  1. It could be fun to replace caltrops with bolas, which could act as a ranged knockdown and immobilize.
  2. I would love to see a bear head and a bear paw chest emblem. Some monstrous claws would be pretty cool, too.
  3. I worry about the Winter Lady in this regard. Obviously, she is not Incarnate-level content, since she is available at level 20. He debuffs are particularly rough on melee characters.

Then again, it may just be an option so that ranged characters don't have to fight Snaptooth as often.

    I doubt that very much.

    Painfull Altism

I tend to prefer jack-of-all-trades characters. If I'm able to do a little of everything, I don't feel like I'm missing out by not playing something else.

With that in mind, I'm treating my altoholism with VEATs. With dual builds, I can have a Crab/Bane and a Fort/Widow. I took my Crab/Bane heroside, so now I can do a little of everything on both sides.

Plus, it's nice to be able to play a ranged character who doesn't have to worry about mez too much.
  6. It was grand fun to skid across the lake in Atlas Park. This was well before the ice room in Frostfire's hideout or the oil slicks in Port Oakes, so it was brand new to me.

The doctored screenshot of Paragon in white makes me want it so badly.

Just think, we could have the flying heroes trim Atlas' globe in lights. The most daring of villains could pelt the Arbiters with snowballs and dash away. The Rikti could be forced to wear Santa hats.
  7. It's my understanding that the game is not and will never be balanced with IOs in mind. If that's the case, a third build with only SOs should function fine. Any necessity you feel to fill the build with expensive enhancements is your own.
  8. Some of the Seer effects remind me of Sonic Blast. You could make a Sonic/Mental blaster. The sleep in Sonic can help survivability. I think it can also let you use Drain Pysche without retaliation.
  9. I met my husband in a different MMO. We've been married seven years now. We do game together a lot, though he has little time for MMOs these days. I think the shared interested is a huge help.
  10. I imagine DB/SR stalker would be the worst, at least if you want to use all the combos. My DB/EA stalker and MA/SR scrapper were both very grateful for inherent stamina.

    Smash vs Lethal

If I recall correctly, Devouring earth plant types are weak versus lethal, while the crystalline enemies are weak versus smashing.

    Patron questions

I'll second Black Scorpion as having a quick first arc. One of the later missions in a different arc can take forever, though.
  13. Dark synergizes well with defense sets like EA. The to-hit debuff works to reduce the number of hits that get through, and Siphon Life is a lot more viable as a heal than Energy Drain. The downside is that Dark doesn't have much in the way of AoE. I assume holding aggro would be difficult if that were something you wanted to do, especially with EA's unsupressed stealth power.

    I19 live bugs

I've noticed the running as well. Trapdoor ran around a lot, and Romulus in the first Ramiel mission would not hold still.
  15. The three times I fought him in the open beta, I didn't really have any trouble killing him. He did really like running around though, so sometimes I had to hunt to find him after killing a bifurcation. I never used the lava.

I killed each clone as it spawned, which seemed to be every thirty seconds or so.
  16. Stalkers are seen by drones as well. If you're playing a stalker and want to get by without being seen, Placate the drone before it aggros. It won't break hide and lets you get past unseen. Of course, that only works if there is only one drone in the group of enemies.

    Bug with burn

I didn't see this happening on my Dark/Fire brute. I may have missed it, but it's quite possible it's a scrapper-specific issue this time.

    AE Power Combos

I tested a Mercs/FF mastermind in the I19 open beta that came pretty close with SOs, if she didn't reach it exactly. She had Dispersion Bubble, Maneuvers, Stealth, Combat Jumping, and the Scorpion Shield from Mace Mastery.

Edit - I know she had Power Boost, so I may be thinking of Power Boosted numbers, in which case it's not that helpful.
  19. Normally, I go to the quiet room in the AE. Yesterday I had too many to bother. I ended repseccing in the Shadow Shard, the Cap Au Diable Univeristy, a quiet spot in the Vanguard base, etc. I'm careful to be someplace where I won't be attacked and won't be in anyone's way while I'm busy, but other than that it was mostly just wherever I happened to have logged out.
  20. I've had a similar experience. I made a Fire/Dark Corruptor. They can be pretty rough at low levels, both for having room to pick up all the good powers, and for endurance usage. Now I can get the good stuff earlier. Also, the only time I've gotten low on endurance was during the protest zone event. That's to be expected during long minutes of constant attacking, healing, etc.
  21. I really enjoy my DB/EA stalker. She'll probably be my first Incarnate. The sweep combo is terribly useful. With the knockdown, you can Placate a boss and Assassin's Blades him again before he and his friends stand up. Empower is good for a bit of extra damage if what you're fighting isn't much of a threat. Attack Vitals is a pretty decent DoT, and you're going to want to be using Vengeful Slice pretty frequently anyway, for the knockdown. I haven't noticed Weaken doing to much to help the big stuff die faster, but it's fun anyway.

With inherent Fitness coming in I19, it's a bit less painful to fit all of the DB powers in. Stalker builds are always pretty tight.

Edit- Obviously, Assassin's Blades is not able to be chained that way. Not sure what I was thinking there. It does give you time to work in a nice Attack Vitals combo, though.
  22. I found the old system useful even for my zombie MM. Keeping the first-tier pets out of melee to puke kept them alive and doing okay AoE damage.

I can't play ranged masterminds as they are now.

    Choosing Origins

Another outlier case where origin can matter is for Trick Arrow characters. If you don't have a power that does energy of fire damage to light the Oil Slick, you can use the origin powers from Tech and Magic origins.
