  1. Ok... so it is different for Task Forces than for normal content. Because in normal content everyone lower than the mission holder is at -1.

Or is it unique because normally the mission holder's level isn't changed. So in essence I was side-kicked to 49 and exemplared to 40 at the same time. Interesting. I had no idea it worked that way.

So does that mean if the star was *exactly* 40 we would have been 39?
  2. I never noticed a flying one in that mission, only the one on the ground that serves as the mission entrance... assuming I'm thinking about the same one.

    That is weird.
  3. Last night we did a Numina TF. This is the first one in a long time that I've run a character below the maximum of the TF. There were several of us in the 36-38 range but the star was a level 50.

I *expected* for the 50's to be exemplared to 40 and the rest of us to be sidekicked to 39.

What actually happened was that everyone was 40.

Once we found out we regretted not going with a +2 difficulty.

Has anyone else seen the sidekick system working differently in task forces than it does in regular content or did we just have some sort of weird glitch?
  4. Last weekend my wife and I were doing the Defeat Tuatha in Misty Woods (from Nemmers). They are straight in front of her so we ran over and killed some... no credit. Put my nav point on the Misty Woods marker, which was very close, and ran over there where some tuatha were standing almost directly on it and killed those... no credit.

We finally found a spot where we could get credit for them (about 100 yards closer to Nemmers and slightly toward the university side) and drew them all to that spot to finish the mission.

That mission is seriously bugged or the markers are not in the right place. Personally I think it is centered on her, not where it currently is.

We didn't have any trouble with the fir bolgs but they were on the opposite side of the pond. Red Caps I always have to pull from around Buck into the Misty Woods area. I rarely see them where I need them... at least not while I have the mission.

Edit: Definitely agree that Nemmer's hunts cause the opposite to spawn LOL

Oh yeah... that explains what happened when my plant controller and her scrapper buddy did that mission and why some of them were insane and some were not.

I will say though that when we got finished my wife was writing the contact down in her notebook as a definite do again. That was what we call a "sweaty palms" mission. By the time it's all done you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding and wiping your palms on your pants while your heart slows back down.
  6. Looks like Synapse is a popular task force.

Focused Sense with 3 TOs goes from 13.875 to 15.96 or so. So yea... I'll use TOs.

Edit: I suspect that those who team rather than running from 1 to 50 solo are more lax in their slotting.
This - word for word. Lately, with the price you can get for the large inspirations you get in the tutorial, I can finance myself through DO's on that alone.

I definitely notice the difference between an unslotted character and one that isn't, at least in a solo situation.

    Merge ouroborus

Obviously contacts can recognizing alignment and there are only 4 that need changing (if they aren't the same npc copy in each zone already). And while trying to create a merged crystal or portal borders on crazy talk there's nothing wrong with having unique iterations of those in the same area by simply restricting who can use which like the doors in Pocket D. I don't see any of that as serious obstacles.

The main hurdle I see is making the teaming rules in a co-op Ouroboros work differently than it does in other co-op zones. In other co-op content the teams can be any alignment since they never leave the zone, but in Ouroboros villains and heroes shouldn't be able to team up together because of the flashback missions. Otherwise you'd have villains traveling to Paragon and heroes traveling to the Isles on teams where the leader that started the flashback was an opposite alignment.

However, I think even that can be overcome and see a merge as the ultimate fix for the current Ouroboros issues - middle alignments unable to use the proper Ouroboros for the area they are in when in story lore they are the same place.

I don't believe I mentioned the market at all although now that you mention it... boo on demons in the market. Gah what a noise!

That's because the pets do not actually transition. They are killed in the old zone and re-created in the new one. They seem to get the MM buffs back but not any others.

Point taken. However, you should watch your aggro. Just last night a demon MM in PI ran to the entrance of our mission where we were waiting for the rest of our party. He waited for a moment for his demons to catch up then entered the mission, ignoring the aggro train of devouring earth that followed his pets to the door. We were stuck cleaning that up. Fortunately it wasn't a big deal but if we had been a few levels lower it would have bordered on griefing.
  10. I played my first two characters without using WW's for a couple of months (mainly because the interface totally frustrated and intimidated me). I found recipes were too few and "common" salvage too rare to adequately slot the powers. I also found that only having slotted what dropped to result in a character so sub-par that they were almost unplayable (not that we knew any better, we just thought the game was REALLY challenging).

Sometime around 15th or 16th level I found the DO enhancement stores but was unable to buy much because of the expense. I skated around with barely slotted toons who were constantly broke well into the mid-20's until one day a Deific Weapon dropped and I finally, grudgingly, sold it at WW's and I haven't looked back.

I couldn't imagine trying to do that again... on purpose, but good luck!

We ran this last night as a super group set to +2 (I was side-kicked so +3 to me) and an 8 man team. This is exactly how it went down for us.

As we were re-entering the mission someone walked too far in from the doorway and aggroed the boss before everyone was ready so it was a very messy fight. I managed to survive but the majority of the party was face-planted when we got done and the mission completed. We jumped up on the balcony just to see what was left and found wall-to-wall Malta down the hall. We decided that using the Mission Exit button was the better part of valor.

    MM zone bug

You know, you could just dismiss them before you transition and hold off re-summoning them until you actually need them. I've never understood the desire of apparently most MM's to have a train of pets chasing them all over the great outdoors. And no, I don't think fear of the once-in-a-blue-moon ambush is a particularly good reason.

At any rate, My theory is that it has to do with lag. If the pets are re-created on the other side (they don't actually transition with you) before you've fully transitioned in then they'll be masterless. I've noticed the faster someone is at transitions the less it happens to them, and the slower the more often.
  13. 2.99, maybe 3.99, and I would have gotten it most likely... but not at 7.99, not without twice as many emotes and/or some costume bits (like a necklace "shoulder" or a gold watch bare hands "glove" or sweat band head detail).

Pass, but thanks anyway. Maybe next time.
  14. Mercenaries keel over dead on dismissal too.

It is rather annoying and I hope they fix it soon, but at least it isn't game-breaking.

That's the one that bugs me. I either leave them off or pick a chest that includes something covering the elbow.

I'll never understand why broken costume pieces aren't repaired more quickly than they are, especially the premium pieces we have to pay extra for. As it is there *seems* to be no effort at all in doing that. I realize that could be perception caused by not being told when things are fixed.
  16. I'm pretty sure Face Book *does* have a superhero game but I don't know what it is called. Several people in my SG are hooked on it.
  17. Circle of Thorn 1-50 if anything spectral is included.

Low level game - Vahz although endurance-draining clockwork are no picnic either
High level game - Knives & Vanguard

Individuals - Carnie bosses and Shard Eyes.
Runner Ups - Sky Raider Engineers or Malta Sappers when there is more than one in a spawn.

Edit: Super Stunners are climbing the ladder quickly and may soon knock something off the list.
  18. Option 1 - and the gladiator shoulders is a perfect example. Keeping the old one would have made no sense despite the hue and cry and the gnashing of teeth from some people when it first changed.

    Temps Art Thread

I thought her breasts looked realistic considering the lack of any obvious support and the positioning of the body suit. I know most folks want them to defy gravity but I like them natural.

I loved her face and hair, and the gun was awesome. To me that was the focus of the piece. The trenchcoat looked like an afterthought but it was a nice touch.
  20. Nothing I can add. I finished a Citadel last night and nothing like that happened.

I know a long time ago (like well over a year) the disconnect-after-TF-finished for Synpase was a big problem. Sometimes people would lose their award and sometimes not. I don't remember the specifics. I thought it was fixed about the same time they stopped auto-disbanding the team when the contact was called the last time.

Edit to add: Waiting for Support to get back to you is really all you can do at this point.

Yeah. You can tell I love that mission
    ROFL *Wipes tears from eyes*

    Last few days:
*click click click* "Why won't you hit him? He's almost dead!" *Mapserver Disconnected* "Aww come on!"

Anytime I play someone that really depends on knocking stuff up/down to stay alive:
"NO NO NO Immobs! WTF? What do you think that's going to accomplish!? Well I see they are shooting you now, serves ya right!"

    But most frequently:
    "95% to-hit my a$$!"
and said in a matter-of-fact voice...
"Of course you missed... a buildup/assasinate together? What other result could there be?"

Sadly my luck from the old table-top days has followed me into the online gaming arena.
  22. Ah, I thought the alpha slot was coming out in i19. Or do you mean that the majority of the incarnate system is in i20? Still seems strange to start testing on issue 20 before 19.
  23. My martial arts/regen scrapper will get to have tough/weave AND stay true to her concept. Same for my dark tank.

I see more leadership on my defenders/controllers, more medicine on my dominators, more attacks on my mastermind, more primary/secondary powers earlier on my stalkers. More anciliary/patron powers on everyone.

    I'm very pleased.
  24. I assume it is issue 19 that's going, I guess went, into closed beta and not issue 20?
