Well depending on how primal you mean, something with heat, gravity or electricity (EM spectrum) is about as primal as it gets.
Heroes : Angrem (50 Stone tank), Exo Inferis (50 Fire blaster), Exo Proteus (50 ill/emp), IceVengance (50 cold defender)
Villains : AtomBomb (50 Rad/Kin corruptor), Aleks (50 SS/Inv brute), StoneLethal (50 EM/Stone brute), Davroz (50 Bots/Dark mastermind)

So fire/elect secondary looks like strong candidates.

As far as what fits? I'd say that most of them are a good choice. Earth, Air (storms), Fire, and water (Ice). Maybe you should look at which one will play best for you, and use that to decide?

I have a plant/storm (earth or fire APP) Controller that has been my Primeva character for some time now. I'm contemplating renaming her to the Ovate and go pure druid concept with it and rerolling Primeva to a Plant/Earth Dominator. Reason being: I feel that plant and earth could be more of a primal force - with Leviathan mastery (or fire APP in GR).
Do you think storm or earth assault is more of a primeval force? I'm waffling between the two! hehe
