The Nomads

Thanks everyone.

Just to update you all, I've started the Recruitment process now, and have begun the first two short stories with CactusBrawler aka Battle Unit Omega and Efranof aka Underthrow (well, only just messaged Efranof so we'll see.)

I reckon this It'll take a little longer than usual, but it seems the logical way to do it for me and I figure at the end of it all we'll have a selection of individual short stories to document the founding of the Nomads per member.

Since I've decided that my steam-robot-armoured-Tanker-guy won't fit the "unique" feel of the rest of the team, my altitis has rustled me up something that might fit in:

Name: The Drae'Kul
Reason: He is an alien who only just arrived on Earth and doesn't trust baseline humanity just yet. However the Bushido-esque warrior code his race follows compels him to help those in need.
Profile: Still being drafted in MSWord. Will put it up in a few day's time or so
Appearance: A 7'6, bulky reptillian humanoid creature with several small horns or otherwise natural "spikes" on his face, and brownish-bronze scales. He wears black and grey armour. (Enforcer Tucked in pants, boots, gloves, belt, and chest detail over reptillian skin)
Powers: ((Claws/Invuln scrapper)) His gauntlets originally could project energy blasts and blades (I'll RP them being "fixed" when I get Focus, and Talsorian blades) but were damaged. He has since fitted them with a small extendable blade mechanism. He is also naturally hardy and armour and minor forcefield technology only assists that.
Contact: Drae'Kul is currently living in a small cave in the Hollows, scared and alone, fighting off Trolls and occasionally venturing out to salvage what he can of his ship which was scattered over Grendel's Gulch. ((@Doctor Bolt, will be OOCly leveling elsewhere quite a lot))

I only made him last night and he's level 8 now. Hope the concept fits.

right, here i go.

Name: Sha'dower

Basic info: Sean O'Brain, aka Sha'dower as he is known, was and is a very good inventor/ multi millionaire from england who has the natural ability to control shadows, using them with his will, moving via them, till one day when he seem to merge in with his own shadow, becoming one himself, at least partly, now he seeks a way to restore himself back, or at least get back to his somewhat lesser human self then the dark wonder that is Sha'dower.

Resason why he would be a Nomad: Simple, he is now more shadow than man, there is no place for him in the world, able to go anywhere he chooses, do anything, become shadowy versions of things, there would be far too many people after him for his powers, for him to be able to live a normal life in the world.

Union Wiki link: none as yet.

Appearance/powers: Normally wears a purely black suit which is infact his own shadow, carries a shadowy walking stick, and wears dark "watcher" sun glasses. Has a battlesuit which is able to absorb light and use it to strengthen its powers and enchance his own powers, known as the "ShadowSuit".
Powers, control over shadows, shadow portals (i.e. teleport), also uses serveal items he has built over the years and throwing daggers.

Contact: Message me via /t for in character unless you (()) it, otherwise can be found by @Drade, also can be contacted via the boards here.

There, done.

Any news coming soon, just wondering as it has been almost, if not more, than a week since I saw any new posts on this one.

Yeah, Zero is fighting Mechano to try to contact the Priest as we speak, and I've been (forgive the predictability) sorting out TEH RLZ, stupid game hogging life. They should totally nerf the Social Needs on Life, it pwns me too often.

I've been thinking this over, and I'd prefer that new characters weren't created solely for the team. The tanker guy will definately fit. Just because there's another like him doesn't make him useless, the point of this SG is to RP characters that you'd really like to RP but haven't fitted anywhere else yet.

Frankly I think it'd be awesome if you have a duo of Steam-Powered super heroes. =D

Hate to be awkward, but I deleted the tanker guy the other night mostly because I seriously despise tankers and couldn't see myself leveling him at all.

Drae'Kul is a concept I've had in my head for yonks, and the main thing which stopped me from getting him "down onto paper" per se was the mild phobia of human contact I'd pictured him having, which would inhibit my ability to play ICly on him since he'd sooner run away screaming than help a group of heroes raid a Troll-infested building, or be scared of that horribly repetitive music than go and socialise in PD. The Nomads just seemed to provide me with an opportunity to implement him in-game and RP him in a concievable way.

Although, if you insist, I'll remake the tanker. Just don't expect me to level much. xD

If you've deleted the tanker, wouldn't want to play him, and Drae'kul is a good concept then I can't argue and wouldn't want to.

I just wouldn't want a character built specifically for the Nomads, because I imagine that would probably be less fun from an RP perspective, because you're making it up and have no connection to the character, thus lacking you incentive to play them. Just promise me you love the character and want to RP him or her.

On that note, while you guys are waiting for me to get around to your initiation story, why don't you build a Union wiki page? Reason being that Psyborg is currently recruiting based on this sort of abstract idea that, by reading peoples thoughts and surfing the internet, reading blogs, eMails and interviews, he can locate good Nomad candidates.

So far he knows that the characters want to join deep down, so is mining that node. (Well, they are backed by players who've given express request to have these characters approached, so the characters must be wanting to or willing to join a group like The Nomads, no matter how much of a fight they may put up. ) I'd just like more personal infomation and such if that's possible. Put up a Wiki page and that will be more than enough!

Thank you.

Sha'dower has a Wiki page already, it is somewhat how needing a little updating but, is done in an IC way, and has he is no where to be found so to speak at the moment by normal means, he hasn't updated or filled in any new information on the page.

I should alos get around to putting his Company on the wiki too, but due to the amount of time i have had of late, i am unable to get around to it, but hopefully i should do it soonish.

ok, anything happening on this? as it seems to of died off a little.
Either way, im going to be posting up shortly a IC story of "Sha'dower"'s return, so that he is back into the world of paragon city. So look out, because now even the shadows have eyes..

I know Hatesman has been having trouble logging in with his AOL account, so I'd be fairly certain that is the reason for the hold-up.

(yes, as you can tell i completely hate AOL, hinted by it's nickname AOHell.)

and it was so subtly done too...

This is going to take a serious rethink...

Basically, I can't Login to City of Heroes without extreme aggravation and I'm playing Tabula Rasa to compensate. Which means I may not even return to the game any time soon.

Seems to be proof that this idea is doomed to failure in every shape and form, for some reason. It's never really taken off for some reason or another. I'd like to point everyone towards GoodGuy's new group as a substitute for the Nomads where appropriate. Hopefully his Guardians are still looking for members, and he will no doubt be a better SG leader and I've ever proven to be.

Cheers Gash, but the TLF was cruising along without any guidance anyway, and it probably still is, so my leaving doesn't change anything there. What with the "Anarchist" get-out clause the group supposedly runs itself and I welcome anyone to jump in to prop it up should they wish. It's a self rule criminal anarchy after all. I'll be back sometime though, I can't stay away from CoH/V forever.

As for Villain RP, I think that was Clusterf***ed the day it was invented. But the LoRDs are still kicking behind the scenes and from what I've read there'll be pleanty of fun to come from all that.

eXteel? Occaisionally, but it doesn't have any RP so I slowly grow tired of slicing robots to pieces with giant swords, in a sea of LULZ. It has its awesome moments, but it's no MMO. Nowadays I'm playing me some Tabula Rasa. Pistols/Walk-Mode/Weapon-Holsters/Near-Future-Setting/Armor-Paint f-t-w!

True.
I'm not quitting completely though.
But I need to seriously "downsize" my playtime for a while.
