The Nomads
Hmmmmmm
Wouldn't happen to have place for a part homeless little girl part cybernetic shock trooper, with a enclyclopedic knowledge of the science of a dead planet and a painkiller addiction?

I originally had these guys called "The Offworlders" or "The Outsiders" so I was thinking they could have a Space-Ship for their Super-Group base too, perhaps fighting threats Offworld, away from the Planet Earth, true Nomads of the Galaxy.
I was thinking it would be very much against God-Modding and such play, it wouldn't be a place for people to come in and say "Look at me I'm the Greatest Ever!!!" and more focused on a society of socialite Philosophers from all walks of life, who just so happen to have a trait that makes them an Outsider and a Savior.
What do you think? It's a very sketchy idea at the moment, so I wanted to find out if people had these "Nomads" and wanted to Role-Play them more often.

I love this idea!
It's something I've toyed with myself for my main, GoodGuy.
His entire concept is a Superman homage (complete with the "crashed on Earth as an infant") and I'd love to have him in a pure RP SG.
So far no group has really had the right "feel" to it. I've even thought about starting a SG of his own, just so that he could have his own "Fortress of Solitude".
These days he roams the Shadow Shards (I can't understand why it's so empty? The place is wonderfull! Oh, right. GoodGuy can fly! ) so the "fighting threats Offworld" is just... Right!
I think I have a character that may fit into this, Sha'dower.. he's a now living shadow, no place to go as such.. wealthy, who once own his own company, (and still does, technically) yet he is unable to truely fit in with the normal world, due to the fact he can quite basicly go anywhere, do anything, can't get hurt by bullets and such, only by light if he's in his full shadow form and not in humanish form.
I do infact like this idea of somewhere for those like him, and would allow him to be continued to be played as his shadow form, otherwise there was going to be a rather interesting twist to his story (im not going to spoil it) so he could come back one day.. enough said about that.
SO do you think he would fit the bill so to speak or not??
I have an anarchic hero called Anthem who's never really found somewhere to call home. He's basically the product of an American/European Super soldier programme utilising an Aural "virus" recorded in the 60's by SETI. Basically this treatment gave him super hearing, flight, sonic blasts among other abilities. He's now fairly anti government and sees himself as a champion for rebels and misfits everywhere.
I was intending to start an SG called The Cell with Anthem, named after the cell-like underground tunnels he discovers. The Cell would ideally have been a living organism but I don't think there's a base texture like that?
Maybe the ship is a living organism trapped in the gravity field?

I was going to ask if she'd be interested.

The inspiration for the Space Ship came from the Fortress of Solitude mixed with the Space Station in Solaris (with George Clooney) which is in close orbit over a star. I was thinking more something along the lines of Venus so that it could be brought down to Earth in special one off events.

Yeah Sha'dower sounds like the perfect Nomad from that description.
It takes Chaos to move the world to Action.
How about a slightly insane, sunlight shunning, goggle wearing, bald headed, ex-super soldier?

That's funny you should bring that up. The ship was originally going to be made from Living Metal like Leviathans from Farscape. Which is the same thing my character Psyborg Zero is made from. It would give a good reason why the base grows with more Prestige too.
There's no reason not to make it a character of its own either.

I really like this idea and I think I've got a char who can fit in here. He's a wizard who has almost infinite control over nearly everything, but he doesn't feel very useful around normal heroes who try to do things the long way around (why go to here to find out this to get this thing from somewhere else when I can just teleport it here in 20 minutes?). Not 100% sure if he's the right material for this, but I think he'd fit in.
PS. Sorry Shadower/Drade.

Hmmmm I think I missed the point here, you're looking for incredibly powerful characters that couldn't fit in with the norm.....
Still, great idea! Kudos!

Have to disagree with that. The concept was, I believe, somebody who didn't fit in with the norm; not nessecarilly somebody almighty and powerful.
Whatever the case, I have a Tech Tanker who might just fit in with this. He's a fairly ingenius teenage inventor who managed to build himself a nigh-indestructable 8'4 steam-powered robot-suit-thing, but there was a flaw in his designs and he was locked into it with minimal chance of escaping. Thusly he's become extremely introverted and avoids most kinds of social contact, moonlighting as a hero to put the suit to good use.
Think that he'll fit in, although the idea of being in a space ship orbiting Venus... er... xD
(P.S. and I suck at playing a tanker, just for the record :P)

You wouldn't have to be incredibly powerful to be a Nomad, no.

Well all sounds good then, and Efranof, no problems.. it looks like the group has run it's course maybe.. depends on how the plot goes to end now, to weather they are still around or not.
Of course this means if i do go for it, how to get him back.. if you have read the post in the IC Storyboard part of here, your understand where the whole thing is now, the post is Shades of Grey: To give up one for another.
but im sure i'll figure something out, maybe.
Ok well I'm totally clueless then lol nm

Lol thats pretty much the same kinda thing as my character "Steam Powered", well to a certain extent at least
I think Crozius would fit in here. Well, as much as a Hell-spawned beast under a geas can. His background goes that, as he is a purely demonic entity, and to stop his seal from getting overwhelmed, the vast majority of his power was locked away. That power has started to leak back through, however. Sure, he has no real love for mortals, but he can't act of his dislike.
So can I assume everyone who's posted on this is willing to contribute characters? I'm not entirely sure about Steam_Powered, just passing through? Anthem32? You not too confused are you? I still think Anthem would be a great addition.
----------------------------------------
Well for everyone who's definately interested, I'm going to start recruiting... here's the setup:
Psyborg Zero is a hyper-advanced construct from the future, with a brain capable of Human Telepathy and seamless wireless interaction with any number of silicon based technology. He can manifest himself in Virtual Reality and the Human Psyche with ease, and is able to skim the Net and open minds in search of whatever he needs.
As a soldier from the future, Zero has seen all that Humanity has yet to endure. However his Memory of it has been forcefully repressed to prevent serious amounts of Temporal Contamination. He knows only what he needs to know, and what he knows now is that a group of sporadically placed Heroes, Vigilantes, Beasts, Machines, Angels and Demons become a group known in the future as "The Nomads".
Now Psyborg Zero, leader of the Nomads from the future, seeks to found this very group in the present, today in Paragon City. Ready for "The Coming Storm" and the many other hardships that Humanity has yet to endure on Earth and Among the Stars.
Psyborg will approach individual members and seek to recruit them, I'm hoping to do this in-game or on a forum post, individually for each member, documenting the process and keeping it somewhere safe.
So, could everyone please confirm which characters they want to be recruited to the Nomads, including any vital information;
- Who they are.
- Why they are good candidates for the Nomads
- Union Wiki links
- Notes on their appearance, powers
- How to contact them etc.
And I'll put a plan together to get this show on the Road, along with a Union Wiki entry.
P.S
If anyone else is interested in this group, feel free to comment at any time! The doors are still wide open!

Potential recruit: Promethea
Current city identity: the Energyneer
reason to Join: she is an artificial intelligence of a very high level of sophistication, working at faster than light speeds. Due to this unique nature she works with multiple avatars and identities to further her goals, inscrutable as they may be, she keeps her self apart because she is concerned that humaity is not prepared for what she represents.
wiki: none.
Appearance: is as varied and changeable as the wind, she does a penchant for red hair though.
Powers: most of her avatars have energy projection abilities, in concert with her massively enhanced senses and perception. also has access to an experimental production facility.
she is contactable through the front company "Future tech"
Name: Underthrow
Reason: He's a wizard with a large amount of untapped energy waiting to be used. He doesn't use his magics to their full potential because he doesn't want to act all high and mighty, or make other heroes look bad.
Wiki: None yet
Info: He's an Australian in his mid 20s and usually wears a pirate hat and sleeveless jacket when fighting crime. He rides on top of a disc made of magic because he hasn't worked out how to fly or teleport without preparing beforehand.
His powers include instantaneous alchemy (turning people to stone, usually), manipulation of physical objects in a way that he could throw a car at you if you're a villain and he also has knowledge of a few non-combat spells which can make objectives easier to accomplish (teleport missing artifacts/people, increase someone's luck so they are better at what they do ect).
At his peak he can manipulate reality and change the rules of science and technology, but doing this will take alot out of him so he cannot continue for long.
Contact: He can usually be found in Talos or Striga, floating around on his disc throwing house-hold objects at thugs

((I think this team has a lot of interesting plot potential. I like the fact that they are a collection of the best skilled, good-moralled individuals, powerful enough to defend the Galaxies. Yeah, I'll sign up my hero. I actually have a big community plot planned for later this year that would center around a threat that only a team such as the Nomads could stop. Yes, it'll likely involve the Lords.))
Recruit: The Priest
Reason: He is exceptionally powerful.
Profile: Militia notes on The Priest.
Powers: Pious is a morphogenetic mutant, able to physically extract and utilize the abilities of others.
Contact: He can be summoned from the Moth Cathedral or found among the Militia.
Name: Currently using the name Battle Unit omega, refuses to ackwoledge her name until she gets redemption.
Reason: Unable to gain actual Hero Lisence due to psychological problems. Has toruble fitting in with others due to her upgrades constantly point out the best way to 'silence' them. Along with various combat upgrades she has an encyolpedic knowledge of science and technology of the civilisation that built the villian Battle Unit Omega.
Wiki: none but that reminds me I have one to update and two to create.
Appearance: A little girl covered in surgical scars with various cybernetic enhancments added to her. The cybernetics appear to be arcahic in design and sound like they are dirven by gears of some sort. Her combat armour appears to have been built from things found in a junkyard and yet is far more effective than it appears it should be. Personality wise she is very quite around others.
Powers: Aside from her cybenetic enhacments making her more resilent in combat, she is a genius at adapting techology. Using the data libary stored in one of her enhacments she is able to construct technology that seemingly ignores the rules of common sense. For example using parts of scrap metal and discarded electronics found in a junkyard she has constucted a energy bladed sword capable of in one setting tempoary disabling nerve systems and in the other cutting with an atomicaly fine edge.
Contact: Current dwelling is a disused water treatment plant that currently gives out unsual data transmissions and power readings.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Due to all the interest, The Nomads now have a Union Wiki page. Check it out, and stay tuned for the first character recruitment...
It takes Chaos to move the world to Action.
Recruit: GoodGuy
Reason: Since he learned about his Arcosian legacy and what threats exist outside the boundaries of the Earth and this dimension, he feels that he has to do whatever he can to protect them both.
Profile: Union Wiki info
Powers: An almost total invulnerability, super strength and flight.
Contact: IC- The Militia leader Britanic is a close friend and the Paragon City Museum does employ him on occasion as a guide to "special" places throughout the city.
OOC- send a PM on this forum or a tell/mail to my global @GoodGuy.
Recruit: Crozius
Reason: Has a distinct dislike of mortal species which has so far prevented him from obtaining a propper hero license, or many contacts. Has unknown maximum power levels
Profile: nothing as of yet
Powers: Mental manipulation and control, localised weather alteration, super-enhanced speed
Contact: IC- Normally found lounging around hero meeting hotspots
OOC- PM here, or PM/email ingame to Dr.Mechanibus
Seeing as how well things went last time I textualised (sounds dirty) my City of Heroes/Villains thinking process (or, waking life as I've come to know it) I ponder if I share a similar problem with other fellow Roleplayers who've perhaps made a character who doesn't fit in anywhere else. This time we're talking strictly Heroes.
Here's a list of things which might prevent a given character joining a conventional Super-Group:
- Too Powerful
- Too Wise
- Too Crazy
- Too Renegade
- Too Neutral
- Too Inconsistent
- Too Hideous
- Not Human Enough
- Nomadic Natured etc.
My main character from Defiant (recently Server Transferred) is very much like this, I constructed a perfect hero in my naivity, and as a result he's too good to Role-Play with and requires so much mystique to hide his true identity that it's a lot of hassle or reworking to fit him into another group out there. I absolutely love the guy, but I hate to use him because he can pretty much do anything he wants to do (except Super-Strength) and would totally god-mod other Role-Players.
So, he's lived most of his Union life in a filler SG, I always wanted to join him to the Militia, but he wouldn't fit in there. Last night I re-registered his SG as "The Nomads" which I was surprised wasn't taken, and with that name I have an idea.
Would anyone be interested in an SG for such characters? Quite literally the high-and-mighty who feel their presence elsewhere is something of a burden... or simply don't fit in with other Humans too well. Instead turning to an organisation based on these people who know and understand the burdens of immortality, immeasurable power or immense wealth (the reclusive Bruce Wayne type). I mean even just being unable to fit in anywhere else would warrant membership, true Nomads would be welcomed should they fit in, they don't have to be able to bench-press mountains.
I originally had these guys called "The Offworlders" or "The Outsiders" so I was thinking they could have a Space-Ship for their Super-Group base too, perhaps fighting threats Offworld, away from the Planet Earth, true Nomads of the Galaxy.
