  1. I like Iron Scorpion's for the opportunity to fight Scorpinoids and Arachnoids. Also, isn't his the one with the big nemesis invasion of grandville on the beaches where all the Arachnos heavies are present as NPCs holding a line while you go out and take down mole machines and fake nem leaders?

I love that mission but always forget which arc.

Scirocco's is the best except I loathe Mu. It's really funny to see the good Ice Mistral.

Mako's one virtue is that except for two defeat all's it's easy to speed through. Well, ok two virtues: getting to beat down Ace McKnight a second time is fun also =)

Ghost Widow's is ok, but really I like the earlier arc for her with Seer Mano or whatver her name is back in Mercy Island where you help Wretch and Ghost Widow against some traitors.

This is only a partial-truth. Yes they are extra-dimensional, but also supposedly Rularuu (the entity not the "beings") destroyed multiple worlds and/or universes. It's very reasonable to assume that they are not only extra dimensional, but not directly from the earth of their universe. The human-like inhabitants of the shadow shard may not even be from their version of earth, but I have always assumed they are.

Additionally, in terms of grey areas there are the Shadows who serve Dark Swan. they are extra-dimensional, and from a world called "shadow earth". but Shadow Earth looks very like the shadow shard and there is nothing conclusive to say the shadows are from their dimension's earth and not from another world as well as another dimension.

Battle Maiden's Warriors are also extra-dimensional, but no reason to believe extra-planar.

Actually the Fir Bolg and Tuatha are natives of Britain who were pulled through time by the Red Caps and the Cabal and mutated into their current forms. In the past they were enemies (I forget which actually won historically) and the Red Caps and Cabal use magic to make that enmity greater so they are just war machines while in Croatoa.

Some of their chatter mentions their new forms etc, and the croatoa arc lets you get into the history of them.
  3. No matter what the actual rate a pylon heals, it still means that the cataphract has flat-out amazing -regen.

Does the nullifier use those -res grenades?

Dear God, I'd love if people could use Assemble the Team on incarnate trials. I don't know how useful reveal would be, but even though I have a year before I get ATT myself under the old system, I'd LOVE it if others could use it.

Assuming that represents a pylon having resistance to -regen, that'd be ~87% resistance - about the same as a max level AV. If that's the case it would take ~800 -regen to stop one, so the real question would be 'what percentage of the time did the cataphract only have one stack of -regen on the pylon?' This might have to be decided with something like herostats, if it can track pet damage.
Couldn't you more easily just look with the power analyser? Doens't it show when effects stack?

    Question on RP

Also keep an eye out for people who add (ooc) to the beginning of their messages. That's a dead give away. I see a lot of them.

Adding a note in your character ID along with a compelling description has worked for me in the past.
  7. I remember a while back in the controller forums there was a discussion of comparing hot feet with 6 procs, 5 procs, no procs and 1 proc. Pretty much said that for kinetics go with the procs since you'd be damage capped anyway and can get end returned as needed, but for everyone else getting the base damage numbers up would be better than procs, and only add procs after you have the damage and end reduction you need.

I don't think there's really a significant difference between that advice on hotfeet and how blazing aura would work. Damage accuracy and end reduction first, and if you have left over slots drop a proc.

The nice thing is that procs aren't unique and they can take you over the ED damage cap. so don't talk about "blazing aura, OR a click attack" but one in each =)

Basically correct. If you need some KB protection really low I recommend looking into the PvP sets. I use three pieces of the PBAoE set to get 3 points of protection all the way down to level 1. I have two characters who exemplar down for Oro arcs very often. As long as you stay away from the proc and the quad, the set is cheaper than Obliteration. It gives pretty good end reduction also, so I have it in the damage auras on my characters =). It also goes good in teh low level attacks (shadow maul, slice, etc).

Two sets of three and two sets of three eradicate = very nice when exemplared.

But if you need it on a level 20 character it won't be much help since off-level sets are pretty hard to find.

  10. What about the european and italian collector's edition that are for sale on the official store?

Can we get the extra costume pieces and month of game time for those even if we're in America?

To answer the OP, no, you cannot convert Threads into Shards. You can, however, trade Astral Merits for Shards via Astral Christy in Ouroboros.
I wasn't answering the original post, or trying to. It looked like that had been covered pretty well. I like tangents =)
  12. They just released 20.5, if they were going to have 21 this soon I doubt 20.5 would exist it would just get rolled up into 21.

That would be like saying the only energy source you can eat is glucose because whether it starts as fat, sugar or protien the body will convert it to glucose. Or saying that if you have to click two buttons anything involved on the first button click isn't part of the creation process.

the shards are still being used, they just have a longer process.

Actually shade should be much happier with the IDF Ranger. The AI bugginess was supposedly fixed so they will actually cycle their attacks instead of standing around doing nothing using one attack over and over and over and over ignoring all the rest they have available. And htey got a recharge reduction plus damage boost. =)

The lower level Seneshal that is paired with the ring mistress also doesn't attack (t3) and is killable. All other paired attacking pets, one of the two in both cases, is the strongman....paired with either ringmistress or seneshal.

You can get shards while exemped. I got three on a Citadel taskforce last Saturday.

    Wrong on two counts.
First, "the only thing you can do with shards is build Alpha abilities". Not true because you can convert them into threads and build anything you want.

Second. Alpha is the only thing you can build with shards SO FAR. There are 5 more slots that haven't been activated. They might use shards. they might use threads. The devs might invent an entirely new type of incarnate salvage. We don't know.

With the current change to fury (now several issues old) anyone who has a problem with maintaining fury, has a problem with their build, not with the rate of incoming attacks.

I took a level 6 brute into the rikti warzone and pounded on a target dummy and had 75% fury rather fast. It hen stayed there just from brawl set on auto while I left to make a cup of tea for 5 minutes+.

You do not need any incoming attacks to build fury. It helps certainly, but is not NEEDED.

There are three GMs (Giant Monsters) in COV; Caleb, the Ghost of the Scrapyard, and Deathsurge. They really aren’t giants (at least not compared to COH GMs) Caleb and Deathsurge are about 20ft. and the Ghost is 9 or 10ft. In terms of power they're like an Archvillain that roams the zone (and only zones, they don’t appear in missions); decent attacks, thousands of hit points, and massive regeneration.
    What about the Arachnos Flier?

I watched two of them in action. They have a number of hard-hitting AoEs, but seem to have a very slow attack rate (Not nearly as nice an attack chain as the vanguard HVAS for instance). But from one outing I thought they were doing better than the clocks. Would like to see some hard numbers though as this is pure observation on my part from only one event.

    Storm Elementals: 100/53/76.5
    Seers: 89/74/81.5
    Rularuu: 121/45/83

    Rikti: 209/119/164
    Nemesis: 255/88/171.5
    Cimerorans: 349/161/255

One of the key reasons the Cimerorans came out on top is they just have more attacks. The 1st pet has 5 attacks and the second has 4. This is at least 1 more attack per pet than any other choice. This creates a fuller attack chain and less time the pet is just standing there.

    Comments/suggestions welcome.
Do your numbers take into consideration the fact that both warworks and cimeroans can crit? I think at least a few others can as well. When vicky crits it is incredible. In the scrapper forums with field trials against pylons the damage she is being tracked as putting out is almost absurd and the cims do a fair bit more for the exact reason you noted.
  22. Here's what I don't understand. When I get speedboosted I seem to fly faster. Is that just my imagination?

I think I need to test this.

The scrapper and controller can be built to be capable of soloing AVs. Therefore in teams with a sonic defender supporting you will only have problems at lower levels and if you have a build as bad as some of mine.

I agree. Seems like an odd decision.

Also, I don't understand the change that made it more likely to include more than the minimum needed to start. In my mind, it should be set to always attempt to fill to max unless it is a closed league. And "join in progress" should pop you into any league with an opening that is not closed.

but many people proposed both of these and the Dev's clearly didn't agree. So Meh. We'll see if they modify it in the future.

Actually, I don't find the drop rate that bad, it depends on your kill rates. My farmers are doing pretty good with regard to shards. My support characters are not.

I get about as many shards as rare invention components.
