  1. Misha flashed her middle claw for a brief moment at Richard.
"Does that dye work with fur? And easily removable?"

Looking to Burned Ice she comments "Casual jeans and jacket, with a bandana face mask would be best, I think."
  2. Misha chuckles and pats Burned Ice on her knee.
Not saying, but thinking: if this is the worst, we'll be lucky indeed.

"He is cute though, in a way."
  3. Misha looks around.
"Well, as far as I know, there's supposed to be 2 non Vigil members, so at least one more, maybe some more from the Vigil too."
  4. Misha retracts her claws and glances at the black eye.
"He is, yes. On both front." Her nose twitches a little. "Curious choice of perfume, at least it's faint."

Looking at the slits in the gloves. "Sharp enough to slice through most metals."
  5. Misha looks from BurnedIce to Richard and back.
"That's Shadowe, unless I'm very much mistaken. Not Vigil, but a friend."

Aiming her hands into unoccupied and well out of the way air she extends her wolverine like claws and mumbles "Darned regenerating armour..."
  6. Misha Hannigan, the yellow cheeta woman takes a seat in an isle seat. Misha is clad in the black armour of the UV, but without the identifiable white stripe as well as a leather coat and skirt.
She straps herself in as soon as she's seated. More nervous about the flight then their destination, or so it would seem.
  7. I like the morphability, the close reference to the RL but with the fantastic.

WoW has a big world, a nice fantasy feel about it. I like it, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. But, it's all very set in stone, it's what it is, little can be changed, and it's hours upon hours of reading to catch up. I know a bit, as I played Warcraft 1 and 2, but I haven't paid much attention to the story.

So, what I like about the setting is that it's easy to get in to, it's easy to create convversation pieces: just take from RL if it's nothing major or political.

Somehow I don't see someone in a WoW pub breaking the ice by saying "What about those Lakers, eh?" and be taken serious enough.

I find the setting a good blend between the present day, Scifi and Fantasy.

Bad Nene, what'll Dee think, when she gets back from being Lost in Time and Space?

Probably that she tought her well?

As for the remaining slots... I've got a couple of names I'd like to 'reserve' for if and when I finally unlock the Epic ATs... <_<

    [/ QUOTE ]
Then do so you can always delete them if you have need of the slots. And if you make the costume hidious enough (a few klicks on random should do) you're pretty much guarenteed to not play them

    and if

what can be suggested to avoid getting myself in a similar mess again?

    [ QUOTE ]
Problem is, all the stuff that seems to happen to them is largely random and barely planned out, and most of what happens to them tends to happen to my main, Mr. Pointless, so I'm thinking things are getting messy my end. And frankly, something good really needs to happen to him for once. :\

    [/ QUOTE ]
Then I have some points for consideration.
But please note, they're in general as I don't know any of your characters or situations. Other then that I've seen the name a few times. (I've a limited attention sphere, what happens outside it gets lost as background noise at GG)

First of all, consider if the random things happening to them is caused by yourself or other characters (or players).
If it's other players, there's only three things I see as possible changes, but I might be limited in my vision.
1, Alter your reactions to the situations, make it less of a big deal? If that is IC to do so, if it's not, consider a retcon? (but probably move on to next points )
2, Limit exposure to those characters. (It's an obvious and unpopular tip, but should be said none the less. It's always an option.)
3, Balance it with happier more structured pass times on the side. These can easily be off screen (as in, your character does them when you're not logged on).

If it's by your own doing, ask yourself why.

About the random things, you could balance them with some structure. Even something as simple as having a daytime (or part time) job gives a semblance of some structure and allows for some comments picked up at civic work.

If you have trouble with remembering things, plot or character related, you could have a book (or folder on your hard drive with text files) that you put important information in. Enabling chat logging can be a great help with this as well.

As for happy things happening, you can think of just about anything. From winning a car or something in a lottery, to getting a possitive article in a newspaper... to even the high school sweetheart calling to get together for dinner and catching up. Or if it's in the heroic line: a fan club? finally some recognition, taking out a Rikti Dropship for bragging rights and so on and so on.

Any way, enough rambing on my part... I hope some of it was useful to someone...

    Good luck and have fun!

    { 13-2-2008 - The Den Meeting room }

Laura waits patiently as people start to arrive, drinks standing ready for those that want any.
She nods and greets those that arrive, but belays questions, telling them to wait just a bit longer.

As the clock strikes, Laura looks around.
“Looks like everyone that’ll be here is here.”
“Yes, you’re right in noticing Tony’s not here.”

Laura takes a deep breath, a pause to let each digest that detail.
“Tony has stepped out of the Hyenas and signed it over to me.”

She takes a sip of her own beer, letting everyone speak their mind at this before calling for order again.
“Not a lot will change, other then that I’ll be busier no doubt” she smirks.
“All benefits will remain the same, other then any personal deals any of you made with Tony and I know nothing of.”

“There are some changes I’m going to make.
For one, I’m now the leader here, but I need someone to lead out there, in the field. If any of you feels like taking on that role, speak to me sometime.
Second, I’ll be looking for a bit more structure while still leaving you with much freedoms in regard to contracts. I’m not sure how to do so yet, this is an advance notice.”

“If any of you want to step out for what ever reason, let me know, there will be no fuss.”

“Last but not least, we have a new member by the name of Targh, please show him the courtesy you would any other member.”

Laura takes an other sip of her beer to wet her mouth, belay some of the nerves she feels at addressing a group like this.
“If there are any questions, ask them here or come see me in private.”

Through it all, the Peddler leaned against the wall to her office, knowing most of this, of course but curious where this road leads. Wondering whether to cut her losses or try to make the most of it. Not an expression showed on her face during it all, almost unmoving except for her eyes wandering the gathered people, gauging the responses and feelings.

    Bah, I can't win!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, you have to realise that 95 to 99% of your thoughts have been thought by someone else already, somewhere.

So most ideas won't be that original.

It's up to you to ask yourself:
"Okay, so it's been thought of before, but will this be fun enough to think of again? Doing it it?"

And if both are met with the answer "yes" then gopher it.

Usual Activities: IC Missions, GM hunts, social RP, plot RP, and forum RP.

Other Activities: Dunno, depends on what events are going on at the time.

Updated the contact and Wiki page.
With Britanic out of the game for the forseeable future, he's handed the Hyenas to me.
  14. An other tip (though it can be more labouros and less rewarding) is to look on the Union Wiki.

See who'd fit in your SG, send them a poke/PM and ask if they're interested.

Keep in mind that characters might not be very active. There could be IC or OOC reasons why a character doesn't join as well.

So, yes... generating interest through story/plot does seem better. Being visible at GG and/or PD doesn't hurt, though.
  15. I'd like to see more stories getting nominations, so... here's my nomination:

    Zero Hour
Just because it was written by a friend does not deter from the quality of the piece, nor the validity of the nomination!

((well pet peves aside, if there are people who will jump straight down the throat of another person for asking a simple question (which I might add was not to you) then I dont think I'll want to join this group and I cant see how it will hold together, have fun))

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I think there's a missunderstanding here...
Please allow me to repeat the message without the intended humour and without mentioning the pet peve again (as I said I wouldn't):

We only have the Peddler as a magic user at the moment. So if you have a magic user, he/she'd no doubt be welcome... You just have to get past the interview like everyone else.

    edit:
Eventhough the question wasn't directed at me, I still feel like I'm capable of answering it, let me do so in a more complete way.

Question: "have you thought about any magick characters?"

Answer: "No doubt, but it is unimportant if HE thought of that or not. He's given everyone creative freedom to create characters on their own and sign up. No other magic user has signed up. This won't be a problem, as a good GM adabts a plot to the capabilities of the group. That said, a magic user would probably create more interesting situations and expand the scope of the group's abilities, and there for plot capabilities."
  19. (( my pet pieve says no... we don't need a magick person...
Though we only have the Peddler as a magic user, so if you get a magic user you'd no doubt be welcome... if you can get past the interview!
But no magick user ... yes, pet pieve, I know, won't mention it again ))
  20. I've read here the problems of playing a villain.
I myself don't play the evil villain because of the OP, it makes me feel icky after a bit.

Now, it's said that you can't RP unless you're at least a nice guy(ish).

So, how do those that want to play the evil, nasty bad guy do it?
Thoughts, suggestions, heralding from the good old days?

    Warehouse Real-Estate Crash

Temperatures weren’t the only things rising in the Temperature Industrial district last night. The rubble of the warehouse on 310 Kelvin Road indicate that it was dropped, probably from a height of at least 30 feet.
Mystics from MAGI were on the scene and confirmed that there was magic involved. Why this particular warehouse owned by Crey Industries warehouse was targeted and what was in it are unclear at this time.
    Continued on page 4.
  25. Thanks Tyger for those links

Thing is, I asked for the balance...

I think it's quite possible to have a fusiongenerator on the smallest plot (for max energy), but the space it would require would put a strain on other possibilities.

In my oppinion, a base needs at least:
a medical bay, 2x2 is smallest and large enough (the 50k one is a bit limiting, but more in the eyes of expansion, not imidiate need)
A workshop, 2x2 is large enough for my needs, 1x2 isn't. (mostly for storage and such)
Teleportation ability (at least 4 locations).

This needs to be powered and controlled, so you need a power room and a control room.

The basic power generator seems enough from what I've seen.. this might change when the supercomputer makes it's entry.
But the 2x2 power room is enough for me now.

so that's 4 (including entrance) 2x2 rooms before you even get to the control and teleportation possibilities.

That leaves room for 5 2x2 rooms, or some other configuration I'm don't have such a good insight in...
Could use the 1x4 control room, but... how does that fit in with other room sizes... does the 5x5 fit in there then? is it the 4x4 you use? and a 2x2?
