Whilst I do help teammates whenever I can, my zombies are top priority.

Yeah hating the new debt system, it's pretty much ruled out fighting in huge areas of the zone as if your fighting opponents and there are aggro'd NPC's in the area the loser gets debt, if their gonna keep mobs in PvP i saw no debt, no xp, remove the PvE side of it completely.
Hell you can hop by a mob now, who can hurt you as their even level, take damage on the way to a fight, lose a fight to a villain miles from NPC's, and still find yourself looking at a pile of debt, really badly thought out system IMO

    [/ QUOTE ]
Thankfully it is getting fixed so you'll only get this proportional debt if the NPC deals the finishing blow.

    PvP Area

Bloody Bay, because it's got good atmosphere and it's friendlier for solo and more casual PvPers. Warburg comes in at second place, Siren's at last place. I do like Siren's a lot, but I've lost count of how many times I've been killed for merely popping my head above the parapet.

I haven't played the Arena enough to make a judgement, and I'm one of the few players who can't enter Recluse's Victory yet. I did play the RV test event though, and it was a lot of fun.

    pvp debt

    [ QUOTE ]

Debt in PvP: We are going to remove debt completely if you are killed by a Player, and give you porportional debt (no debt for damage done by a player, but debt for damage done by an NPC) if the killing blow is landed by an NPC. This is the "best of both worlds" scenario. It has the 0 debt of the Pre-I7 methodology (getting killed by a Player) and the partial debt of the Post-I7 methodology (when you get killed by an NPC).

  5. I was taking a stroll in Warburg last night, not much going on, but as I returned to the Villain base a Stalker showed up and asked for a duel. I thought "surewhynot" as I've never properly fought a Stalker with my Mastermind. But then she said "without your pets". I thought she was being serious but she followed it up with "and without your powers", so my forehead has one less slap mark on it.

I do occasionally get serious requests for petless duels though. I usually respond with "you fight me you fight the boys", and that sometimes results in them saying it's unfair. What's up with that?

    Insp/No Insp

I don't see anything wrong with using inspirations in PvP, though sometimes it does get annoying when an opponent maxes out on reds constantly.
  7. Basehuggers are cowards!
Yeah, they *might* stop basehugging if there wasn't a guaranteed chance of getting ganked by seven or eight people as soon as they get out of range of the drones. The funny thing is the gankers run a mile and shout obscenities when the "basehugger" calls in a few friends.
  8. I'm gonna be taking Presence at 41, I've decided it's vital for PvE more than anything, to keep the mobs attacking me. It'll be good for PvP too, since more and more people are attacking the pets for once (there are still plenty of people who go straight for the Mastermind though).

I'd like some sort of Pocket D-type base myself, with windows looking out over floating rocks and stuff like that.
  10. I have a level 8 Dark/SR stalker on Union, and I'm loving it, so I might like to join in.

Oh dear, the new system. I just experienced it the hard way. Went into Siren's just to have a bit of PvP fun, and after fending off a couple of Heroes they teleported me into some Tsoo. I managed to escape with some health left, but a hero finished me off and bang, I get about 9000 debt. I left the zone immediately. I would have done what I said in this topic earlier, but it wasn't exactly possible.

I didn't mind too much with the old PvP debt system, but this new system is stupid. It's only going to deter people. If that was the first PvP encounter I ever had then I would've decided NEVER to enter a PvP zone again. In fact I'm joining the "scrap PvP debt completely" bandwagon. It's the only logical choice.
  12. I'm looking for some Accomplishment badges. I tried asking in game several times on broadcast but nobody answered, so I'm asking here.

The ones I'm really looking for are Strikebreaker and Soul Taker (for Accolades of course). I'd very much prefer Soul Taker, so if anybody could please help me get that I'll be extremely happy. I'll pay infamy for any help.

If they're so eager to hand debt out then they must be willing to receive it themselves. So I recommend picking up TP Foe and dropping him into a group of the toughest mobs around.
  14. It is fun though when people target the squishies and get crushed for it. Happens to me all the time. "Ooh, look! A squishy mastermind! Let's snipe/two-shot her!" followed by Build Up and/or Aim, the snipe/heavy attacks, then their death/emergency teleport/zone exit. But I disagree with the "no soloing" bit. I've gone solo plenty of times and survived, either by evasion or just standing my ground. Also I have to disagree with the "no talking" bit. I've had nice conversations with opponents, and harmless "lol I beat you" comments are what they are - harmless.

And someone replied complaining that Stalkers run off and Scrappers and Tankers don't run. I've seen Scrappers and Tankers run from battles plenty of times.
  15. My Zombie Winthorpe seems to die a lot more than anyone else. Philip the Grave Knight also tends to run into a group of mobs very quickly, before the Zombies even go in, so he dies.

I'm going to sound like a fool here, but can someone explain ganking? I used to think it was ganging up one one person but I'm not sure...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it's a bit like that. Basically ganking is a PvP phenomenon where a team of players all gang up on one or two players, usually out of nowhere with no chance of that player running or fighting back. People often do it because they feel "hard" and "tough", when in reality they're just picking on the defenseless and they often get very upset when the tables are turned.

Unfortunately it's quite common. I saw it happen in Bloody Bay last night - some villains were riling up and ganking a lone defender (who was a healer with very few offensive capabilities). They were saying how tough they were and how the defender was a coward for running and not fighting. Then a few more heroes came into the zone and started fighting back, pretty successfully I might add. The villains were then spamming broadcast with obscenities.
  17. I'm playing a level 16 Claws/Energy Stalker and she's very good, sometimes completely unhittable. However she lacks a self-heal and likes to eat through a lot of endurance, and when the defence fails it hurts.

    Ice/Thorns?

Thanks for the advice, people. Well I decided to make an Ice/Thorns and it's playing nicely, got good damage output and the drawing time isn't too bad. It is definitely slow on building Domination though, so I'm almost certainly throwing in Hasten to speed things up a little.
  19. Haidou

    Ice/Thorns?

I'm thinking of making an Ice/Thorns dominator for mostly PvE but some PvP too, and I was wondering two things:

    Are they any good?
What are the best powers to take?

I'll most likely be going for the Leaping and Fitness pools. I'm considering Hasten and possibly Super Speed too. Any advice would be appreciated.
  20. I often prefer PvPing in Bloody Bay. When it's active it's not overpopulated with l33t build-ubered-for-pvp characters (*coughsirenscough*), so it's beginner/casual friendly, and it's great for 1v1 fights with heroes and villains mingling as spectators.
  21. My Rad/Rad corruptor is doing very well, and the -regen debuffs are vital for taking down most Scrappers in PvP, and Archvillains (until that fix for obscene regen rate goes live). Plus it has eye beams. EYE BEAMS! What's not cool about that.

    MMs and PvP

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
I've already had heroes whining that bodyguard mode needs to be nerfed, so it's all good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

omg, nerf the 'easy' AT, no, the BG mode really picks MM's up.

I hope that nerf bat wielding PvP'er thinks to their self.. 'maybe I need new tactics...'

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, they eventually caught onto the fact that killing pets first might be a good idea. I couldn't help but laugh though, because they were basically complaining that they couldn't two-shot me.

    Best Battles

    1. Infernal - Insanely difficult, he summoned countless demons before I could do anything and I died several times trying to beat him. If I ever went for the demons he'd just resummon them immediately. So I decided to turn the tables with a Shivan Decimator and a Warburg nuke. Only then did I manage to survive.

    2. Aurora Borealis - I was facing her on the highest difficulty setting and well, it was difficult. Thankfully I eventually defeated her, but I had to resummon my pets several times in battle. Twilight Grasp was a life saver.

    3. Barracuda - She wasn't too difficult but lots of people say she's tough to solo. I guess I was lucky when I managed to beat her first time around. But in the end she folded quicker than a sofabed with a fat man on it.

    What next

    [ QUOTE ]
Thats a cool powerset from what you put but it sounds a bit overpowered but other then that I would play it

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah they'd probably be a bit overpowered, but the golems would basically function as tankers, i.e. taunts, defence, and mostly melee attacks. It would certainly be much more PvP viable, as the mastermind wouldn't have to rely on bodyguard mode to survive in a fight.
