Ok here is an example....this happened this last week on the Sister Psyche Task Force.

Had a huge annoyance factor on it....it was the rest of mew's team.....they all had stealth and super speed....so that means they not only kept out stalkering mew....but could out damage and out survive her.....they even did the same tricks mew did....with the teleport the team to the end and teleport single players....to rezing them too.....=>_<=.....Mew felt like Mew was useless mostly.....becasue the brutes and tanks did a better job at doing what Mew normaly does....to a point...that Mew's best attacks where 320+ damage with an assassin strike....everyone else except the defender where pulling off 500+ damage on strikes.......not kidding.....

Yah felt very...very...very...lame on that team...LMAO.

Its not very normal.....to have an entire team of NON-Stalker Stalkers.

So thats why Mew had to Post this.

Mew even got alot of aggro....because super speed reduces threat so every so often someone was aggroing a group of enemies a bit more then they could handle come running back and the group of enemies would proceed to start attacking mew.....=O_O=

But mew is used to that.....just the annoyance thing was the simple fact....the TANK and Brute and Soldier of Arachnos....just did better then Mew at Stalking...they could wade into hude groups becasue they had superior Health and Armor....and did Superior Damage and mews attacks being slow.....well most of the time....mew couldnt even get in attacks....because the others would kill them first.

Mew was playing a Street Justice/Ninja Armor Stalker......so mew had a little trouble with energy usage.....as in it ran out alot.....so mew had to slow down on the attacks....
I have this happen a lot. I'm not sure what it is, but it's like every character I have, my blasters my scrappers my stalkers, all do less damage than any random tank or corrupter I partner with. I expect to do less than the Veats and the other scrappers/blasters because I know my builds suck and I know I'm not using what I do have to the full potential. but to be reliably outdamaged on a blow-by-blow basis by tanks? That just feels bad. Especially when I'm on a stalker, scrapper or blaster.

And on BAF I can't even vent my anger on them by getting confused and ASing them because while you can target allies, it just says invalid target. So I'm working on void judgement. See if a nice untargetted AOE surprises them. muhaha. Outdamage ME will you? Filthy defender, take that! blam. Sigh. At least I haven't been shamed by a defender yet.

Mew has done more things with stealth throughout this games history then common sense...
I don't think common sense applies to stalkers very much. Hehehe. I think that's why I fit as a stalker so well.

I've done a LRSF for the accolade, but that was the biggest thing we've done so far.
I don't know of any SGs that do hami raids alone. Usually people broadcast in the server's grouping channels and all kinds of random people pile in. Up to 50 can fit into the hive at a time and raids usually have 35+ participating on Virtue. The first two hero side are often full. I'm not in any active vg/sgs and I do at least 3 hami raids per month just randomly showing up for them. And you do not need a sub to participate it is open to free/premium players.

I'm in a couple SGs too (to clarify not particularly active three of us on at the same time is noteworthy), but also groups are for characters not just players. You can be in more than one. So you can have a character in a private group. this makes the storage all for you. in theory that's 18 bins, that can each hold 100 enhancements or 30 salvage. You only need 1 character in the group, then you can email youself items from it as needed. If you have a friend to help you pay the rent. And yes it does require an honor system. But what I have on mine is multiple rooms for the different players and we each add and take from our private room. Then there is a group stash where we put common IOs and the halloween costume salvage etc.

I don't know how I'd live without it hehe.

Yeah, but I only started just after the trial accounts ended so I've only bought cox, GR and one month's worth of sub time. When I look at Paragon Rewards, it only shows two tokens slotted, with the third row empty, which I assume means that I'm tier two.
Then I suspect that you have several tokens you haven't placed yet. You should get 1 for having an account, 1 for buying a box, 1 for the 1 month of subscription. So you should have at least 1 more you haven't assigned. If you have a reward token available I recommend taking the "sprints" option in Tier 3. not because the sprints are good, but because it also comes with the choice of sands of mu or ghost slaying axe for all characters on the account. Sands of mu will be a huge benefit for you since it works decent without slotting at all and it's immune to set bonuses etc so you're not missing out by not having sets.

    GR enhancements?
they were a limited time offer for buying going rogue from some online retailer whose name I forget. they are also available as a tier-8 reward. Basically they are 5 special enhancements that always give 16% damage and 16% recharge plus a wimpy damage proc. They never expire and you can use them at level 1. The damage proc stops working after level 20 however. But the bonus makes them exactly as good as a level +0 SO. and until level 20 you have 'beginner's luck" to make hitting things easier even wihtout accuracy slotted. So they are awesome.

the only way to get them now is via the tier-8 reward.

Not yet. I'm following the builds I posted, with the exception of Calling of the Wolf, which I replaced with Build Up, still not sure that that was a good call tho.
Build up is a hugely effective power. Especially if you're on SOs. All it benefits from is tohit and recharge and basically all it needs is recharge. Plop two in there and done. Use it right before your rush into a spawn and you'll do double damage for your first 3 or 4 attacks. Once you have lotus drops then doing BU-lotusdrops-flashingsteel should drop most minions and do 40-60% damage to lieuts and you still have two more attacks at double strength before it wears off.

Later on, buildup makes it possible for you to drop many bosses in 3-4 hits. It is a very good power. I really need to be better at remembering to use it. heh.

So in the long run I can expect Kat to be equal to or better than claws?
Yes. From what I understand claws will have better damage kat will have better defenses, but they will both be pretty competitive with each other. If I'm wrong (I'm no expert) someone will be along shortly to correct me. =)

Stone/invuln is also pretty darn survivable and I have always like stone melee. It's slow, and highly resisted damage type, but it is a really fun set. And yes the knock has helped on my stone/elec quite well. he doens't have any defense just resist and knock and it's going ok.

Most likely they would be Acc/Dam in place of Acc or Dam SOs with the free slot that generates filled by end redux or rech.
Well you'd be surprised how fast you can build up hamis. If you rotate characters and run the two-to-three hami raids on both red and blue sides (most servers have a regular schedule, virtue it's blue on sat red on sun) that's 6/week. Do the occasional statesman or recluse strike force for more. I've got wuite a few stashed and I sell far more than I buy.

With level 2 you can join Super Groups but not pay rent (only VIPs can pay rent). Do you have a trusted friend? If so the two of you can make a base and you can each have your own storage room. He can pay rent and you can invite eachother's characters to the group. That should keep you set.

your primary account already existed as a subscriber though right? So you should be tier 3 at least. Tier 2 is like a brand new account that only bought 1 item and never had a sub at all.

That said, I've gotten both scrappers to lvl 20ish and so far I like the Claws/SR better simply because she doesn't die as often and I think she's killing faster (though its hard to be certain). Does the Kat/WP get significantly better? Or is this pretty much what I should expect?
Also, to be fair, I should mention that I didn't use enhancements (other than those I found randomly) until near lvl 20 since I was simply leveling too fast to bother.
Heh, claws seems to mature faster than kat in my experience. And /SR can handle more enemies than /wp on SOs. so short version, Kat will get much better when you hit 38 and have all your real attacks.

Spin is just phenominal AoE and it does so much damage it's worth using on lone targets plus you get it way before the lotus drops for Kat.

For my Kat/WP who is still levelling (currently 28) I tried very hard to make a decently fast chain of Gamblers-DivineAvalanche-FlashingSteel-DivineAvalanche. But without some recharge bonus IOs you might need to use brawl here and there as a filler. I have the Going Rogue enhancements, so that was a LOT easier for me.

    Do you have haste?

Later on Kat gets far better. Gambler's Cut, Golden Dragonfly and Soaring Dragon make up 90% of your real killing power. And you only have the weakest of those three so far. By contrast you have most of your top claws attacks and are just filling out the AoE potential on that set now with eviscerate etc. So I'm not surprised it feels more violent.

Personally, I feel that while it wouldn't work for many stalker sets, street justice looks like a clone of the claws follow up would be awesome as a builder. Get a combo level AND tohit/damage bonus for just long enough to squeeze out two attacks (one other combo and finisher).

and I honestly don't understand why AS is NOT a finisher. It needs to be. As I mentioned earlier in the thread.

And thanks to all on the insight with using AS mid fight. I think I use it a fair bit more often than others on my /dark because the fear and -tohit really help, plus I not only placate but Air Sup regularly so I don't have near as many foes attacking me. Definitely don't use it much during trials, but I did AS the lichen warwalker three times in one run. That was just to see if I could (and his left ankle will never be the same after that I assure you! hehe). Never managed to get one off vs the avatar though.

  10. I also want to point out something obvious but for some reason completely eludes many people.

A lot of the "best" IO sets cap out at level 30 or 35 or 40. If you're waiting until 50 to slot one, I have to ask... why?

I meet a ton of people who don't do IOs until 50. they say "I run on SOs until 50 then I make my final build." Then they slot 4 sets of Kinetic Combat (max level 35) and the Miracle Unique (max level 40). Or Basilisk (max level 30). Or the Steadfast Protection Unique (max level 30).

Paying for, and dealing with the hassle of 15 levels worth of SOs for 20+ slots is really silly.

But people do it all the time.

If it makes them happy, great it's a small inf sink. Still it's silly.

Sort of. The exemping penalty kicks in before ED. So overslotting helps. And it doesn't happen at all unless you go down to level 31 or lower.

So, let's look at Armageddon to compare to my eradication math earlier.

    single: 53%
    dual: 33.1%
    Triple: 26.5%

If you exemplar to 25 all of these will drop to 73.3%. Also the damage gets hit with "rule 2: Maximum bonus. Before applying the scaling percentage any bonus higher than 41.5 is reduced to 41.5". This is the opposite of the small bonus benefit when exemping.

    single: 30.42%
    dual: 24.26%
    triple: 19.42%

So Armageddon gives (before ED @50 vs @25)
    D 157% vs 98.37
    R 92.7% vs 67.95%
    A 59.6% vs 43.69%
    E 33.1 vs 24.26%

If you boost it five times on all pieces this works really awesome at level 50, and it does help the lower numbers somewhat, but then every piece except the triple hits the higher than 41.5% limit.
    Boosted +++++ @50 vs @25 vs Erad optimal @25
    D 182.13 vs 115.54 vs 82.49%
    R 115.88 vs 85.12 vs 76.7%
    A 74.5 vs 54.70 vs 57.5%
    E 41.38 vs 30.4195 vs 18.63%

Post ED that damage is still going to be noticeably higher than the Eradication. So will endurance. Recharge and accuracy not so different but a small edge still.

Is that work the extra billions in Inf and 25 boosters to you? Maybe. It's definitely higher bonuses across the board. And you do get the full set of set bonuses.

Exemped to 25 boosting all of them to max gives about 17% damage, 13% recharge, 11% acc and 6% end.

By comparison, boosting and optimizing eradication gave 6.3% dam, 6.3% acc, 6.3% rech, and 3.73% end.

I have no idea how ED will impact this as I am not that good at math.

Also the midnighter's club store has most origins. Last, you should check the market if you have access as very often people dump SOs at all sorts of levels and you can get them far less than half price. Sometimes as cheap as 1k.

Power Boost requires a pre-req power, and I had a choice of either Web Envelope or Scorpion Armor (which can take yet *another* LotG, if I was desperate for +Recharge). I decided to go with Web Envelope for the Target AoE Immobilize, and the synergies that offers with Distortion Field (stay put, my victims!), Time's Juncture (no running allowed!) and Slowed Response (say "cheese!" for me!). Also, since Ninjas are Melee Oriented Pets, if something is "stumbling away at pitiful speed" because their run speed has been crashed to the cap, Ninjas will have a "bad habit" of being "way too courteous" and NOT ATTACK for long stretches of time due to programming bugs in how Follow works with Melee Attacks. Having an AoE Immobilize, which can be self stacked (to Immobilize Bosses) so as to bring all kinds of powers to bear was just "too useful" in the grand scheme of things for how I intend to play my character.

Basically the Web Envelope provides the capstone to a "poor man's AoE Hold(ish)" capability which would not otherwise be present, and which will make it easier for *ME* to control the flow and positioning of battle to MY advantage. And for that purpose, a single slot is "enough" for Web Envelope to fulfill its intended role.
Thanks! I'm working on a ninja/time. The strategy tips are very handy.

Yes, I acknowledged that. But with a 20+dpa advantage, the occasional missed AS on average is still a better choice. With a reliably missed AS it is not. What % to be hit is that crossover point?

Concealment: A ST cage attack, like phase shift on an opponent. NOT an AoE, like dim shift or black hole, because AoE wasted attacks suck. This way it's acttually usefull on relatively common situations, such as taking out a tower on STF, or an AV on multi AV fights on ITF/STF/LRSF etc. Also, it would have an impossible to perma recharge time, so you can't greive team mates. I was thinking a "One with Shield" and "Strength of Will" type recharge restriction for it. 50% uptime if you cast as soon as it's up.
Interesting concept, but not sure if it fits with the set. Personally, I'd rather have a power that penetrates enemy phase. So if the master illusionist phases, you hit this and then you and she can hit each other but not anyone else.

Medicine: Half of aid other's heal, double recharge time, AoE. Not sure thematically how the annimation would work, but going with the theme of the set, I would assume a relatively small radius.
no. the absolute last thing we need is another reason for people to get the mistaken impression that heals are a "necessary" form of survival. An Auto power that halves the interrupt time and gives a bonus to effect of the earlier powers in the set would be interesting (but may hit my own caution on the aoe heal). Done right it could be very nice as a mini boost power only for the other four powers in the set: longer duration and higher protection from stimulant, bigger heals with more reliability for aid other and aid self, more hp/end from rez.

Another idea I had was the nemesis version of vengeance: A toggle you pick that does absolutely nothing but waste your endurance. Until you're defeated, then you vengeance off yourself with longer than normal range.

[quoteAgain, sorry for threadjacking, but I thought it went along with the idea of this post, because the devs would never give only one pool a 5th power without the others getting a 5th, and the ones that already did only got chosen because of the travel powers.[/QUOTE]
Pfft. The devs will do anything they like and think is good for the game. They'd give one power out but not all of them if it met those two criteria.

You don't keep the bonus. Purple and PvP you keep the set bonus but boosters don't change that. The actual enhancement value of a PvP or purple is reduced when you exemplar just like any other IO. However, the Purples start at a higher value so that helps.

As I see it, the real value is in where you can free up a slot but have the same bonus at the end. Like being able to get by with two in haste instead of 3.

Also @VP Research, will you still be high enough premium for base access? You could make a base and stash up to 100 there per table.

Or use a second build as a mule if you have an existing 47+ you know you want to keep unlocked and that has vet/free/earned respects to get them back out again. that can hold a lot more than 10.

Water Spout could still use a little work, maybe one more piece of undermine def and/or 2-3 pieces of the positron targeted AOE set.

    Tornado

Allowed: End redux, Range, Disorient, Recharge, KB, Def Debuff, Damage

Sets allowed: archatype, KB, Acc Def Debuff, Recharge Int Pet, Stuns, Pet Dam, Def Debuff

My slotting: Blood Mandate Dam and Dam/End, Touch of Lady Grey Debuff/recharge, Debuff/recharge/end, Recharge/End, Dam Proc (all lvl 50)

    Water Spout

Allowed: End Redux, Range, Disorient, Recharge, KB, Def Debuff, Dam

Sets: KB, Stuns, Targeted AOE, Def Debuff

My slotting: Undermine Def Debuff, Debuff/Rech/End, Debuff/End, Basic IO's Rechage, 2X Damage (all lvl 50)

My Storm/Elec Defender uses both the Achilles chance for debuff and razzle dazzle chance for immob procs. Both of which are awesome in tornado. They can also both be put in water spout. When the imob procs the poor stunned target has to just sit there and take it while the tornado/spout chews them to bits. I have watched tornado (and I assume spout can do the same) pick up a boss, toss it into a corner and hold it there unable to do anything while chewing them to dead. It always gets a cackle out of me when that happens.
Hmm, then I'd go heel proc and 5x posi's blast (all but def/range).
