set.

    I do have a willpower tank around level 30 and I think it can take more of a beating than my invul. For some reason I just have trouble holding aggro on it, something which I do fine on invulnerability and why I've focused more on Invulnerable.

    This is why I run my own teams. I'll ask politely a few times to keep SB going. If it still doesn't happen, I blatantly tell him on team speak that I will kick him if he wont routinely SB.
