  1. I was playing Mummy (old white wolf game). Me and the rest of the group were riding around the mean streets of Jerusalem in our scythed charriot. Lo and behold, who should step out in front of us an an inoppotune moment? That's right. Jesus. We kinda accidently mowed him down. One of our group then had to masqurade as him for the next year.
  2. It is certainly an interesting idea. Most themed groups I've seen tend to focus around one of the five origins more than an actual character type. Nature is an interesting one because I know very few nature-themed characters, let alone groups. Plus, if you stretched it out a bit to be broad enough for "elements" which could be classified as nature-based, then you can always have what the Chinese (or was it Japanese..?) considered the fifth element - metal
  3. I got a PPD officer codenamed Tough Justice. At least, that's what I *think* his name is. Havn't used him in about a month. Anywho, he's part of the Hero Assistance and Recovery Division. But, first and formost, an officer of the law! (basically, I have only done radio mishes with him)
  4. A minor article, some way into the newspaper

    Dead Hero returns with vengence

Deceased heroine High Burn has recently been spotted alive and well in Pocket D, and sporting an Arachnos uniform, it was revealed yesterday. High Burn, real name Marina Wilson, wife of Carl Wilson, the GoodGuy, and member of the Hyperion Watchmen (now merged with The Militia), was killed last year in a brutal attack, but her body was never recovered from the scene of the crime. It would now appear that the Arachnos organisation obtained the body, and are using it for their own nefarious means! Brainwashing is suspected, as she was heard to refer to herself as "Vii". However, Longbow can reveal that she has been operating under the codename of Facetaker.

It's sad to see a hero go bad
  5. Ahn flashed a grin at Sean. She couldn't help but like the man. He was so... nice. "Oh, don't worry about little old me. I used to be incorporeal, y'know. Just feels kinda different, being that I'm not. Anymore. Oooh! Weinies!" He eyes lit up and she darted to the large spread of food on the table, quickly grabbing a plate and starting to load it with all kinds of food
  6. Ahn'Raquisiel stepped out of the transport room shakilly, as if unsure about exactly where to place her feet. The orange-skinned woman smiled pleasantly at Sean, even as she staggared to try and regain balance after the teleportation. "Wow! Hi! This place looks awesome! It's all floaty, and in space, and stuff! Way cool!"
  7. The white-armoured form of Dr Mechanibus strode through the main immigration line of Grandville for the third time that day. Doing odd jobs for various Arachnos agents certainly had it's advantages, but getting stopped by Arbiters every time you had to report in, and explain away every single item on your person, was becoming quite tedious. He continued to walk, passing underneath the now very familiar vidscreens pumping out Lord Recluse's message to the masses. Jumped-up know-it-all. Just because he owns a massive organisation makes him think he can push anyone around...

Stopping to pick up a newspaper from a clearly terrafied vendor, Mechanibus scanned through the headlines as he placed a dollar on the man's stall. "Hmph. Same old business. Legendary items stolen. Arachnos raids underway. Circle up to no good.. Hell-o, what's this? Doctor Edward Mechano is being sued? I knew that pompus windbag would slip up sooner or later! Scientist my left cortex! I knew he was just a common thug, and now he's proven it at last! Hmmm... I wonder if I should put forward some 'evidence' of my own..."

Stalking off down the street, paper tightly clenched in one fist, Mechanibus continued to mutter to himself, formulating a plan to furthur slur the name of Mechano. Sure, he'd only met the man, what, twice? maybe three times? But a technological rival was still a technological rival, and deserved to be taken down a few pegs...
  8. Paragon City Times - obituaries
Reporting on the passing of Heroes

Marina Wilson, aka High Burn, aka Confuscate. Killed by gunshot while walking in Perez Park. Died instantly 21/8/08

Ling Shu-Chi. Killed defending the innocent in Steel Canyon. Tsoo involvement suspected 30/8/08

    Crozius. Banished 17/8/08
  9. So, basically, we can beat the stuffing out of them in the name of national security, and just have a PPD attache read the rights? I'm for that 8D
  10. Hmm, I would be interested in getting back into this game, and I think I hve a suitable character waiting in the wings. E-0014, close-range urban combat droid, constructed by Mechanik Industries and sold (en mass) to the Military
  11. Mechanical Mayhem?
    By Irene Weatherman

TECHNOLOGICAL CONSTUCTION AND RESEARCH firm Mechanik Industries has developed a way for ex-heroes and villains to be de-powered, a report today suggests.

Mechanik Industries has long been under the Paragon spotlight after allegations came to light linking the company head, Prof. Ivan Leibowitch, with noted robotics expert and criminal matermind, Dr Mechanibus. These claims have been proven to be falsified accounts in the past, as the noted Professor has made plain in the citie's courts on a number of occasions. However, these court aquittals have not dampened the public's view of the controvesial company.

Hoping to prove once and for all that the company is working for the betterment of mankind and not against it, a radical new procedure has been pioneered in their Kings Row labratories. Professor Leiberwitch was unavailable for comment, but one of the scientists at the site was able to explain the procedure.

"It's quite simple, really. We have developed a procedure whereby any citizen of Paragon City with metahuman capabilities who, for whatever reason, wishes to have those abilities nullified, can do so for a nominal fee"

"The procedure can take up to two weeks to complete, in which time the citizen in question can go about their normal lives while we calibrate our machinery to come up with the best solution for said citizen"

"Unfortunatly, we cannot disclose at this time he exact methods utilised in this procedure, but once it is completed, the citizen in question can live a perfectly normal and fulfilling life, free of the worries that metatalents can bring"

"We hope that this technology will bring peace and happieness to otherwise troubled lives. To date, we have performed the procedure on over twenty willing voulenteers, and are pleased to announce a 100% success rate"

A statement from Mechanik Industries corporate head offices reads simply that "Mechanik Industries is constantly working for the betterment of mankind, and we are currently in talks with the PPD for large-scale use of the procedure in the often overrowded halls of the Ziggurat penetentiary, thereby relieveing the stress on Paragons formost metahuman prison"

On a related note, sources inside the corporate headquarters inform us that they are now working on a new project for the empowerment of ordinary citizens. Controversial move? Perhaps. But, it is what has come to be expected from a controversial company.

    The Nomads

    Recruit: Crozius
Reason: Has a distinct dislike of mortal species which has so far prevented him from obtaining a propper hero license, or many contacts. Has unknown maximum power levels
    Profile: nothing as of yet
Powers: Mental manipulation and control, localised weather alteration, super-enhanced speed
Contact: IC- Normally found lounging around hero meeting hotspots
OOC- PM here, or PM/email ingame to Dr.Mechanibus

    The Nomads

I think Crozius would fit in here. Well, as much as a Hell-spawned beast under a geas can. His background goes that, as he is a purely demonic entity, and to stop his seal from getting overwhelmed, the vast majority of his power was locked away. That power has started to leak back through, however. Sure, he has no real love for mortals, but he can't act of his dislike.
  14. Right, well, if someone wants to make a Pretorian version of one of my heroes, the list is as follows:

Crozius: Demon summoned from the 64th level of Hell and forced to preform 100,000 heroic acts before he can return
High Burn: Girl caught in a League weapons test, and is now radioactive
Ling Sho-chi: Blind asian archer who channels Chi energy to make her shots count
    Harrietta: Genetically altered cat
Mad-Cat: English female crimefighter with a love of big guns
Alice Springs: mutant rock-chick who can break things with her voice

Well, those are the ones I can remember. Want any furthur info on them, just ask me
  15. I would jump in, but the time would be a clash for me with my Watchmen character. However, if someone wanted to do a Pratorean version of one of my heroes (God knows I've got a lot!), then by all means, do so. Just tell me what you would prefer to be, and I'll try to make up a shortlist
  16. Boomtown Paragon

In recent days, a number of Paragon based business have been baught out by prostigeous organisations around the world. Could this mean that our fair city is about to go through a major ecconomic boom, or a bust? Only time will tell. So far, all the business are strickly small-time sole traders or limited partnerships, so the smart money is on a boom. After all, if foreign investors are buying up these small businesses, how long can it be before our big businesses get a slice of the funding too? The following list is all known businesses that have been baught out, and by who:

Daves Pawn Shop, Kings Row - Fortitude
Breaker's Electricals, Steel Canyon - Hawasawa Inc
Fun Stop, Galaxy City - Woleworts
Family Pharmacy, Atlas Park - Stilletto's pharmacuticals
    Loan&Savings, Kings Row - Reatley's Bank

In addittion, several plots of disused warehousing is getting baught up at high rates of interest. Leaked information from many of the buysers would indicate that large-scale offices and shop outlets are planned for these sites. Paragon may, once again, be at the financial forefront of the USA
  17. New company opens it's door in Paragon

A new business enterprise, calling itsself Fortitude has opened a new office in the well-known Nebula district of Galaxy City. The company, well known for the production and sale of items both mystical and mundane, has had great success with their offices in New York, Sacramento, Little Rock, and Vancouver. Arriving to oversee the smooth opening of the office is company chairman Vincent Hammersmith, who has announced that the doors will open at midnight, December 24th. This eccentric behaviour has come to be expected from the normally reclusive Mr Hammersmith
  18. ((If ye be needing me, I can knock up a funky villain to be a part of this little group of like-minded madmen 8D

Masterminds are my specialty, but I've done the odd Brute before. Perhaps I should dust off the Great Britanic... Hmmmm...
  19. I've always looked at timetravel in this way: Person X goes back in time to create/prevent event Y. Person X is successful, however apon returning to current time and reintergrating to the timestream, all knowledge of travelling in time to accomplish event Y fade, as event Y has already happened.

Of course, the only other way round the paradox is that, taking the grandfather killing theory for example, you succed in your task. However, after said task is complete, an unforseen event takes place which would nullify the impact on the future. For example: Person X goes back in time to scrub out person Y. Person X succeds and returns to their own time, however, person Z assumes the identity of person X, thereby (unknowingly) preventing any impact on the timeline.

Alas, this theory doesn't work on a global genocide scale, which, I'm sure, some players will try...
  20. Cor! Missed the beginning *and* the end of this! Go me! 8D

Either way, I wouldn't have taken part for IC reasons. The only real character of mine that hangs around in D is Dr Mechanibus who, as some of you may know, is a robot. Said plague would have absolutly no effect
  21. Trust the words of the two above me. Both are seasoned roleplayers and know their stuff. I should know, I've interacted with both of them 8D

... well, ok, one more than the other...

But if you are after guys to help start up a group again, like they said, Union. Pocket D is a good place to start, around about 8pm GMT on the hero side. Usually find some good RP sports drowning their sorrows there
  22. A note from Nhailo:

"Be aware, my fellow survivors, that I have been monitoring the local customs in order to help facilitate blending in to this society. All of you know about the ritual that they young go through every year of eating cake that has been set on fire, but I have discovered something else. It would seem that, according to my sources, close to this chronological time in the Earth-year, it is customary to disguise your true features and rove around in packs, harrassing the local populace who do not leave the safety of their dwellings. It would appear that, in exchange for small food ampules, the roving gang will leave the occupants alone. This custom, however, does not extend beyond the first group. Food pellets must be given to every group to ensure an untroubled night. What happens if you do not supply food ampules is uncertain. I believe some sort of degrading performance is required...
  23. ((If Fi is there, then Crozius would be hanging around, too. Not the nicest guy ever, but he's still got a few good deeds to do before he goes back "home". Plus, he and Fi are old aquainteces))
  24. as iyt's 8pm, and I'm the only show, I', going to go lie down now. Lack of sleep id not vonducive to a good rp session
  25. Sorry about not being thjere yesterday guys, but there was a work related task sprung on me that took until 9:40 to finish. I'll definatly be there next week tho!!
