agrees totally many good points....
i just didnt want to cramp the RP of the R.A.P.I.E.R toons with stuff that is totally unwanted .....
I am going to assume that R.A.P.I.E.R has to abide by the Posse Comitatus Act which prevents the federal military from carrying out any law enforcement on US soil ie search, seizure, and arrests ..
now just need to work out how the alt earths are going to react .... 
What so we can't arrest this Earth's crims?
hehe yep under US law the army/navy /airforce/marines can not hold any legal arrest powers on US soil 
( miltary base are excempt ).... except when deployed under a offically decleared state of emergency. which means the State Govener has asked the DoD for federal help and either the Prez or Sec of Def has issued a formal order to deploy troops ... or during times of insurection .... oddly the US coastguard are excempt from the Posse Comitatus Act as they come under homeland security .
Love the US ....
I think that gets put aside when anyone can have arrest powers by simply filling out a form >.>
im sure you can make citizen arrests and such as a individual .. .. but the army as a organization can not be given such legal powers they have to have a law officer make the arrest ie PPD FBI et al .
does beg the question what is the legal status of a serving army member with a Hero licence .. which take precedents ..?

So, basically, we can beat the stuffing out of them in the name of national security, and just have a PPD attache read the rights? I'm for that 8D

after all the country has spent billions on finding you some nice guns and bombs to play with ....

Rapid Assault, Protection, Investigation, Evacuation and Rescue. These guys are above your average costumed vigilante out to make a citizen's arrest. These guys are gritty, military heroes, the best of the best, they work under extreme circumstances and always get the job done. They don't make arrests, they do special operations, assaulting the bad guys and putting them down where necessary, with such force that they stay down. They protect the victims, they investigate ill-operations, they evacuate endangered peoples, they rescue the troubled, they do as the United States government orders them to, always with a full and justified reason. The public are free to react to news and rumours of this team however they wish, but the fact are, they are not the bad guys, they do not muscle into other countries, planets or dimensions, without invitation. They are not our world's egomaniac military, these guys really are heroes, who are deployed in rapid response to the world's desperate cries for help. I hope that answers both your questions. Well if I've found out anything about Heroes from the reactions we've got so far, Patriotic they ain't! A Rikti invasion won't phase them but show them someone from their own Armed Services and they'll totally Spaz

Exactly, getting the cold shoulder is fun. Leads to engaging conversation, but as previously stated - people dont always stick to the law and assume Paragon US army is the same as 2008 Bush US army. But by the by its been great fun so far. And i got to use the phrase; "We're the US army, son. Maybe you've heard of us?" which made me happy.

I actually have a dying SG a bit on this theme on Defiant. As I have many alts there and now some slots over/extra on Union I could transfer one that is military in nature.
The SG is called 'Global Justice' and is a privatly funded international organization holding patriotic heroes from all over the world. My russian is an armored hero that could fit in R.A.P.I.E.R. too.

Good god, i'm in that SG. All-american fire/devices blaster.
Anywho, sorry i couldnt make it tonight, was working on my car all day for its MOT and still have some work to do on it (after a wonderful 6 hours spent trying to change a simple rubber seal behind the brake disc - which involved dismantling the entire driveshaft :S); but just rear brake shoes and bleed and change the brake fluid.
But will be there for the next one!

Was very formal! Looking for a chance to get to know the rest of you, we've certainly got some characters.
I agree with Hatesman, the history of the COH world is similar to a point but then after and during world war two its all different, with the council attacking America etc and Nazi super Villains, not to mention the other events. then we have of course the Rikti and then theres Arachnos who are more the terrorists in COH, maybe its possible the military are not looked on half as badly as they are in our world.
The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.
