  1. Our SG has a huge base, a few months ago, after i12 broke the maze, I spent a couple of weeks totally rebuilding it.

If the base editor was half decent I'd be almost tempted to reclaim some prestige but unless the devs give them some serious thought it'll stay the way it is.
  2. The best use I found for fallout on a controller is not to pick it.

/Rad has a real easy to use team buff, a weak but handy AoE heal and 3 (count them) 3 debuffs (all AoE).

Picking these 5 powers and using them 'correctly' already makes you 'uber'. And having either of your primary or secondry sets that 'need' so few powers is the indication that you might already have a powerful set.

Mutation - a power you can get by without in a team (unless you team with blasters and scrappers lots )

Choking Cloud - An AoE toggle hold that works well with Rad infection, however high on end usage and if you want to control stuff look to your primary set.

Fallout - So you couldn't protect your team by either mezzing, debuffing or partially healing it? Silly power when I think about it, is like adding insult to injury, you may as well say "Hey bad guys! You're crud a kicking Mr.FacePlant's rear, look......this is how you do it!" To kick a man when he’s down is unkind, to do it to one of your own team-mates is plain poor form.

EM-Pulse - A fantastic AoE hold, but there's not many times when playing a /rad you'll think - "you know what? I could really do with no end for a lil while"

In conclution - A set with 4 'missable' powers that's still considered to be 'one of the best' don't need more love imo.
  3. I'll take a brace of each, one I'll use now, the other, have it gift wrapped and sent to my brother. Put it on my account as usual, there's a good chap.

  5. Although you talk about wanting to solo initially, I do detect that you want to team when you feel ready. I've no doubt that for pure solo ill/Rad is a winner however for the most fun from 1 to 50 solo AND in teams I'd suggest fire/rad, is an excellent 'all rounder' in PvE and will hold it's own in the two lower level pvp zones. From my limited experience the two higher level PvP zones belong to those folk who want 'pure' PvP builds.

Fire/Rad holds it's own challenges however in endurance management mostly

  8. Good luck with this venture, I took part in one of these 18 months ago and it was the most fun I've had in CoX to date. It makes the game stupidly easy (even more so if you all have Maneuvres) and the complete redundancy for the normally 'you must have!' powers like hasten and stamina is refreshing. My fire/rad is still my favourite toon and I don't see another combo vying for my affection anytime soon.

I play on defiant normally however I think still have a mid teen fire/rad on union, if you're ever short of players and I'm on, give me a shout on my global (@bumguffy).
  9. Maybe any player in the team could 'request' the star from the leader formally, i.e. a dialog box to the leader saying 'CharacterABC has offered to take on leadership of this team, do you accept? Yes/No' with a timer on the response where it defaults to Yes after 5 mins.

This is done between the member and their team leader, therefore cutting out the need for a team power struggle which may cause a rift.

I see a couple of issues with this, firstly a leader shouldn't have to face replying to these messages continually, therefore each member is restricted to sending these requests once every 5 or more mins. Second problem I see is as soon as a leader announces they are going afk (for a 'legitimate reason') someone may request leadership for the 'wrong' reasons. In normal teams the leader should pass the star however in TFs this might not be so easy.

  11. After much playing, I've discovered that at some point (around the time of i12 release) something 'changed' which has caused my base to 'adjust' (ie. removing offending items) so that the base rule "Item blocking clear path between doors" can be satitfied.

Whereas I fully support this rule in base building I wonder what changed so that my base was auto-configured to remove all my hanging fixtures (and other other odds 'n sods) along my mazes 'correct' path? Rendering it pretty useless.
  12. Says it all really - I have a huge maze in my base however many light fittings and bits seem to have 'disappeared', just wondered if this is a single problem or one more widespread?

    Healing badges.

I'm guessing the 'more the better' but will this work with just 2 or 3 of us? Sadly there seem to be far too few of us badgers about to fulfil the US instructed team requirements.

BTW - what's your badge count these days? We all have to have something to aspire to
  14. Guffy

    Healing badges.

Sorry about not organising this yet - must have fallen asleep waiting for i12, will attempt to catch you ingame to see if this will work - looked at the blurb the other day from the US side and was totally mistified by it all.
  15. I'd pick either a fire/rad, fire/rad or a fire/rad all are good
  16. From the OP I see you have flirted with the right sets but never quite put them together in one toon - Fire/Rad ftw

    Fire/Rad build

    This is my Fire/Rad - cost me lots, but that's what you do when you love a toon too much (and because I get perma AM);

  18. The rank you give while leader is irrelevant to autopromotion unless you, before you leave, promote someone as co-leader, then you'll not have to worry about this 'lottery'.

[edit:] BTW I think 'cash' = prestige bonus for initial 15 members (Think it's 15 anyway).
  19. The auto demote function is a great one - how it picks the 'new' leader is an absolute joke.

From what I've experienced if the leader is away from game for the 15-45 days (whatever you have set) then the new leader is picked from all those characters who are still within the set time - "How?" I hear you ask? "The most recent logged on, the biggest prestige earner........" No my friends it goes to the toon who's name is alphabetically first! Rrrrrrrrubbish.

    Healing badges.

Will try and catch you in-game to organise the best time for this unless more turn up here then will have to go with more structured scheduling.
  21. Guffy

    Healing badges.

I fear I'll be without the last two healing badges for a while longer it seems.
  22. Guffy

    Healing badges.

Sadly - the hardest gladiators to get (the longbow ones that come with the pvp rep of 400 badge - Disruptor) as they are the ones that heal each other thus granting you the count to your 'heal bar'.

If you have this great! Let me know and we'll set this going sometime.
  23. Guffy

    Healing badges.

Calling any Disrupor badge holders who want to get closer to the Empath badge, give me a /tell ingame (or if you're feeling crazy a reply here) to organise a good time to run an overnight unattended gladiator match or two.

    I thank-you.
  24. I suspect if you had to wait till i13 they'd still be the same and you'd be saying, would rather they did it right and bought them in in i14.

I suspect that the script writen for the trailer may possibly be better than the VEATs however would be nice to be wrong again come release date.
