Question on RP
There tends to be a lot of "Hanging about" Rp in this game and the major areas to hang out are Pocket D, Atlas park under the Statue of Atlas, and inside Super/Villain Group bases. Besides that you can still find RP characters flitting about doing stuff, but the "fishing" method is as effective at catching RPers as fishing is at catching fish. Just keep doing as you will and you're certain to get some "random" RP but maybe not as much if you went to the designated fishing spots and dropped your line.

I'll miss you all.
Also, is there anywhere I can go to search for a supergroup that would fit my character?
Thanks in advance! |
As for finding RP, have you done the RP bit when teaming with others?
Easier to get it started (doesn't mean it will) if you're on a team doing missions, and not emoting/sayign something as they run by you.

Also keep an eye out for people who add (ooc) to the beginning of their messages. That's a dead give away. I see a lot of them.
Adding a note in your character ID along with a compelling description has worked for me in the past.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Open world RP is rarely seen these days but it does occur sometimes, mostly at popular hang out spots like Pocket D or Galaxy Girl (while it lasts) on Union. Your best bet is to join RP orientated global channels and look up some of the RP supergroups going. You might want to check out some of the threads in the Roleplaying forum as well.
And just to mention, Union is the other unofficial RP server, just in case you wanted to try there as well.

Do a global chat channel search for RP and/or role play.
To do a channel search, right click the channel window and select channel search. Then type RP or Role play in the field, and join that channel.
Sometimes you will need to send a tell to a mod to get unsilenced so you can speak. To find a mod, and other people of channel click on friends, and change from server/global to the name of the channel. You'll see a list of whose on, and ones with a star (i think its a star) are the mods.
In my experience, a filled out ID card is good when you have found other Role players, but meaningless for finding them. Though adding ((role play friendly)) can help.
Adding "ERP" means most people will think you are more interested in cyber than role playing characters.
I've found RP Virtue and Roleplayers to be good channels for organising RP teams.
As mentioned, the forums are good places to arrange RP SGs too.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
Thanks for the suggestions, all.
Mmkay, so I decided to play on Virtue when I heard it was the unofficial RP server, and I was curious. I'm currently in Praetoria doing the 1-20 in order to be able to start my characters wherever I please, and I'm using every chance I can to present myself as an RPer: I'll walk when there's nothing pressing to deal with, I've filled out my ID card with a physical description, I emote at many people that I pass by or that pass me by.
Problem is, since starting yesterday I haven't met a single other roleplayer, just people who use the ID cards to enter some sort of quote or inane factoid about where they stole their character from. Is it just because I'm in Praetoria? Can I look forward to a much denser concentration of roleplayers when I leave?
Also, is there anywhere I can go to search for a supergroup that would fit my character?
Thanks in advance!
