After being inactive for a long time (11 months or so) I came back and wanted to find my handbook page to update, couldn't remember it so I googled my mains name. It brought up some old thread arcs I had run and I had so much fun reading through them, as I couldn't remember writing half of it.
So yes, sometimes it does feel like the story takes over itself and you're just it's focal point. -
Run!
Its all I could manage before it hit me, square in the back 9 tonnes of armoured personnel carrier. I felt the bones in my back shatter as I was knocked flying into the brickwork of the nearest building; the two super-powered brutes high five each other in the distance. Stunned, I try and focus and shift into Dwarf form. But they are too quick and one lifts his revolver and unleashes a grazing shot. Lucky for me his aim is so bad, but it winds me enough to stop the transformation, the armour piercing round tearing a scrape through the weave of the suit.
Casually, the other brute rips a set of traffic lights from the ground, and swishes it round like a baseball bat, then jogs over to his cohort.
You capes should stay out of the Isles! This is what you get for coming into our playground. You should phone up your longbow buddies and well take them out too chuckles the thick set pistol wielding brute. Closing in on me, he raises his revolver, pointing straight at my chest, not even a child could miss from that distance. Time to send Paragon a message, were the Brothers who killed Infinitron, we wont be messed with. You kill our brother, well get you back.
Wait! Take off his helmet, I want to look this tool in the eye when we finish him, plus the souvenir will be nice, on which note the brother swung the traffic light into the side of my head. With my head spinning, I tried to talk, but I couldnt find any words. Dropping the mangled light, he stepped forward, and unceremoniously ripped the helmet from my head.
Hey, didnt this cat get his face ripped up by that spider guy? Theres not a mark on his face. Clearly spidey was spinning us a web of lies, suppose he got what was coming to him a long fall and a sudden stop he commented.
Meh, yeah whatever, time to end his reign of terror. Hnh, pathetic he quipped as he raised the revolver once more. I closed my eyes and awaited my fate.
Id known the risks when I put on this suit, taking over from Joseph Infinus, my ancestor. By rights I was already supposed to be dead, it was only due to the fact I had been mistaken for him in the first place that I was here being merged with a kheldian. Hed sacrificed himself for what he believed in, for what he considered the greater good; I couldnt knock him for it, I had done the same thing in coming here. He may have taken it too far, eventually being blasted by his own weaponry, with only his cape remaining after his attempt to cleanse the city.
Despite his actions, despite being branded an outlaw, a vigilante, revoking his hero status I still agreed to his wishes to take up his mantle on his demise. I knew the greatness that the hero Infinitron would one day embody, a leader amongst leaders I could not let that fade away. But it seems that I could, lying here, helpless, about to become a trophy kill to a pair of criminals.
As these final thoughts rushed through my head, I was stirred by new sound; actually, no - an absence of sound. I could no longer hear the drone of nearby air conditioning units, the twitter and chirp of local wildlife, the dulcet tones of distant gunfire. I opened my eyes, and immediately regretted doing so. Between the two brute brothers an insanely bright light was growing, and they were transfixed by it. With a sudden crack and flash of blinding light, the two brothers were flung, unconscious, to each side. Accompanying the crack, a swirling vortex had appeared out of which a body fell.
As I slumped to my side, dropping out of consciousness I looked into the scarred face of Joseph Infinus, lying unconscious infront of me. And with that, I finally passed out. -
I haven't been ingame for 3 weeks or so. Lost interest in the game at the moment.

Cracking his knuckles, Enerfist emerged from the Arachnos sub. Touching the communicator on his wrist, he spoke;
"Moving to position outside Portal Corps.; got the old suit on, they shouldn't suspect a thing - just another hero going about his 'duty'" he uttered, "give me the go Ed when it's time"
And with that he blasted off into the sky and northwards. -
Yeah the sniper AoE is lovely, as Infinitron is AR/Nrg munitions was the route i went down for my first build. I now run with force pool, as temp invul and force of nature are very useful. The reason was i didnt use LRM enough, as build up + flamethrower + full auto + grenade launcher was sufficient enough for most mobs; and in a pacey team the snipe is useless.

Will send cozzie file tonight, until then powersets for Enerfist is an energy/inv brute - but based off originally an AR/energy blaster. Energy manip is his mutation. AR and Inv is picked up by the weapon for the former and the armour for the latter

"I believe thanks are in order. You killed that self-righteous impostor, parading around Paragon as me. I am disappointed I didn't get to do it myself, but what's done is done. I have many other chances for revenge; and on that matter, I will join you and your little endeavour. I have another person that I will also bring along; a person with particular skills that will help us all. Allow me to introduce The Night Assassin" indicating behind him "Let the chaos begin; and you know the thing about Chaos... it's fair" concluded Enerfist, profering his hand.

((may I say that i very much enjoy your style of writing BeyondReach, could really picture this in my mind; might just have to join in on this - but The Walking Shadow doesn't do picking up sewage covered corpses :P))

"Plans Edward?" Came a voice from the darkness. A figure stepped forwards from the shadows of Mechanos lab. Removing his helmet, Edward gazed upon the face of Joseph Infinus, although there appeared no scar across his eye.
"We have things to discuss" -
I'm planning to come in still Shad, PM me with your character details and we can make it a duo entry if they fit together
-
*In the corner of the room, a shielded, cloaked recording device clicked off*
-
I wont be able to make the first meeting, as am busy all this week. Still need to evaluate how my character would come about this meeting.
-
With notice I should be able to make most times. Maybe not tomorrow night or next thursday

In a lead lined basement, somewhere in Port Oakes, a figure picked up a modified Arachnos helmet, and placed it over their head. The figure turned back to the screen and replayed the recorded transmission.

Enerfist fits the bill for this nicely; he is a clone of (the now deceased) Joseph Infinus, corrupted by Recluse. He believes himself to be the true Infinitron and what was Infinus as a clone knocked up by city hall to cover up his defection. Introducing him into this world would be brilliant, he has the tech skills to create elaborate weapons, and the whole working with Doc Mechano will throw up some interesting RP for Ed - considering this is essentially the man who tried to kill him and who Ed ending up killing.
Count me in. -
I might be able to pop in for a bit at 11 after dropping my girlfriend home. To the tailors for cozzie!
-
I go by the pseudonym Infinitron; I'm a 45 month vet, and I'm staying put.
-
"Stupid more like" I stepped out of the darkness, and walked up to the pair. "You got lucky"
"As for this guy and your better safe than sorry mentality? Not so lucky" And with that I punched the guy in the face; the shattering of his nose, the spurt of blood down his face and then slump of his now unconcious head.
"Have you recovered the stolen property? Or are you too busy admiring the fireworks you put on?" -
3:59AM - Steel Canyon, Infinicorp. HQ
In the darkness, two lidless eyes burnt bright blue. Motionless the figure stood. The screen in the corner of the room beeped once. The figure turned and the screen flickered on. Silently he watched.
As the broadcast drew to a close, the screen clicked off and the figure looked down from the monitor. Drawing his fists into a close, the figure grew brighter and brighter and then burst with an almighty flash. Standing in the same space was a gold and silver armour clad figure.
The door slid open and the figure strode out, leaving the room cold and dark once more. -
As I watched the events unfold outside, my mind raced to keep up.
"Curfew is over" I announced as I pushed open the door. In a blink of an eye I was picking up the thermal goggles that the Lieutenant had dropped. Another blink and I was flicking between the shadows following the police cars and the thermal trail of the perps. -
I turned as I heard the screech of tires. I saw the cloud of smoke and steam rising gently into the air, an unfair parody of the chaos that was occuring. When I saw the officers drawing their weapons as some of the hostages fell to their knees, my heart skipped a beat. This was not good. This was definetly not good. What the hell was going on?

((she wasn't impressed when I showed her the game, and I rather enjoy the alternative
))

((events have taken their course and I will be unable to attend as I will be with my better half both nights. Shame as I had a great outfit planned.))
