I am not in a panic yet unless the 28th rolls around and no reward token is to be found.
-
I don't take it because if I want to save a squishy I use Grenade Launcher which can hit up to 16 targets at a fixed endurance cost, compared to sonic repulsion, and does damage too.
-
Traps is a shell of its former self. It is still decent now, but people are overrating it. PGT isn't as potent as it used to be, and you can't port around acid mortar anymore (I suppose with a heavy recharge build that doesn't matter). Furthermore, using hover to lay down traps as quickly as possible has been also nixed. Laying mines is nice...if you have time to kill.
Seekers have to be summoned on top of a spawn because the A.I. is absolutely dumb. If you don't put acid mortar down to "tank" damage the FFG bites the dust fairly quickly.
People complaining about redraw with BR/Poison I find strange. I don't see anyone complaining about the redraw or animation times with Mace mastery which is a popular epic for Corruptors. *shrugs* -
This forum seams dead to me. >.<

Ignore trying to spread and you will enjoy the set for it brings (single target focus). People try to use the dual blades combos, but I try to explain to them most of the time just go without them. You end up enjoy the set more this way.
-
Poison is fine and requires minor tweaks. The game would become boring if Poison became another generic AoE Debuff secondary.
People complain about Assault Rifle not being single target focused, because it is AoE focused. Then you have people complain Beam Rifle isn't AoE focused when it is mainly a single target focused.
Play sets that fit your play style...trying to change a set to your play style is futile. -
Regen is an active secondary, which is why I like it. Some secondaries bore me to tears, and regen keeps my attention. Think of Regen like a resistance set, and it starts to make more sense.

Quote:From a Stalker point of view.I'll trust you on numbers, since you're campaigning did such benefits for us /Regens way back when, so consider me /signed.
One of the laments of BS/ Stalkers is... they suck. They are arguably worse than EM/... And no one wants that.
Two other thoughts though...:
1) Add a DoT/Bleed mechanic to Slice, akin to Whirling Sword (both with 4 ticks)?
2) Add the upcoming Titan Weapons momentum mechanic? Pro'ly more appropriate for a 2-handed Claymore though...
Broadsword outshines EM.
Based on cast times alone. Head Splitter is 2.33 while EM has ET with 2.67 and TF 3.3.
BS is very good on a stalker because of BURST damage, and one of the underrated primaries for stalkers and scrappers.
If you want a lethal set that has a dot that is what Dual Blades is for. -
Quote:AR has long animation times with the cones Full Auto and FT. But then again those hit hard, and then AR can mop up with Buckshot/GL in scourge territory. Most cones in blast sets aren't very good due to horrendous cast times and can be considered skippable, some are still good situationally despite their cast times.
I can't imagine trying AR without cones...you used to be able to do it back in the pre-ED days of AR/Dev though. -
/Nin is more forgiving than a /Regen stalker, but I agree that timing is everything.
-
A second vote for DP/MM blaster.
I really have to go around making one as they just are a pure joy to watch in action and amazing synergy between the two sets. -
Quote:... rules the planet. This is what a T9 armor ability should be like.
Quick activation, no end crash, fast recharge (slotted and with sufficient global haste we are talking about @ 80 seconds before incarnate's are applied), and it does a bit of everything. When fully slotted the combination of +50 hp/sec regen, +55% resist (to all but psi), and 200% recovery makes this a kind of "mobile hibernate" IMO: you activate it and for about 30 seconds you are effectively indestructible. They should have named this the "I Win Button".
Ice all around has been a surprise, but I thought this new T9 was worth mentioning. I'm not sure this set will replace /nin as the top performer, but it has so far been a pleasant ride. I just kinda think it's funny that stalkers got this crazy awesome power and tankers (brutes too when it gets ported) will have to make due with hibernate. I know the reasoning behind it, but honestly this should be the default T9 for -all- ice armors, it's just that good.
I fell in love with Ice Armor in beta. Glad to see others enjoying the ride too. -
Empty Clips is the stinker in DP and stands out like a sore thumb compared to AR's Buckshot.
-
-
Skipping Piercing Rounds pretty much confirms that this person doesn't understand DP.
-
Please do not skip sonic siphon, or else I will die a little on the inside.
-
I honestly don't see what the big deal is.
-
So, we are in agreement!? Lets buff Sonic Resonance.
-
Only two combos are worth doing:
Empower and Sweep.
Sweep is what makes Dual Blades shine, and if your ablating strike misses, placate for the Empower buff. The only time I do not start with a Sweep combo is if the NPC's are spread out, so I start off with Empower instead.
Attack Vitals is an interesting combo, but....
1. It requires all three attacks to land unlike Sweep or Empower.
2. The Attack Vitals has a DoT component that messes with placate
3. You are forced to take too many attacks, with limited slots, so it makes builds really tight.
Weaken is highly situational, and not worth it either.
Often I find I open out of stealth using BU + OTC (very hot), so Weaken is rarely used. -
The last two powers in DP really changes how the set plays dramatically. Very similar to AR (Ignite and Full Auto). The difference is you can actually build a decent AR build without Ignite or Full Auto (Ex. Buckshot, Grenade Launcher, Flame Thrower).
You can't do that with Dual Pistols as both Piercing Rounds and Hail of Bullets are too important to pass up. What holds DP back is Empty Clips' animation time, which either needs to be reduced, or Empty Clips needs to do more damage than Buckshot and Fistfull of Arrow.
I really dislike Empty Clips as it gives the wrong impression about DP capabilities. It is a stinker I tend to skip. I tried it again recently but the long animation time coupled with the short range just blows. -
Dual Pistols, in my opinion is at its best if you build with AoE in mind. In other words, you will not have the slots or AoEs you will need at level 22 to make the set shine.

Anyone crazy enough to try out Ninja's with /Sonic? I am intrigued to be honest.

THE reason why I like Sonic Resonance is because it works the best on a team that is moving at a brisk pace. I was a long time Traps player, but Sonic Resonance works far better for the dynamic, action paced teaming environment that CoX is all about. Traps is a lot better for those that like smaller teams or solo.
Furthermore, Sonic Resonance isn't a busy set which allows me to contribute to the killing pace on team by allowing me to unload my AoE's.
