    City of Cute...

Very sweet pics. Could GoodGuy be cutefied as well please? (The spandex colours are red, grey and gold and his hair is very dark blue)
  2. The young hero unwillingly named Rabbit-Man was on the prowl in Steel Canyon.
As usual he was in a foul mood that only lifted (slightly) when he got to beat up a bunch of burglars or muggers.

He was currently crouched on a ledge of a rooftop when he saw hundreds of people gather in the streets and frantically wave their arms in the air.
More and more people gathered and soon the first fights started.

“What’s this then?” he said to himself. “Too early for the carnival.”

He reached down and twisted a knob on each of his boots. A nice pair of piston-boots he "borrowed" from a crazy burglar he arrested last month.
With a soft hiss they were ready for action.

“I wish I could come up with a cool sounding catch-phrase, but rabbits are bloody hopeless. Damn you Jenkins.”

With a mighty thump he leapt towards the commotion.
  3. Just try to enter "Badgehunters". I think a bloke called Sal is the creator of the channel.
  4. As promised (albeit a bit late) I hereby present...

    Rabbit-Man!

    Was that GoodGuy?!
When the hell did you get back???

    [/ QUOTE ]
My dear brothers gave me 60 days of game-time for Christmas since they thought I'd moaned a bit too much about getting back in the game.
You know what they say... You really can't leave permanently can you?

I've respeced/renamed GoodGuy into Scion since I wanted a "clean" character. I haven't involved myself in any heavy RP yet since my playtime is a bit random. It's not fair to the other players if the plot is lacking momentum because of my lack of appearing.

My best appearance this far is that of Rabbit-Man (mentioned by Ravenswing here )
    I'll post a picture tonight.
  6. Many nice costumes here.

My former main (now renamed and respeced for RP reasons) had a classic style that I liked. I've always prefered the golden and silver age looks above more modern leather-and-armour styles.

    Incognito

    Classic

    "Space suit"
  7. Yes, an AV might be beaten by a single character (highly unlikely without the use of WB nukes or Shivans IMHO) but most of the time it takes a team to do it.
And I'm not just talking about the really heavy dudes like Recluse or Statesman/Reichsman.
Most heroes/Villains would have a hard time beating Manticore. And he's just a guy with a bow!

Game-mechanics and IC powers should not be taken as equal. True.
But I still think that the Incarnates are top-notch.

I agree with you Shadowe that cosmic characters are fun. And I might even (a bit grudgingly maybe) accept that some characters can surpass the Incarnates in one aspect while lack in others.
What I don't like is the sheer amount of godly/cosmic entities out there. There seem to be more gods/angels/demons in Paragon than in the seven heavens combined sometimes.

Cosmic scale characters are fun to play, but are more suited in a tight and controlled group. And your average MMO aint exactly that.
Therefore I think they should be avoided. (Again, this is purely my own opinion and not an attack.)

I've yet to see someone portray a cosmic level character in a believable and fun (as in inspirational and not ha-ha) way. Complete with weaknesses and all.
Cosmic characters shouldn't only be limited by their own will like "my morality keeps me from doing it" or "I haven't found out I can do it yet". They need a real way to weaken and beat them.

    Much like Mr Mxyzptlk.

He can do ANYTHING. He could reduce Superman to a pile of smoking ashes in a nanosecond, but he doesn't because it wouldn't be fun.
But you can banish him by making him say his own name backwords (Or to fulfill the criteria he himself set in the newer versions).
Either way, even this apparent god can be beaten by anyone.
  8. I always treat god-characters (and I use that term to describe all characters that have "Ultimate power". Not characters who might be actual gods with limited powers, like the Oh God of Hangovers from Terry Pratchett's Hogfather) as delusional megalomaniacs.

There's no substance what so ever in their ramblings about über-mighty-world-destroying-powers.
Why? Because there are eleventy-one other "gods" out there who could counter that with their own über-mighty-world-saving-powers.
    Dull and drossy beyond belief.

BUT! If I treat them as delusional morons they might even be worth a laugh or two.

The CoX universe has very, very few god-characters. The Incarnates.
And according to the in game lore there are possibly five of them. (A list can be found here )

Now I know that RP:ers like to treat game-lore with a bit of artistic freedom (I do the same) and that most can't stomach to read up on each and every snippet of info in the cimerora arches etc.

But it's a whole different ballgame to go out there and create characters that's been responsible for the creation of Man, that can read each and every single mind on the planet simultaneously, destroy the Universe in the blink of an eye etc. etc.
(I do beg forgiveness if I have offended any players of characters with these powers. These are all my opinions and I don't intend to belittle your way of playing nor the enjoyment you get from it.)

Personally I like to treat Statesman and Recluse as the pinnacle of power in the CoX universe.
Otherwise there'd be no point in Recluse with cronies being the number one feared enemy.
  9. One hour left to prepare your hero if you want to join in on the competition.
  10. This is what I'm talking about!
Altruism. The core of every true hero.

Sure Skills. If you want to donate some funds we can award more runners up or maybe set up some new categories.
Like a million inf to the "best" character with a maximum of the 3 month badge or something.

Anyway... I'll be there from aprox. 8 pm

    PS. Nice picture Skills
  11. Yes!
    That's right. Character Competition.

Since GoodGuy is leaving the Union Universe, he needs a "replacement". An heir so to speak.
Someone that can uphold the standards of the classic "Golden/Silver-age" hero.

I know those heroes are out there. Don't be shy. Step forward and claim your place in the limelight!

Tonight at 9 pm (Yes, short notice) GoodGuy will be in Atlas Park, under the statue of Atlas himself, and scrutinize the aspirants.

The one with the most heroic attitude, best looking (spandex) costume and a fitting name, will be awarded with three (3) Pangean Soil salvage and two million (2'000'000) influence.

The first runner up will recieve some other rare salvage and a million influence.

Since one of the qualities of a true hero is to be there "just in time", latecommers will be exempt from the competition.

    Excelsior!
  12. I've had no (major) trouble with Invulnerability.
You can survive pretty much anything and with Unyielding toggled you don't even get affected by mezzes (well maybe the really powerfull ones) and knockback.

Psi-damage is ofcourse a problem but can be dealt with by IOs (Impervium armor for example)

Keeping aggro is really the only issue, albeit only at the low levels.

I've played my Inv/SS/EM tanker to lvl 50 and enjoyed every step of the journey. I even took Flight instead of Leaping or Fighting on him just for the sheer fun of it. He can still hold his own against pretty much anything.

But as Sitriel said... "best" is very subjective and each to their own play-style.

Gratz! i saw you in atlas just the other night, I was Ultimate Girl-she is new :P- but anyway Gratz!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ultimate Girl you say? You were there when I trained for the final time. (Hot costume without being slutty by the way )

    Thanks.
  14. Thanks everybody!
It feels nice to be congratulated on the forum. A bit more warming than the "gz" one recieves in a PuG.

And yes Francisca. I'll focus on another toon now. A RP one. Dr Furnace of the Hyperion Watchmen. He's in "desperate need of some levelling love".

My dear Archer.. I've always felt superior to you
Hehehe, not really, but I will be a bit smug the next time we meet.
  15. HAHAHAHA! *facepalms*

Geez. Yes. FFM is right. Union it is!
  16. Ah, I see. Well I guess you're right.
Could a moderator please move it then?
    Thank you.

  17. YES!
Last night I finally reached that illustrious level with GoodGuy.
It "only" took me about 16 months. (Altitis and RP is to blame )

    So... What now?
    It feels so empty.

A mans truth is whatever his wife/girlfriend tells him it is!

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Amen to that!

The only way to be sure would be to /petition yourselves.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I actually did this a while back with Crimson Archer. The waiting for a reply from the GMs was agonising, but thankfully it was favourable and I can now play in peace!

    [/ QUOTE ]
What? How come they didn't react on the fact that Crimson Archer is a blatant rip-off of Green Arrow?

At least GoodGuy is purely original. I mean, how many invulnerable, superstrong, flying heroes with laser-beam eyes and a spandex costume with a big letter on their chest is there out there?
  20. No I don't think it was a prank either (more the fool me if it turns out it was).

I wouldn't call Liz or Vlad unimaginative characters. And they certainly aren't copyright violations!

If you'd called your vampires Lestat or anything from the World of Darkness on the other hand, they would've been.

A lot of characters are based of historical and/or mythological characters. I can't see anything wrong with that.
Hell, alot of characters are near rip-offs of existing supers as well! And the "RP-police" didn't react on that.

As I see it the so called RP-police is just jealous that he/she didn't register the characters first.
  21. I'll be in game after 9 pm (Swedish time, so 8 pm British) so give me a /tell when you're ready and I'll come zooming.

    The Nomads

    [ QUOTE ]
If I remember correctly, GoodGuy is taking a break from the game as well, for his own reasons.

    ...bugger

    [/ QUOTE ]
    True.
    I'm not quitting completely though.
But I need to seriously "downsize" my playtime for a while.

    [ QUOTE ]
Its a curse I tell 'ee. Each member that plans a SG for uber-powerful characters is cursed to leave the game. Beware! Beware the curse I say!

    [/ QUOTE ]
It certainly looks like it, doesn't it?
  23. Thank you Royce for taking an interest in The Guardians of the Earth but I honestly don't think that Captain Daring is what we're looking for.

    Why?
    [ QUOTE ]
What the public fails to realise, however, is that Daring's ego matches his strength. In fact he often cares more about publicity than actually helping out. He is also extremely old fashioned in his view of the world and gender politics. He does not understand the women's liberation movement and does not believe they have any place in the super-hero business.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    This.

The Guardians are supposed to be the self sacrifising hero-types.
The ones that'd give their life to save another.
The heroes that refuse the money and ride of into the sunset with the remark "My reward is that Justice has been served!"

And if you're interested Blindsight GoodGuy will be on tonight for interviews and such.
The SG is new and haven't fully kicked of yet, but you're more than welcome to join if you want to.

If your Captain Atom esq character is what we look for.
  24. I agree with the above and especially with Zortel.
The animations for collapsing, throwing up and so forth are already in the game for feck sake! So what's the problem with assigning emotes for them?
And a less 19:th century camera would be nice.

The /e throwconfetti could be fun if it wasn't time limited though. Great at parties.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
And sorry I couldn't be there, it was too short notice and I was stuck elsewhere.

My mind was with you atleast...

    [/ QUOTE ]
This goes for me as well.

    Godspeed mate!

PS! With Ouroboros in the game ANYONE can come back from death!
