No - it's there to let SG's continue to recruit/expand even if the leader goes AWOL. There were instances in the past where some SG's became unable to invite new members etc... simply because the invite permissions were at leader only.

Yeh would be such a umm great idea to not get auto demoted so someone worthy of the posistion could do the job, if you vanished for a year..
From SG point of view, how fair is it that an awol leader could return anytime, probably not know any of the curent members, take anything they like from storage or boot anyone on there return..
You may have started the SG, but it belongs to it's members just as much, without them building or maintaining it, it's just another SG name...
The auto demote function is a great one - how it picks the 'new' leader is an absolute joke.
From what I've experienced if the leader is away from game for the 15-45 days (whatever you have set) then the new leader is picked from all those characters who are still within the set time - "How?" I hear you ask? "The most recent logged on, the biggest prestige earner........" No my friends it goes to the toon who's name is alphabetically first! Rrrrrrrrubbish.

Erm when i recruit i dont ask "are you trustworthy" that comes over time once you get to know the new members,
And spad, what do you mean "Cash"? Are you sudgesting that i charge people to join my sg? Lol i made it to help newbies not to make a profit, actualy im quite insulted if that is what you mean.
As for the Auto Demotion, i can now see from your explinations why it happens, i cant say its a good thing or a bad thing, but it would be alot better if you could pick who would take over in your absence, i am now going to have to be extra carefull who i give high ranked promotions to in the future, in a way its a good think this has happened i can now learn from it.

The rank you give while leader is irrelevant to autopromotion unless you, before you leave, promote someone as co-leader, then you'll not have to worry about this 'lottery'.
[edit:] BTW I think 'cash' = prestige bonus for initial 15 members (Think it's 15 anyway).
45 days, you sure...???? I'm pretty positive that I've had mine set to 60 days + before... Will have to check that out!
Also when he said Cash, he meant prestige. And not just the prestige bonus, but the fact that all characters below lvl 25, can earn prestige (for the SG) without it affecting their personal xp intake.

Ill save you the time nine claws, i've got my one set to a 100 days you can increase the amount of days before demotion.

Maybe he just meant the 20000 Prestige bonus per member for the first 15 or so members. Some SGs -do- try to fill out the first 15 to quickly get that bonus.

i guessing on the from the statement " have had Sg members stealing out of the base and then leaving the Sg" you made and other state like "Why exactly would you invite non-trustworthy people into your SG in the first place?" and "Cash" maybe by other people.
People think that you are only a Prestige Farm SG for inviting new player in to farm in prestige only and kicking them after a certain level. some people can't think beyond to a certain point, i know i can't
also some SG setting suck, you really need to cover yourself to protect you SG but also can upset some people like Sg thief and they trying to make u change your way or split up ur SG

[/ QUOTE ] when has being in SG mode effect XP, i only know it to effect inf only and past lvl 30 you still get inf at 50%,xp and presting in SG mode
Or just kick everyone who isn't one of your alts/trusted before you go AFK for long periods, won't win you many friends but its the safest way to run it IMO.

I am the creator of "The Paragon School For The Gifted" i have been offline since before x-mas, when i logged in i noticed i was no longer leader?
I had, had an auto demotion for not being online and now a fellow Sg member is Leader, luckly he is very trustworthy and a valid Sg member, which is rare as i have had Sg members stealing out of the base and then leaving the Sg.
Is there a way i can stop this from happening in the future? Because i could leave for a year for example but i would still expect to come back the Sg Leader as i am the creator.
I did go into to the Sg settings and tried to set the Auto demotion days but the highest it would go to was 45 if i remember correctly, which is pretty pointless imo.
I'll be very greatfull if this problem can get solved as i was very lucky the lead passed to a trustworthy member, next time if there is one it could get passed to someone not so trustworthy.
I also want to thank CENCORED FOR PRIVACY (You know who you are) for not taking anything out of base, for not changing ANYTHING, and most important, keeping the Sg runnng single handed.
