Union Roleplayers - Recaps, Plots and Banter.

I've been drumming ideas up for my new costumes. So far i'm struggling to come up with one for Inny and Frolic. Steel and Rachis are about sorted. Suprisingly giving Rachis a golden agey costume.

I'll hopefully be able to get some rp done with people tonight so I actually have something to post here about plots.

Last night:

Chi took a refuge in Pocket D as his regular haunt Tainted Rose was overrun by a bachelor party. In Pocket D it seemed to be "Wear White" night, as when he entered, seven out of the eight persons clustered about the bar were all in white. He exchanged a few words with Shadow (I forgot complete name) and Shallow Moon but when the former turned out to be a hero-fangirl and the latter all too chuffed to share his glorious tales of heroic deeds Chi decided to go see his old pal Coile. Coile as usual was surrounded with women and teased to a deep embarassement. Chi tried to offer some brotherly advice but Coile was reluctant to even consider his advice. ('Flirt back? Nadia would kill me' might not have been his exact words, the expression was terrified enough.) Rakila and Bluestrike brought the conversation back to professional level, and Freakshow's latest antics was discussed. Then Chi left to find Coile who had disappeared towards toilets some time ago. Unfortunately Chi got distracted by offers of free drinks on the way, and didn't see Coile nor the girls again that night.

Some time later Chi was making his way from Pocket D to bed, and divine guidance directed him to a lab complex where Rakila and Bluestrike were fighting Sky Raiders. (No, he was not so drunk to have gotten the address wrong and ended up there by dumb luck. Honestly.) Girls were pleased to get his help, but even the three of them were not moving fast enough to clear the place before Sky Raider enforcements came. (Again, the failure had nothing to do with him being that drunk. Really.)

Actually, as the idea didn't come from me I also thought she (Sword) was dead

H-bomb Still disoriantated by his dimensional hop, returned to active hero duty in Faultline, after a couple of hours of activity he was stunned to find himself being detained by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) who were concerned about the levels of radiation he was releasing from his built in Rikti micro fusion reactor when fighting villains.

Thankfully the team he was with were allowed to leave the zone after decontamination procedures..

And as I lost the track of things once the story "Touch the Sky" where Sword seemingly died was written, I thought it possible that Sword was dead. Weeks passed and I became more convinced of it all the time.

I guess it then really was Doc T making it so that she was alive after all. That happened after the "Magenta Brand of Darkness" where I make it look like Coile dies. That is because it was what I at the time believed had happened. A dart zapped Coile and world went black. That was played over MSN and as I had the game on I said there "game over" signaling that Coile had come to an end. That lasted for maybe just a few seconds until Doc asked when I would be available to play out the escape scenario of Coile and Sword. WTH?!? Coile wasn't dead? ...Hey, Sword is alive?!

That was a good run.

Would have been even better if he had died. I joke. Coile is funny and easy to wind up

What we need is Beccy back. She once boosted Coile's confidence and that lead to many interesting developments. For a few hours the shyness and awkward embarrassment were gone. It was interesting to say the least.

Calm night yesterday

Coile summoned Sword of Truth by his side, soon joined by Lady Cobra.
The trio used Portal Corps technology to reach another dimension and fight an alternate version of the Clockworks.
It appeared Coile was waiting for someone else who never showed up.

Later, the Silent Tempest regrouped to prepare about their coming operations.

Well I managed to get some Inny/Pyr rp done over msn. Though my broadband CD hasn't arrived and so i'm dissapointed yet again. I'm not getting my hopes up and don't expect it to arrive anytime in the next few weeks. Hope you guys in the Tempest have fun on the Rogue Isles. Wish I could be there but it's obviously not meant to be.

I have a nasty feeling that some fun will be had about Coile's clever 'porn star' moustache disguise.

Should be interesting, since this is my first venture to the villain side of things. Aside from last night's short ToT spree to get the necessary salvage.

Okay guys, I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to read the entire thread just yet, but I did want to address something that came up near the start: There is no problem, in my view, with someone wishing to start a more 'general' thread about roleplaying on Union outside of the GG meets. If you don't feel that the thread is necessary or useful to you, then you don't have to use it.

On a more general note, I think it's probably long overdue for some of the RP threads on the Union boards to be moved to the Roleplaying board. It should help to keep things focussed.

If you'd like to discuss this with me, please drop me a mail. For now, though, I'm going to move a few of the threads and see how it works out.

Just wanted to mention that I've had a quick run-through of the thread and done my best to remove as much of the 'is this thread needed' stuff as possible, at the request of several posters.

My apologies to those who may have lost entirely valid posts. (I tend to be very wary of removing posts from roleplaying threads, as I'm aware of the problems it can cause. However, in this case it was requested and I felt that it was better to do it now than later).

While I'm here, I also wanted to expand a little on my previous post. Personally, I see no problem with having multiple threads about different aspects of roleplaying in City of Heroes and Villains.

Essentially, as long as people are talking about their roleplaying, I'm not that concerned whether they do it in one thread, two threads or in dozens of smaller threads.

I would be concerned if people stop posting about roleplaying.

The more I think about that move, the more I believe it's the most appropriate place.

How strange, I used to check Union board to see if anyone has posted on these threads, will I forget to check Union board at all now?

Last night: A long long time ago, in Japan Pyranha and Inago were relaxing after a long day of martial arts practice and talked about changing the history. Although they wouldn't be really changing the history (or future) as they are doing what they already did from "current day's" point of view. At least Pyranha is convinced she can't do anything that would change history and in fact anything she is going to do, she has to do, since she already did so in the past. Confused? I am. Also nifty excuse for her to do whatever she feels like. Scared? I am. Just a little.

Or you could go with the theory of infinite parallel realities, a new one being created every time you make a decision. In which case, when you return to your own time, you won't actually be in the reality you left, but a new one which was created by something you did in the past.

See? It's all quite simple really! And probably very quantum...

Now throw in the fact any moment in the future will be "the past" farther in the future

If Winter loses ONE Tori Amos cd due to Pyr goofing around the history she will *not* be pleased! That on the top of Pyr no doubt forgetting the Totoro doll that Winter asked for.

Ah, BUT.. If Pyr's actions in the past cause one less Tori Amos album to be made (which would be nice!), then Winter won't know it, as to her, that album would never have existed!

Strangely enough, in the Japan long long time ago, no one knows how to do a decent Totoro! And they are kind of lacking the right materials for soft and cuddly totoro's as well :<

Just say the word

Two, three weeks ago Winter met with Spellsong in Pocket D and they talked for a good while about magic and power words. Spellsong put Winter through three tests of which she passed two. The conclusion was that there was some natural aptitude towards magic in Winter which explained her performance with the ring that she had for an hour.

Since then Winter has stayed cooped up in a place with her mother. As Pyranha and Kyo are in Japan (to Winter's knowledge) she took over the apartment in Steel Canyon. Having nothing else to do she has spent good fifteen hours a day memorizing all the power words in the books that Spellsong has been supplying her with. Having always been a reader the amount of words that have been committed to her memory is starting to be sizeable.

Now, what would happen if one takes the lyrics of, say, HIM or 69 Eyes songs and starts converting them into power words? And singing in the shower?

Hmmm... hard to say...
Although I fully imagine Winter will cause devistation with what ever she tries, sooner or later.
Maybe if she did that to her friends by accident will she learn a valuable lesson
