A sort of none UN S.H.I.E.L.D, a new version of Hero Corps?
Or something more covert like the Outsiders?
You've also got stuff like N.E.X.T.W.A.V.E which was S.H.I.E.L.D if it was backed by a corperation much like Crey only with more cool things like rocket powered death crabs.

I've been meaning to do a militaristic character for a while (As a change from the weird or light headed characters I make!) although likely I'll end up going a little Kilgore on you all as my natural insanity bubbles through the cracks.
Even so, I'd be up for this!

And yeah, Cactus, peeps have already compared the idea to S.H.I.E.L.D., Spectrum (minus the Mysterons?), that sort of thing... I suppose the idea has a tiny bit of OutTrigger's InterForce as well. :\

National Guard already exists, these soldiers would likely be working with them as well as the Army.

Strategic National Alliance For Unity, maybe? Very militaristic acronym.
And yeah, it sounds like it could be an interesting little idea.

We were going to do this in the Militia, call it Red Cell. It became notoriously lost to procrastination and whatnot, but while it ran, it was pretty kewl.
The question is, what are the character limits going to be? I have a Neo Death Mage Chick who would be perfect in a military organisation. But I'd also like to use my Psyker Sergeant too. The only problem is that I'm not a big fan of Assault Rifles at all. I would rather go for a Meta-Human who uses their powers like a weapon and backs them up with Pistols, Grenades and Technologies.
It takes Chaos to move the world to Action.

I got a blaster, AR/EM I believe with is sort of army based, even if he was meant to be for my G.R.A.T.A.R.U. team, but that seems to of died off now.
I also have an AR/EM who'd fit perfectly in something like this! They're already in the Military after all, send me a buzz when I'm on to get invited up.

Anyways, I got this idea for a Heroside SG this week, partly based on my AR blaster's backstory. The other AR blaster... *tuts* the pink one!
Anyway, ze story behind it:
Longstaff WarTech, in a bid to combat crime in Paragon City, successfully builds its first airborne carrier and launches it towards the city, where it hovers over, ready to deploy its own crimefighting force where it's needed.
Basically, the base would be the innards of the carrier, or at least the part that matters to the soldiers. There would be a uniform, and I was thinking any power/origin would be welcome.
The idea needs work, but a few peeps in GGOOC seemed to like the idea, so I thought I'd post it here... besides, it'll be much easier to discuss here than in GGOOC. >.>
