Quote:I'm excited about all of this and I agree - I reallllly want my Menders to look more the part - please give us those belts, shoulders, etc.!As a joinable faction, Ouroboros should top this list despite their not currently being an enemy group. Just sayin'.
Longbow ought to be a priority too, I suppose, even though we beat 'em up all the time over on redside... but seriously, can I have my Mender parts already? Please? -
Enchanter is kind of a mix between Dr. Fate and Doctor Occult.
Soviette is kind of a female, Russian version of Captain America. Though that may end up changing if Brutes get Broadsword. She has MA/Shield right now and is Blue side but I'd ideally make her a Brute who turns Hero.
Prank is a mix between Batman and the Joker. Crazy and mean like the Joker but has the gadget making support that Batman has.
Doctor Arachnid is a mix between Doctor Doom and Doc Octopus. Although he deals more in genetics instead of magic (in regard to Doom) the rest is all robotics/tech. -
I'd like to keep my Dom there, who is a Seer (in the Power Division by decree of Mother Mayhem) but I really need a second costume slot for her Domination mode costume. It saddens me that we can't get one in Praetoria!
Her name is Viewer and I rather like her look - I just don't know if I'll keep her in Praetoria or not due to the limitations thus far. -
I didn't check to see if they were returning or new but I saw a LOT of broadcast requests on how to do simple commands in Praetoria on Virtue. So they were either new or returning and asking for help with stuff that got added after they had left.

I'm making one and at first I used Mutant as the Origin. After consideration though, with the Seers mirroring elements of the Fortunatas in Primal Earth, I'm wondering if I should make her Natural.
Has anyone seen any in game indication or other canon that tells us what the psychics of Praetoria fall under, in particular the Seers? I'm guessing Mutant and Natural could work in this case and Magic could work in the case of psychics outside of the Seers (maybe even in the Seers as well). -
This. I really do hope they do Hero patron arcs/powers at some point.

I've actually skipped the shield powers before due to the symbol. Please let us opt out of the repeating Patrol symbol!

Quote:Sooo excited! One of the projects we are working on is to create more alternate animations for various powers. The animators asked me which powers I wanted to have this applied to and rather than simply come up with a list myself, I thought it would be interesting to open the discussion to you the fans.
Caveat:
Powers with Alternate Animations will still have nearly the exact same Animation Lengths, so this thread is not about creating shorter animations for various powers.
So, let's hear it! Tired of doing Backflips with Eviscerate? Sick of beating your chest like Tarzan? Eyebeams not your cup of tea? Tell us about it!
I'd love to see an alternate animation for Hurl Boulder. One that the Legacy Chain use (with the animation being a bit longer of course to match). I'd love to see this for Earth Assault and some of the Earth Mastery powers.
I'd also love to see Arcane variations of all of the Heal Power Pool powers - Aid Other, Self, etc. where you see runes or potions or some such being used instead of a Tech device.
Perhaps also let us pick Flight poses in the Customization window instead of using macros.
Would also love to be able to pick a different effect for the Domination build up and activation power. This may be under customization instead of animation but just in case, throwing it in here too. Something like flames build up around you as you build Domination and then when activated it explodes like a Fire Blaster AIM power. Allow us to get rid of the rainbow and sparkles if we choose and have a Domination build up and activation per set - Fire, Electricity, Mind, Plant, Earth, Ice, etc.
Yay!!! -
Elec/Elec dom - not sure which way she'll end up. I actually don't know if I'll take her through Praetoria or not tho.
I'll have to roll a couple toons at least but so far most of my concepts are Paragon or Rogue Isles. Hrm. -
A Supergroup tab on your character info, next to the Description tab, that lets you have the Default description of the SG that you're in. That way people can look at SG members and see what their SG is about. Little bit of advertisement.
-
I may end up doing a Warshade and an Illusion/Rad actually. So that may make 3 heroes who stray from the Blue.
-
I don't have many heroes that will go totally red but I do have at least one going gray. She's a druidic type right now but will go gray to dish out some hurt to anyone messing with Mother Nature (heroes or villains).

My Widow: Arachne
My Crab: Doctor Arachnid (geneticist, robotics genius, etc. makes his own spider army)
I had Anansi once and let it go, foolishly. He'd have been a SoA probably. -
Quote:I'm not so sure how involved such customizations will be but I believe 2.0 would have options for most power pools, including travel powers. I think one of the bigger complaints over the years has been Hasten having your hands on nuclear fire and Super Speed having a small super nova at your feet. I hope they let us do different default flight poses in the customization section so you can always default to your set flight pose, instead of having to macro it each time you want to use it.cool how about travel powers too?
super jump with fire instead of yellow dust rings! flying with electricity sparking behind you etc...
Having different effects for travel powers like Fire Flight and the like would be extra gravy - all over that.
I'd also love having a choice between tech Heal Other and magic Heal Other - let me throw a rune at someone or a potion, etc. to heal them instead of pulling out something from Star Trek. :P -
I agree with that assessment. :P I just don't want a bugged toon.
I'd think that I'd see something like 5 minutes at least for any of the three passives if I logged out for a day. Grumble. That way I could at least see if I'm accruing time, even if the end results of the powers leave something to be desired. -
And an additional question: how long do you have to be logged out to see some sort of persistent buff? I know they don't last long but shouldn't just one full day offline in one of those locations give me 2 buffs? The Ouro and Time Lord OR the Cimeroran and Time Lord? After one full day as marked on the character select, I saw none of those.
Of course I've been offline weeks at a time and still not seen them but to do a hard test I'd like to get some #s. CS wasn't able to help me and passed me off to QA and closed the ticket. Meh. -
I have the Time Lord Accolade and I've logged on this toon and logged him back out at both locations over and over again but I can't seem to get the Time Lord's Boon to display on my upper right buff display. The day jobs for when I go to each location show up but even those don't display after I've left Ouroboros or Cimerora.
I've appealed the issue but the only answer I get is that it's not a charged buff so it doesn't show up in your power trays. Which I already knew.
Any ideas? -
I'm taking one Brute to Blue side once Brutes get Martial Arts or Broadsword. It's a concept toon.
Otherwise I'm taking a couple heroes to Red side and have a couple that are going to be floaters in between. That's it. -
Quote:Agreed. I really like some of the less super humanly fast animations that the Thug MM dual pistols use. It's making me roll one concept as a MM instead of a DP for sure.and some Dual Pistols users would love to use the Thugs MMs animations.
I'm definitely making use of those DP animations tho but just with the appropriate concepts to support the extremely (visually) fast animations. -
Quote:I should clarify - definitely forces with a strong nature bent. Plant is definitely the primary so looking for secondary and APP/PPP.Well depending on how primal you mean, something with heat, gravity or electricity (EM spectrum) is about as primal as it gets.
So fire/elect secondary looks like strong candidates.
Does anyone weather itself is a strong primal force over Earth Assault? -
I have a plant/storm (earth or fire APP) Controller that has been my Primeva character for some time now. I'm contemplating renaming her to the Ovate and go pure druid concept with it and rerolling Primeva to a Plant/Earth Dominator. Reason being: I feel that plant and earth could be more of a primal force - with Leviathan mastery (or fire APP in GR).
Do you think storm or earth assault is more of a primeval force? I'm waffling between the two! hehe
I'd be tying her backstory to the landmass in Nerva of course if I roll her as a Dominator. -

Quote:The one recent though about DP I had was that even though it looks a little supernatural/inhuman with all the flashy afterimage effects, I could maybe get behind it with playing the fact that his probability manipulation is putting him in the right place at the right time with his bullets so he can move all crazy like but it's actually him finding the right probable place to pump you fill of lead. I don't know. :P Kin is fun but that's a lot of redraw for DP and of course the speed boost bot is something I always dreaded (tho I have a couple). How about DP/Kinetics? Kinetics seems like it would really work for probability manipulation: bad luck for enemies, good luck for allies.
The other recent factor is purely cosmetic with the costume - any melee sets make the warrior pads look like crap. They clip far too much and it drives me crazy. I tried out DP/Nin last night and discovered that. Now they work just fine with DP and other ranged attacks (mostly fine anyway).
If I want to keep him melee I have to change the shoulder pieces out and I tried this. Does it still look good? I think so but I got so used to the warrior pads that it gives me pause. Hehe. I'm way too picky I suppose.

Quote:I certainly hope you're not referring to my original post. Because I never made any such insistence nor do I have some random ridiculous concept that I find fault with the devs for not allowing.I guess what bothers me most about this whole thing is the insistance that the Devs should make EVERY idea a player has a feasible one within the cofines of the game. To me, it is far more fun, and imaginitive, to work with the limited options that we have, and to make them work in the best ways one can. If you create some ridiculous concept like a bunny wielding panther and then get mad because you can't make it in the game... well, the problem does NOT lie with the Devs.
I simply asked for the functionality to have multiple types of weapons w/o requiring a new powerset for it. A functionality that I hoped was less complicated than a new powerset to implement (which apparently I was wrong to some degree as there's plenty of complication implied in this thread).
The concept for what it's worth was a melee oriented toon based on face cards (with the name Face Card) who with his King of Diamonds costume would use axes, with his King of Spades costume use swords and the Queen of Clubs uses.. a club/mace/hammer. Etc. If I stick with the melee concept for this toon then I'll try to work in swords, use the vet reword axe and mace mastery from Patron pools. It's definitely not the same or as fluid and immersive as the original wish list item but it helps with a few iconic trappings here and there.
And I've also had plenty of other concepts for weaponmaster types - a Warrior Goddess for example that used shields and various blades/smashing weapons.
I implement these concepts regardless of the limitations of realizing them fully in game, I figured I'd put a suggestion forth that would carry the concepts further since these were things that I *could* do in other games. However, I don't like said other games as much as I love City of.
