This is a thread used to share rp experiences regardless of where they take place, keep rp'ers connected, chat and banter, goof around, have fun, post recaps, anything that builds the feeling of being in this weird wacky fun mad rp adventure together.

Okay so some people might not agree with me. Perhaps this thread isn't needed and might not even be wanted by some. I created the second GG thread for a reason. The freedom to RP. Us RP'ers have enough hassle from non-RP'ers. Do we honestly have to hassle each other?

There is no GG in the title. Some people have been put off from coming to GG as they hear about the arguments. I'm not pointing any fingers as I know I am to blame. I just want a fun thread! A happy thread! Us RP'ers have to stick together!

You want to discuss the changes of GG? This isn't a GG specific thread. The other one is. Whether you have rp'd in the game, on IRC or MSN or anything else! You can post updates in this thread!

Is it me or were we reminded very recently in the other thread the GG thread was about GG events ?

In my opinion, more roleplaying threads make for broader roleplaying discussions, so another thread is welcome for me.

It's funny because I was talking to you on the phone when you typed it.

It is obvious to me, since months, if it wasn't the case since ever, that it isn't the GG events *only* that were making the other thread alive.

Now why a new thread ? because then, noone will ask question again if things have to happen under a skirt to be reported.

Well it was a record breaker! I mean... it literally shattered that record! What're your characters up to these days old bean?

Posted

they're all thinking about forming a morris dancing troupe!

No, seriously. Dark Rose has just returned from Portland Oregon after escorting a witness there under the witness protection programme.

Bluestrike is in her 2nd year at University.

Shanghai Blue is keeping the streets safe and hunting in the woodlands.

the rest of em, are managing to earn their way as they usually do

I'll do my characters too

Inago - Stuck in medieval Japan due to an accident with one of Doc T's devices. Pyr travelled back to find him. They're are now stuck in a preparation of a war.

Rachis - Is generally drunk and disorderly. He probably should be arrested. At least for criminal damage if not more serious offenses.

Steel Guard - Arrived back from his friends funeral and a little mistake redevous with his ex-wife that he regrets. He is working on a larger version of his (golden age sounding) telepathic energy and mind ray shield that will hopefully protect the Silent Tempest base. He has had a small version in the helmet of his suit for a while, howevever, developing a large version will take much time + resources.

Frolic - She is hard to keep track of. Most likely fooling around or doing something behind the scenes for the Cirque.

I still havn't decided on whether ort not I am keeping Telum. We shall see. Hopefully get my broadband back soon.

I vote for keeping Telum but... well... it's your char !

Return of Tick-tock!

Are the Longbow still about?

I thought the consensus reached was that the 'GG' thread had already turned into a place for all even semi-related RP to be reported in, and that things were working fine that way?

On a more positive note, it'll be interesting to see how this works out. It seems like it could be a good idea to avoid the 'confusion' FaeryFire pointed out above, and maybe banish the cyclical argument to eternity.

If you keep Telum I promise to occasionally play Freja!

Just a quick update on my mains:

Pyr is indeed in Japan, a long time ago.
Subaiku, after Odurson healed her back to shape, has been keeping busy with constructing dreamcatchers and dream chimes to help her friends to sleep safely.
Animania is still investigating the mysterious scheme of using rats and parrots as spies.

Rest are up to no good.

So this is really a character update forum?

Coile is busy as a hummingbird on crack with plenty of things. Crey, Tempest, younger generation, wife, Kitia returning, their operation against Crown gearing up, keeping contact to Militia and at some point being sad for a moment.

Winter is still waiting for legal procedures. As she stays cooped up with her mom in a hotel room she has plenty of time to memorize the countless Power Words that Spellsong has been teaching her. Expect a new magic user to make an appearance sometime near when Pyr and Inny return and this time there's no taking those powers away.

Jiffy is again in a pickle after declaring war on Crey. Will he ever get his interview?

Freja busts heads and takes names in the name of Longbow. "And stay down!"

Once upon a time

"This time was not made for me,
I have nowhere to land, no place to rest,
Like a bird, without a nest, I'm gliding
Under the clouds, forevermore"

- Sonata Arctica

When the mystical blooms-once-in-every-hundred-years blue flower that Coile had brought from the distant slopes of Khan Tengri had been returned alive though not intact he had taken it away from Steel Canyon to Talos and planted it to a safer and less crowded spot. The signs of combat around the university park didn't much catch his attention due to Paragon City feeling like a war zone most of the time. It was only after Subaiku had not answered any calls for a week that the worry started spreading throughout the Tempest. When Samuel Blayne was the last person to reportedly see her a week back a search was launched.

Sam's contacts in university circuits proved to be of vital help. Security cam footage was pulled from a camera and it showed Subaiku arriving to the uni park and ending up fighting a horde of well prepared and armed Council troops taking some nasty hits along the way. After making a strategic retreat she returned to the then vacated scene, planted the flower again to the spot where she had taken it from two weeks before and then vanished into the shadows as per usual. It was only the next day that image enhancing by Sam brought a new angle to light - after planting the flower Subaiku had collapsed into a heap which had faded out of existence. Instead of just leaving it was suddenly possible that she had left for the one final time.

Tempest's remaining mystics Odurson and Dustine tried their hand at locating Subaiku but the results were less than conclusive. If she was to be found at all remained a doubt and there were no leads as no one knew quite what their missing comrade was. Her origins remained still shrouded in guesswork and assumptions and without clear knowledge of her nature the tracking was like looking for the last mob in a giantsize Council base. A breakthrough occurred when Sam convinced a contact of his to use her mystical powers to divine the roundabout location of the missing Tempest member. That was somewhere underneath Perez Park.

The area was a hundred meters wide circle, any more precise estimate than that was out of their reach. Odurson came to aconclusion that the depth was fifty to a hundred meters so she was deep, somewhere around and what's more, also hiding. She was actively shielding herself from searches. Having no better strategy at hand the Tempest divided up and headed into the tunnels. There they remained for a day until Odurson somehow managed to locate their quarry and bring her back to full health.

Prodigals

"Hundred thousand changes
everything's the same."

- A-ha

People come, people go. That's the way of life and there's no use of being glad or sad hoping it would change anything. Still we tend to be, every time. When the people come back we are extra glad. Just as Tempest learned that Kitia had returned from wherever it was that she had gone to and were looking another familiar voice was heard on the Tempest frequency. It was the hithhiking youngster who had left three or four months ago, Rakila.

Kitia was worse for wear. It wasn't found out just how she had managed to pass through the gate leading from Steel Canyon to Boomtown through the police guards while being wanted, or how she had in less than fifteen minutes managed to end up in the faraway sewer system, fall prisoner to Circle of Thorns and be held behind a magical barrier. She had and Tempest ventured after herbreaching their way to their comrade. The magical barrier took some effort to open and Coile's attempt to blast it open resulted in some yelling from Odurson and Dustine as well as him being teleported out of the way. Opening the prison the rune way wasn't successful eaither unless you count a big magical explosion, singed flesh and damaged Kitia a success. Frankly it could have ended even worse. Kitia's tale will be heard when she is awakened and released from her medical restraints. Her being feral doesn't breed innate trust.

Rakila had way back when had to admit that Coile with his insistence had been right all along. She had powers, whether she wanted or not. Instead of facing it she had left the city for months. She had returned when Paragon City had still been the best place for her and by her own words Coile the only person who could help her. Since the school the Tempest leader had been running had been also closed rakila received the same offer than Phi - join the Tempest and receive the training on the field with all the risks involved. Rakila accepted. She had also been fearful about returning, having the horrible feeling that everyone had died just as Sword had. On her return she found out that Sword was alive but Coila had died.

All this brought the past months to Coile's mind. He wondered where Dawn had gone off to. He wished he could even meet Inhilde, talk to her and say that she did the right thing by turning in to Longbow. He was starting to seriously consider the option of calling his father and directly ask what had become of ND-4, his robotic mother.

With Subaiku back in health, Steel Guard having returned from his family matters and Dark Rose finding her way back to good old hero capital of the world the ranks of the Silent Tempest are once again swelling.

Time to achieve something real.

Time to hit the Crown.

Hard.

Away from Paragon CIty, Shades of Ice and Tarie pooled their forces for defense of their wallets and fight back their own level of poverty (one can never have enough).
Shades of Ice, recently escaped from the Zig and still wearing this wonderful and fashioned orange outfit, was pleased by the duo performance at hitting the Atlas bank twice and the Kings Row bank once.

Star Crusader had set an automatic signal in the Tempest medbay computer to warn him whenever someone is treated for celullar damage, a signal originally destined to track Dawn condition.
Then, called back at the base by the signal, he was surprised to find Dark Rose and Kitia, the later being the one in need of healing.
After a quick diagnosis, the alien concluded that, from his point of view, Kitia was suffering from instability on the quantum level and her body was shifting to another possibility. In other words, Kitia was struggling against reshaping into the form of her twin, Kitalia.
Both looked to have undergone a fusion, now sharing the same body. Kitalia shape being firmly human while Kitia has more animalistic features, it is generating a "shape conflict".

Sword of Truth keeps being moody. Bad news are stockpiling for her. Nothing really severe but one after the other...
Having met a clone of herself, sharing not only body but even her memories, a Crey project, was a shock. This event, while obviously a bit disturbing for most of people, was put in relation with her personnal history.
Since months, Sword "abandonned her principles", according to her wording, for the love of Coile. And she always expected she was going to lose her heroic abilities.
Empowered by Justice, so she thought, stop living under strict rules she believed needed, would only leave her as a mere human. It was her choice.
However, she didn't lose her heroic abilities. As Coile pointed, while it can somewhat be supposed she can still fight against opponents (swordplay and dodging), nothing would explain why she is still able to run faster than a car !
Sword ignored those facts, she also ignored Coile demand for her to test for supernatural abilities (hidden mutant powers, anything...).
Now the clone could explain a lot of things. Why she didn't lost her powers after abandonning her own rules (the "inner abilities" theory of Coile).
After all, she might be such a clone herself. A kind of evil plot from Crey to infiltrate the Silent Tempest ?
From disbelief to refusal, Sword stopped to behave wisely since weeks.

IIRC, a long time ago, just before the forum reset, Bridger mentioned that the GG thread really belonged in the Roleplaying section. He's been tempted to move it several times, but has left it where it is as it's well known and established in the Union forum. New thread, however, belong in the Roleplaying section, so don't be surprised if this one gets moved.

No problem with that. RP section is only a click or two away.

After a long night, Steel Guard still failed to make a larger shield generator. However, he did become annoyed at a message on the Silent Tempest network by Sword of Truth, that said they were going to infiltrate the Rogue Isles to take out Crown. He and Coila (when she was alive) had suggested that course of action and the idea was shot down by Sword and Coile, as it was too dangerous. Now they had gone against that descision and planned to go without even informing him.
